Stay Away from them totally SCAMMERS,

Stay Away from them totally SCAMMERS,

1) Contract for rental with Car Jet with Insurance Luke, one of the owners of the Malta franchise of Abby car came to collect us at the airport. We were taken back to his office outside the airport to do paperwork and collect the car. I took photos of the car all around and pointed out to Luke to mark the damages so there would be no issue on return. I said to Luke I hope you are not one of these scam car rentals we have read about he laughed and said did you not see CarJet reviews we are part of a major international group. I said but you are Abby car working with CarJet he said we own part of CarJet we are all in a partnership I said ok. He also took a photocopy of our insurance cert issued by your company also.

3) Luke said as you are using a debit card we must charge you €60 for the block for the 7 days I agreed to this but questioned the cost he said this is the only way. I accepted this charge even though I was most surprised and this was the first ripoff.

4) He placed a block of €1,500 for the rental on my debit card. and gave me a receipt for this and the €60 charge for using the debit card.

5) The car we were given was a Kia Ceed that was in horrific condition. It had dents and scratches and damage all over but we decided to just take it anyway. Please note there is no suspension in the car when we drove it was reacting so badly to any speed ramp or bump is was simply the worst car I have ever rented in my life and not roadworthy. Please also note we did not complain even though we had all these issues and the car was also smelly and dirty. We simply did not want to make a fuss.

6) On return 7 days later the following occurred. We returned back the car to Abby car rental at their office at circa 330pm.

7) Me and my wife inspected the car again and all was as it was when rented first.

8) We entered the office with our child and Lukes business partner greeted us. inside the office. There was two of their staff inside the office and they exited as soon as we came in. One of the men went to our car parked outside.

9) Within less than 2 minutes we exited the office to do an inspection where we see the broken tail light had all of a sudden appeared I was shocked and said to the guy this is not possible we just inspected it 2 minutes ago. He said let's go back inside we need to fill out some forms.

10) He then said you are insured this is excellent as they will pay for the damage. I said I did no damage and your staff member who exited the office with his collogue must have done this I smell a total SCAM here.

He said it is like this the damage is €875 and I will do an invoice up and you pay the €875 to us and then you claim from the insurance and they pay back to you so it costs you nothing and everyone is happy he was smiling at me. I said this is not a funny situation get Luke on the phone he said ok.

Luke saw I was incredibly angry and upset and he repeated to me you are insured "come on man what is the problem just pay and claim thats all". I stated to him that if I had done the damage I would pay no issue but I did not so it one of your staff did. He got very angry on me and said "you pay the €875 or you will have a problem with us and you wont like it " so he he threatened me.

I said I will not pay for something I did not do and also the cost of the part is less than €40. Luke replied " F...You I will keep all your deposit unless you pay €400 now plus vat". I said no way I am not signing any papers for a false claim against any insurance company so your scam makes money first €875 now €400 plus vat no way. I then handed the phone back to his colleague.

12) We were driven back to the airport.

13) I paid €94.01 for the car rental and insurance for 7 days. This is correct and no issue.

14) Abby car rental took €1605.80 as a block for damages.

CarJet are investigating now but I advise to stay a million miles away from AbbyCar Malta they will destroy you holiday and just take your money illegally they simply SCAM you.

Please don't put yourself through it

Stay AWAY serious scammers- they hard sold me a comprehensive insurance plan for more than I paid to rent the car that was supposed to cover everything- comprehensive- no deductible- lured me into taking a car that already had dents on the back- told me they were releasing my deposit when I returned the car...only to charge my card almost $2,000 once I'd left the country for 'damages' that were somehow suddenly not covered by the comprehensive insurance I paid so much for....furious and no one to talk to.

These are scammers

These are scammers. They ask for documents they do not provide and impose fines. By keeping the price low, they lure you into a trap and take the money they did not receive at the beginning at the delivery of the vehicle. I don't recommend using it, but if you do, research the tool for hours if you need to.

DONT rent via abbycar

Rented a car for 10 days in Orlando and Would NOT recommend Abbycar.
- Airport pickup was supposed to be every 15 min, but we waited an hour and had to call several times
- The deposit was more expensive than initially stated and now i worry i wont get it back
- Aircondition didnt cool properly
- Returning the car was very unprofessional and weird. There was no employee from Abbycar upon returning, so a random guy working at the lot told us to send a video of the car to a whatsapp number and leave the key in the car.

