I had the most wonderful time on the 5 day acting course with Clare Holman. She put me at ease from Day 1 and I learnt a lot about how to improve my acting techniques to ensure that I had 2 professional showreels.
Clare had lots of expertise that made the whole experience enjoyable and I can take away lots of valuable information to enhance my skills.
I cannot recommend Actors Studio enough. A great team and well organised.

Power of the actor - an intense but very useful week!

The tutor Christina Chong was brilliant and we worked on two scenes over the week using the Chubbock technique which was very useful. But you have to be prepared to be pushed and dig deep to get the most out of it. All the way through Christina was very encouraging and clearly cared deeply about getting the very best from us.

The power of the actor, 5-day Chubbuck technique was advertised on Instagram, when saw the Instagram post I clicked the link that took me to the actors studio Web page where I discovered more about what the course had to offer, and I was instantly inspired upon discovering purpose of the 12 tools technique in acting, which is to infuse yourself with the character.

My newfound interest Is self-studying human psychology and social sciences. This has led me to read many books on the subject psychology, anthropology and the study primate behaviour and cognition.

This course had it all, how and why people behave, how to determine the psyche of the character in the script. For every action there's a reaction, whether it be trauma, love or anger, this technique truly helps recreate this.

All credit goes to our tutor Christina Chong for structuring the course so well. We were able to rehearse two prepared scenes, either a monologue or duologue, rework the scenes, and choose a scene to film on the final day of the course.

This course has been very insightful, and I now look forward to progressing towards an acting career.

INCREDIBLE… INTENSE, BUT INCREDIBLE!

Yes, I was very fortunate to spend a week learning all about Ivana Chubbuck’s famous The Power Of The Actor ‘12-step Chubbuck’ technique with Christina Chong from the 23-27 of January and have come away feeling like a completely new and focused actor.

To be able to work with this technique, you need to find the courage and strength to dig-deep within, and once you’re able to access some emotional truths and traumas, you won’t look back.

I would say it’s half acting course and half therapy. It’s not easy, but trust me, there can be real empowerment in raw honesty and re-visiting the darker parts of your past. I guess that’s why it’s called The POWER Of The Actor.

We all took on two famous movie scenes and were partnered up to work on applying the twelve steps to the script to become living, breathing and dynamic characters, and I can safely speak for everyone when I say that we didn’t stop learning from day one, absorbing this intense, but amazing method so well, and I honestly feel that we all came of the class feeling stronger and even more determined to make our acting ambitions come true.

Christina was on 110% form from day one, start to finish, morning to evening, and in my opinion, has improved me immensely as an actor already - and I was only with her for just 5 days.

She challenged me, questioned me, empowered me, and I consider myself very lucky that I got the chance to work with such an acting powerhouse.

Thank you to the amazing team at the Actor’s Studio for providing me with yet another fantastic and informative course - I’d love to do it all over again.

And finally, to Christina and my acting colleagues, best of luck with your careers going forward - it was so lovely to get to know you all and work with you - you were all truly amazing.

What a fabulous superbly organised day!! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Actors Studio to anyone looking to have a showreel put together. The whole experience was extremely professional and the end result was exactly what I was looking for.

I booked the 5 day showreel course with Tim Kent. He spent a lot of time with our group going over screen acting basics and exercises and then straight into learning a script and filming it! There is no better way to learn than having the camera on you!
The first 2 days you learn a lot about acting. During the following 3 days of rehearsals and filming your showreel you learn a lot about yourself.
The group of actors on this course were really good fun and supportive.
The crew and other directors worked so hard to get the best out of us for our showreels. All amazing, generous, hardworking people running this course!

As a people development specialist I’d say 5-days screen acting with a showreel was one of the best built trainings I have been on. Why? First of all I dislike wasted time and there was none of that. Everything was clear, hands on, practical and superuseful. The directors working with us were amazing and true professionals from the industry. I was so amazed by the sheer talent that I had the privilege to meet during the week. And tbh it was well worth the money. I have been trained from US to Singapore as a training specialist and I have paid way more for way less. I am in awe! Also just google what was filmed in Pinewood and you’ll be amazed that you are let into a place like this and greeted with open arms.. wow! I am very thankful!

I had an amazing time at the Actor's Studio. Not only because of the great group I was in or the kind and professional people I was able to work with; I have learned a lot about the technical part of acting and my confidence has grown tremendously. I better understand now what I need to do to look good on camera and how to convey a message while doing it. This past month has changed my point of view on acting but also on my work ethic. Learning a new scene everyday has opened my eyes on what I am capable of doing and how to use every minute wisely the moment you get home. This experience was life-changing for me and I am very grateful to have been able to work with these incredible talented people.

Ours was the first course to be split, with the first three weeks in London and the last in Pinewood. This worked really well, and with the London venue in the heart of The Regent's Park we had a fantastic source of solitude and tranquility on our doorstep, especially good when learning lines! All the tutors were experts in their field and committed to each one of us learning and growing. To spend four weeks in the company of highly motivated, talented and generous fellow participants was a dream. We made friends for life sharing this powerful experience. Going to Pinewood for the final week seemed extra special, and the support we got from all the crew and staff was fantastic. If you want to learn from scratch or polish your skills and are prepared to work hard, this course delivers 100%. Thoroughly recommended.

