We are family with young child CURRENTLY STRANDED in the middle of France with a 2gether UK + European breakdown/recovery cover.
Carefully checked expected breakdown/recovery cover before our current road trip through France based on the headline information available on website and the 1 page ‘policy schedule’ received when signing up. All looked good. Four days and 600 miles into our trip car shudders to a halt and STOP lights up on dashboard. Called the helpline state that we’ve broken down in France - zero assistance or questions just given a French number to call. Call the number very helpful French man - after 30 mins of back and forth confirms he cannot help as he has no record of our cover.
It’s now getting late… called 2gether multiple times over the next 2 hours could NOT GET THROUGH to speak to anyone… call just switched between ring tone and hold music on an infinite loop. In desperation sent an email for ANYONE there to call me… no reply. Finally got through to someone on the phone at 8:45pm he informed me that we have a policy but are not covered in this instance and no recovery of our car or any other service will be provided.
Highlighted we do not feel this is acceptable and an offer of a ‘senior manager’ to call us back was ‘prioritised for us ‘ BUT 12 hours later NO ONE has called.
@customer.care@2gi you already have an email from me so please check that before your standard response of ‘please reach out to…’. Can I suggest instead that you HELP with a ‘senior manager to call me’ so we can resolve this unfortunate situation.
We now have no car and zero assistance… I suggest you make your own mind up if you should use this company based on our experience.

Speaking to real people
Spoke to a member of staff from customer services who was very helpful, professional and friendly. It is certainly less stressful speaking to a nice person rather than trying to communicate with a robot which relates to my previous telephone experience with some other insurance companies I do not wish to mention.

Please don’t take breakdown cover with this firm yes they are cheaper and make it so easy to join but they are a total rip of and will not recover your vehicle I had national breakdown cover and still wanted to charge 530 pounds for a 60 mile journey they make out they care on there reviews by saying please contact customer service by email but still don’t get back to you

Worrying breakdown service!…
Poor English spoken by the breakdown telephone co- or donator; and only gave two options 1) Jump start only. 2) Jump start with garage recovery. No dyagnostics.He also said that their attending officers were not mechanics; but the officer attending said they can do a full check.