We rented from abbycar Orlando Florida 4/3/24-18/3/24,
Car was great it was clean,
He did want us to take the toll pass, to which we said no but he was fine about that, i would use this company again no doubt providing the price was right, this time the rental cost for us was great, and we are considering this company for 2025....

ABBEYCAR IN MARRAKECH MOROCCO AIRPORT ARE SCAMMERS, AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE , they said my credit card "declined" so they can't release car. My bank said they didn't receive any request and havn't declined the transaction. But Abbeycar THEN said, if I buy premium car insurance worth €120, they CAN release the car - others I met had same experience. TOTAL SCAMMERS. MOROCCO IS A COUNTRY OF SCAMMERS AND ABBEYCAR LEAD THAT!!!

The worst experience in 17 years at…

The worst experience in 17 years at Heraklion Airport.
The Abby Car desk outside the airport was closed, nobody present. Only voucher was mentioned 1730 as pickup time, and I was at their desk at 1740. They were in possession of my mobile number but I didn't got a call. I contacted several times their number but no answer at all. I also contacted Abby Athens, were I got somebody on the line. I explained my issue and the person asked to stay on the line. He didn't come back but apparently transferred the line to the Heraklion number. Again no answer. I repeated my actions several times but no answer!
I had to hire a car with another company! What with my money? Will I ever get it back.
They even don't deserve one star, but otherwise I couldn't write this extremely bad experience.

Abbycar - a great deal

We rented from Abbycar alias Florida Premium rent-a-car at MIA. Really good price and a clean and well maintained car. We inspected and documented the car status prior to taking off as did the rental agency . they were indeed very through. I can recommend this agency - price was terrific and car was just what I expected.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have rented the car through this company in October 2023. Until today I have had no deposit returned. No reply to emails and phone calls. I have had to make a claim though my bank to get anything back. Absoulte SCAM. They are using Discovercars to get customers so be careful. Below reviews are absolutely TRUE.

Agree with all ones

Agree with all ones. Doggy company. Booked the car through CaJet in Antalya airport, Turkey. I was told that they cannot block my credit card for the deposit payment and threatened by booking cancellation unless I pay 70 Euros for removing this requirement. The booking was from Abbeycar, rental contract from Hellocarrental. There was another name on the shopfront, Nates Car Rental. Only one rep, so best to avoid all three names.

They are thieves! AVOID THIS COMPANY!!

They are thieves!! Taking the deposit of 1040 euro's as a payment instead of reserving it. It took months and many emails before we got it back. The sad thing is they did not refund the whole amount, but only 1009 euro's, this means they stole 31 euro's from us. We were so releaved that we got most of the money back, that we did not start a procedure for the remaining amount. I think this is there policy, to make more money. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!

Car returned on 22.11.23 Today is 8.01.24 deposit not refunded. I’m not waiting any day longer. Just reported to my bank as a fraud also going report it to the police, building administrator where they rent office and all car brokers.

Do not use it

Do not use it! We were focused to buy the premium insurance cover service which cost 70 euro per day when we pick up the car. After we reject they used silly reasons to not release the car we booked (yes we lost our rental payment at last and also wasted entire afternoon and have to rebook a new car from another company.) and even took pictures of our credit cards! This is awful and unacceptable!

ATTENTION SCAMMERS

ATTENTION SCAMMERS. Instead of blocking the deposit on the card, they charge the card 1000 euros and do not refund the deposit after returning the car. After over 3 months, hundreds of e-mails and initiating the bank's chargeback procedure, I received my deposit. Lots of unnecessary stress and nerves after the holidays. I can't believe that such things are happening in Croatia and the EU. Avoid Discovers.cars, vintax car rental and abby car. Everyone throws up their hands, and the client is 1000 euros poorer.