Truly the best screen acting training experience. The masterclass in screen acting has taught me wonders about the industry from technicalities to the artistry to how to build yourself in the business.

The tutors we had were very knowledgable and great to learn from, each of them teaching different skills that they specialise in or have had great experience in doing. Every day was very intense but super interesting as you are constantly learning things to build your craft and knowledge of the industry. The tutors really focus on building each individual rather than just teaching the group as a whole which was very helpful.

This course had really challenged me every day, feeling tired as I got home and learning scripts everyday. The bar was set to high standards which really pushed me to come out as a much better actor.

I really loved my group, everyone was so dedicated whilst having lots of fun along the way and made some amazing friends. It was very rewarding in the end for all of us as we completed filming our showreels. Worth it, I would do it again!

This is a brilliant course - so much content taught by amazing experienced tutors who are still working in the world of TV and Film. To do a course in Pinewood is lovely and the week filming the bespoke showreels was a brilliant finale. Highly recommend this course to anyone who wants to work in TV and film

I did the April-May Acting Masterclass 2022.
I highly recommend it to anyone who comes across it. It is great for all level, I had no experience in acting and was concerned about where I would fit in but found the course was highly adaptable and put everyone at a place where they could grow from where they were. The course content was great, the location was very enjoyable, the people were exceptional. It was an experience I will carry with me and I couldn't have imagined a better way to start my acting journey. Thank you.

The Masterclass in Screen Acting at Pinewood was an absolute honour to study. The course itself is brilliantly structured over four weeks. It's designed to open your eyes to the technical and emotional aspects of acting for screen, that up to this point, I have was not aware of at all.

It's open to all levels, and the course itself is so hands-on and challenging - each week stretched everyone's abilities. There was so much time in front of camera and we got to work through a range of brilliantly written material.

The crew are absolutely fantastic and really make the course what it is - from talented and inspiring teachers, directors, scriptwriters, 1st ADs, camera crew, lighting and sound technicians - they're all inspiring in their own way.

Honestly, I wish I could do it again and I hope Pinewood will do a follow-up course so I have a reason to come back, learn and walk the hallways of their campus again!

Do you want to learn more about the art of Multi-Cam filming and all that it includes; scene blocking, hitting marks, screen technique, your relationship with the camera, set technical aspects, time critical filming process etc.. This course delivered it all - and couple that to the fact it was led by Jane Ashmore, who is one of the leading Directors in ‘Continuing Drama’ in the UK right now. Be prepared - it is an intensive 3-day workshop run at a fast pace tackling all aspects of playing to more than one camera. Earlier this year I completed the Screen Acting Masterclass (see review) and this course complimented that nicely. Recommended.

I have completed the 3 day ‘Acting for Multi-Cam’ course led by Jane Ashmore and thoroughly enjoyed it!
Jane is an absolute credit to the course. She’s runs a tight schedule with a professional manner. I learnt so much from her. She is constantly giving out information to the group and individual feedback through out.
Definitely recommend this course, with Jane (Specifically) if you are serious about being prepared to work on UK TV!

I did the three-day course on Acting for Sitcom and Soap Opera. It was fantastic. Highly professional with equal emphasis on acting technique and skills. As well as learning the lingo and etiquette, we learned how to navigate and understand what happens on set. We were very lucky to have Jane Ashmore as our director. She was nurturing while also getting the best out of everyone. She maintained a professional atmosphere while making you feel relaxed. I wish there was a 'Level Two', for this course as I would sign up right away!

The Children's Actors studio workshop was fantastic, and I learned an incredible amount over just two days. I highly recommend and would attend the course again as I enjoyed it so much. Liliana (age 11)

The "Masterclass in Screen Acting - Pinewood Studios" is their 4 week intensive course that will set your acting sail.

That or you may realise, you need to build a new sail altogether.

Almost every single day on the course, could be split into its own individual workshop. Working with different professionals in the field on so many different elements of the industry, the scope covered in 20 days is exhaustive - in a good way.

This is certainly no walk in the park, you will be pushed in mentally and emotionally novel ways, ways not provoked before. You will surprise yourself!

If you have no acting experience this course is perfect, if you already have acting experience, this course likewise, is perfect.

Coming away from the course myself, I know what I must do now to progress. I know where my fears lie and I surely combatted some of them throughout this very masterclass.

Covering the course in detail would require an essay. To put it shortly, if you have the time, money and curiosity, then go for it.

Pro Tips: Go for the USB option, you will be recorded in front of cam a lot. Live close to Pinewood with Airbnb or something, you will thank me. The canteen has great food, but for snacks, seek the Jewson store.

I'm still reflecting on my time at Pinewood and currently, looking forward to the two edited showreels coming my way sometime in the near future. I will update when I receive them.

Really impressed by the quality of this course and had a lot of fun doing it. I am fairly new to this business and now feel much more confident pursuing acting and have made some useful contacts in the process. If you are looking at a number of different places, this is definitely the one to go for. Also, mooching around Pinewood is just very cool :D
