I only wish Academy Sports had more locations. Their prices are great and have a wide selection of products. About 6 months ago (during the height of the pandemic) their stock ran very low. But this was due to supply from Asia. They used to have dozens of bicycles and then nothing. But that wasn't their fault. Now I think more products are in stock.
Stay far away from this company and shady practices.
I ordered a pool on march 17th and have yet to receive it. The package was due before the 31st. I called and called the shipping company and academy sports just to get the run around. It takes around 15-30 mins to get academy on the phone. It takes over 45 mins to get the shipping company EFW on the phone or chat if you actually get in touch with anyone. Academy will just say oh its been escalated to management. What's that do you ask? It does absolutely nothing. I finally did get EFW on the phone and i was told they could deliver next Wednesday on the 7th of april and if i wanted it sooner i would have to pick it up myself. If that's the case why did i pay 98 dollars for shipping? Maybe Academy sports should care more about their customers and check out the thousands of negative reviews on their shipping partner EFW. I will never recommend either company and will advocate against shopping with them.
Severe Delays
Ordered clothing online and was informed the order was packaged and ready for pickup. This has now been sitting for over a week and still hasn't shipped. The order cannot be cancelled and the customer service is a third party service and can do nothing to address the situation. Will not be shopping with them again.

There wasn’t a minus for experience so I had to put a 1. We went to Academy in Chattanooga, TN today to get my daughter around $400.00+ of MMA equipment. I have an autoimmune disease so my daughter saw all the stuff I was having to carry, due to no buggies, and asked to carry it. She put all the stuff in a Nike bag, which I watched her do and replied that was pretty smart, we were also purchasing the bag and left it unzipped with the contents overflowing the bag. We were in the camping section near the back of the store when my daughter came around the corner, where we were, and an employee came up from behind my daughter and snatched the bag off her shoulder telling her she was stealing and to leave the store and she would never be allowed to come back. Little did he know that we were standing right there and were her parents.
As soon as my husbands temper kicked in the employee, maybe manager, started back-peddling, saying they had been watching her on camera and thought she was stealing. If they had been watching her on camera, they would have known and seen, that she was with her parents. He did this in the back of the store in the camping section. I could have understood if she was confronted at the very front of the store thinking she was trying to walk out with the stuff.
I first told him if he was so worried, then he could take it all to a register, we would pay for it once we got to the front of the store, then my anger kicked in, and I told him to forget it, we would leave and take our money somewhere else. I should have called the police and pressed charges for touching my minor daughter in the first place. Didn’t think of it until my temper cooled.
I will never shop at another Academy Sporting Goods Store because apparently they assume everyone is trying to steal their overpriced crap.
We went to Dick’s Sporting Goods and spent the money there. We were treated respectfully and continuously asked if we needed any help.
I will be letting my 3,000+ customers, in my store, know about the experience and to stop shopping there. Very rude, disrespectful, and bullying attitude from Academy.

Terrible experience
I am trying to complete an order and their website will not allow me to enter the full shipping address. I attempted to chat with them to complete the order and Alexis was not helpful at all. She wouldn't assist me and told me that I needed to call the order in. I will just go somewhere else. It isn't worth the unnecessary effort. No empathy and she was short/rude.
Quality Control and customer service…
Quality Control and customer service are both terrible. I purchased a pair of pants for my son. The first time he wore them they appeared short, even though they are the same size as others that fit him. After washing them and hanging them up for the first time, I noticed that they had different lengths of legs on each side. One side had an inseam of 18.5" an the other had an inseam of 20". I messaged their chat service and they offered me a 10% coupon to buy a new pair. No thanks! Then, they gave me an email to contact. The email was NEVER responded to.

Completely horrible customer service i love the store but man they will literally hire anyone. Most the employees aren’t pleasant or helpful. I believe if they had self checkout you would never see an employee if you looked to be in need of help.

Great first experience
Great first experience. I almost didn't buy from them when I read the other reviews online about their stores and online shopping experience.
I only bought the merchandise because I found exactly what my niece wanted for Christmas and I wasn't doing so great finding it anywhere else.
It was shipped and arrived quickly and is exactly as advertised. The price was great which also worried me a bit since when I've found other items like this one they were significantly more. I got a fleece Columbia womens jacket for $29 and I could not find one like this anywhere else for less than $60.
I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived quickly and is definitely just as ordered.

How can a company be trusted when they sell inferior products like Cannon safes, an other Cannon products made by Cannon? Cannon's Lifetime warranty is fake.. Read fine print or wait till you need to get in safe an your locked out. Cannon told me to hire locksmith an i had to pay for it. Cannon also told me they would NOT REPLACE safe that had to be drilled because their locks FAIL to include telling me they would not replace even the door to put putty in hole . Cannon safes are a joke... what ever you do dont put Anything you cant live without in it like medication, all your money, guns,..... JUST DONT BUY CANNON or anything made by Cannon which makes other safes...
Helping Hubby Get Ready For Hunting
Recently, I helped my husband get ready for his hunting trip where we decided to go to Academy knowing it would be a one-stop shopping project. Everything he could possibly need was there. While I shopped for his hunting shirts, hat, gloves, matching pants, and jacket, he had a helpful employee catering a great variety of hunting boots in just his right size. At checkout, we managed to take care of the hunting license, too. Great store for quality products and for the one-stop convenience!
I like Academy
I like Academy. They have pretty good sales and shop promptly. Their name brand clothes are not the best quality, so the fit is not always consistent, hence the 4 stars instead of 5, but overall an excellent merchant.

I bought my granddaughters school uniform polo style shirts. I have bought uniform shirts from different online vendors and in stores. Academy was buy far the best constructed, best material shirt I ever bought from anywhere. I can wash them and put them in the dryer they come out looking soft , wrinkle free and still looking brand new. I both every color they had. The price for the shirts were the best price I ever found anywhere. They were shipped quickly and neatly. I will MOST CERTAINLY BUY THEM AGAIN WHEN ACADEMY GETS THEM IN STOCK AGAIN. i advise anyone who has school age children who are required to wear a uniform to look no further. Buy your school uniforms here. You can't go wrong
CUSTOMER SERVICE
Online orders and so called offering of Customer Service LOL 😝Their is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I had my large numerous orders last year so messed up from them it took almost 4 months after Christmas to get it straight. Spoiling my sons Christmas and gifts among our faith in them. However, stupid me and Mother’s love for kids attempting again in forgiveness and going for kids Xmas shopping early. MESSED UP AGAIN! Never shipped, processed payments, then they cancelled items on me etc. Called NUMEROUS times. Either never answered after on hold 40 plus minutes then, hour etc or when got someone they hung up or told me to go online. NO RESPONSE from LIVE CHAT and no Emails Back. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE/ NO MORE CUSTOMER.😠😱🤔

I changed this from 2star to a 4star because the last few times ordered I did receive a tracking number... And, service for issues related..Yay! Keep it up!