STAY AWAY (Orlando)! I repeat, STAY AWAY!

we booked a rental car through this hire company. Our flight was delayed and then our baggage was delayed the guts of 2 hours after the flight. Got the shuttle bus to the hire company which is outside the airport grounds (waited about 30 mins for this to arrive). Arrived at AbbyCars and the desk was closed off, waited for at least 30 mins whilst other workers (working for another car hire company in the same building) didn’t even ask if we were ok. My Husband approached another worker who advised they would “message” the AbbyCar worker, advising us they were “on their way”, waited over another 30 mins and nobody arrived. Another worker appeared at their desk and advised us to call this AbbyCar worker (and indeed, they were not on their way!). We do not have a local number and WhatsApp didn’t work. We eventually convinced the AbbyCar Worker to call us. They advised that because we were late for our reservation, they cancelled it and left their desk. No email, no telephone call, no message. We were stranded with a one year old, all because our flight and luggage was delayed. Something totally out of our control. They were unsympathetic, unhelpful and left us with our one year old without any help.

If I could give them zero stars, I would.

Terrible service. Never again will we be using this hire company nor recommending them to anybody. Cheapest isn’t always best!!

Stay away from this rental company… as far as possible
Warning! Stay away from Abbycar.
Very bad experience. They don't have the cars that they advertise.
No customer service/customer care.
Rented two cars this august from them
One was a ford fiesta or similar where we paid 537 euro for a week and the second was a peugeot 208 or similar for 514 euro for the same period. Arrived at the desk and we were given two nissan micra in a terrible condition with damage all around the vehicle and a very very disgusting and dirty interior. Bumpers hanging down and paint peeling off the car. We had also warning lights on the dash on both vehicles for tyre pressure and one vehicle had a traction control light. When asked their staff we have been advised that everything is ok and that they are aware of these lights being on. We requested for the cars that we paid for but unfortunately due to their ignorence and no customer service we have been advised that if we want to take these cars we can, otherwise they have no other cars for us. Due to arriving late in the evening we had no choice but to accept the cars.
Will not recommed this rental company to anybody and will never ever rent from them again.

Worst car rental EVER

If I could give no stars I would. First of all, they are not located at the airport, as their name implies. When we arrived we were surprised to find that they had no rental desk at the airport, no one knew who they were or could assist us in finding them. There was no shuttle. After almost an hour of searching, with luggage in tow, we opted to take a taxi, at our expense, to the location. Even the taxi driver had never heard of them and had a hard time locating them, even with the postal address.

When we finally did find their office, (almost a quarter of an hour away by car), we told them of the difficulity in finding them, and their response was that we should have called them. Since we are not from Greece, that would have been a very difficult thing to do....When we asked why no one was there to meet us, shuttle or otherwise, they had no answer, except that we should have called them. The desk help were NOT helpful at all, or even friendly. They acted like they were doing us a favor, not offering a service that we were paying for.

Our car was not ready for us, and when they were doing the paperwork, they informed us that if we did not want a 1500 Euro! freeze on our bankcard, we were required to pay an additional 250 euro(?) insurance fee. Now our rental contract clearly states that the fee includes total insurance coverage. The additional fee just about doubled the rental car fee, and gave no additional coverage. It was clearly a scam, but they have you over a barrel when you are at the desk. In retrospect, I wish we had just demamded a refund, and taken a taxi back to the airport and went with a reputable company. Though I seriously doubt that they would have given us a refund.

The car itself also had issues. At once we started receiving alarm signals, saying the tire pressure was low, the motor needed to be checked, etc.

So in conclusion, there is no way I would EVER recommend this company. Run, do not walk away from them! You are much better off going with a reputable firm that has service actually at the airport, and will not double the fee by overcharging you for insurance which you do not need. RUN!!!!!

Avoid!!!! Abby car hire is a scam AVOID!!!

Abby car hire is a scam. I rented a car from them for a week in MARRKECH and returned it as it was. But they emailed me later, claiming that I had damaged the car and i would have to pay from my deposit. They sent me some blurry photos of the car, which looked fake. I called them to protest, but they were rude and threatening. They said I had no choice but to pay.

I was angry and worried, so I searched online. I found out that Abby car hire has been doing this to many customers. They have a lot of bad reviews and complaints. They use the same photos to trick different people. They are not part of any car rental association or agency. They have a very low rating on Trustpilot.

I reported them to my bank and the consumer protection agency. I also wrote a review on other websites to warn others about this fraud. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can help others avoid this nightmare and expose Abby car hire for their dishonest and unethical practices. I would never recommend Abby car hire to anyone and I advise everyone to stay away from them. They are the worst car rental company ever and they deserve to be shut down.
