Being self employed makes getting your 1st property a little more difficult. (Or so i thought) I went through 6 different mortgage advisors from different companies. Until finally finding Active Mortgages who specialise in self employed mortgages. I recieved a download of Gary Das's book 'The self-employed mortgage guide' and from there i knew this was someone who gets it. Active Mortgages Were fantastic from beginning to end. We had a few advisors. Our first advisor Jamie had unfortunately left part way through but he was still fantastic. I then had Dan and he was amazing. He took over and helped us get the best mortgage offer. He did an amazing job putting our mortgage application through even finding us a better offer than initially expected.
He was available whenever we had questions and was so helpful. We had a response from the lender within days. They were so quick and on the ball to help whenever we needed advise. The whole team were amazing and really did bend over backwards to get the best for me. Rob found me a brilliant deal for life insurance and income protection; even better than what i was paying currently. All staff were so friendly, helpful and really went all out. Even wishing my a happy birthday. I thought buying my first home was never going to happen as I was self employed but Active Mortgages really are the best! And I cannot thank them enough for all the hard work they put in to help me from beginning to end.
I would highly recommend them to everyone.

We've used Ian at Active Mortgages for our mortgage renewal and more recently for life insurance and income protection. The process was simple, and Ian was really good at explaining everything. Having dealt with others before, it was nice to have someone genuinely interested in helping us out. Even after everything was sorted, he kept giving us advice and support on canceling old policies we didn't need anymore. I've recommended him and will keep doing so.
