I have invested in 3 Abundance projects.United Downs Geothermal project. Closed down. Got my initial money back plus 2%. This represents a loss because it was supposed to pay 12% interest.
GDFC services is in trouble as it needs to borrow more money. The best scenario for current debenture holders is that they may get their investment back 5 to 10 years down the road. The worst scenario is administration and we will lose all our money.Celtic Renewables has big problems with the Scottish government who were supposed to be a major funder and now are not.

I've been investing with Abundance for a few years now. I originally invested because I liked the idea of investing in sustainable projects. Whilst not all the projects have delivered the anticipated returns, the documentation has been very clear on the risks of investing. Any queries I have had have been dealt with promptly and efficiently (even outside normal working hours). Their website makes it easy to see the status of investments and expected future payments. I'm happy to continue to support the investments offered by Abundance.
excellent platform - easy to use, straightforward and great returns; and most important of all, peace of mind that my investments are supporting a better future for us all.
Really great platform & great idea - love it
Having had the opportunity to follow Abundance over the past few years I have to say that I am impressed; Abundance has stayed close to its mission and has kept expending its portfolio and building up the sustainable assets!
In my opinion Abundance could become the new gold standard for shared sustainable investment.
Carry on!
I must be missing a trick with all these 4 and 5 star reveiws! The Abundance concept is great but its a pain to invest in existing projects via their marketplace unless you want to pay a mark up to buy off existing investors. The average mark up will routinely wipe out most if not all of your first year or more of returns and bring down the overall return below the published return. At the time of writing there was only one new project to invest in so building a diversified portfolio looks like its going to be a long time coming unless you want to line the pockets of others via the marketplace.
Update- been with them a few years now and things are still the same with getting started investing but I have increased the rating because once you get invested things are good
Excellent, reliable way for us Ethical and Green folk to put our money where our mouth is.
They also keep you up to date with new projects and issues.
Abundance are straightforward, open in their website, showing exactly obviously how to do things, how to search for more information and when I've had to phone them I've had friendly helpful sincere communications.
They are informative and clear. I have been with them for a few years now and have built up trust as to how they deal with me, their customer, regarding various businesses and investments.
Great interface, straightforward to deal with, clear and succinct. Never had issues
Interesting alternative investments from a great provider. Simple investment process, simple to withdraw or reinvest your returns. A fair choice of investment options. Pick the ones that suit you when they come along and remember not to put all your eggs in one basket.
Never had problem. Always helpful. Great variety of ethically sourced projects providing good returns. Keep up all the good work.
Great in general. I would love to see many small-scale solar panel projects (e.g. for a school) appear!
Easy to use, clear explanations of the available investments - especially the social/environmental aspects. So far all the ones I have tried have been successful and paid out as advertised.
Move onto blockchain and you'll find the opportunities for yourselves and your customers expand exponentially.
I don't see a point in investing in companies that destroy the world I want to retire and my children to thrive in. For my modest savings, Abundance offer a great way to invest money into an IFISA. It requires a bit of work in terms of choosing and diversifying your investments. The integrated marketplace is very useful and gives Abundance an advantage over, say, triodoscrowdfunding.co.uk: if you want to get money out of your investments before the end of the term you can try to sell it free of charge.
good to be able to trade in renewable energy projects.
Statements for tax purposes could be better.
One investment currently in default, rating will change depending on how they deal with this though they have kept us informed on progress.
