I will never use this service again…
I will never use this service again absolute rubbish service and the almost double the price you paid whe it comes to customs charges. Avoid

Just used AddressPal this week for the very last time. They are basically stealing your money with no recourse or accountability. A UK order for £48 which converted to €59 with PayPal was valued at €98 for the 23% vat charge. That’s over 60% of inflated value with no explanation; no appeals or challenge process. The attitude seems to be pay up or your parcel gets sent back. If you must purchase from the UK - find an alternative delivery option😟
Slow, slow, slow...........................
Item sat in the NJ warehouse for four days before being processed, now eleven days later and it still has not even cleared customs.
Communication and providing information is incredibly poor - Their tracking system is a joke, apparently the parcels are in Dublin, yet according to the tracking system they are in NJ!
I have no issue with customs charges or an post charging to administer those charges, that is the cost of buying abroad, but to be honest I should have paid the extra few euros for Fedex, I would have had my goods 10 days ago..........
Dreadful service
Everything I’ve bought I’ve been made to pay a rather large customs fee on it. €13.49 on my last order of €40 is a joke. Takes a lengthy time to arrive also. I miss parcel motel .
Absolute Garbage Service
The package arrived damaged with the book I ordered inside also damaged, did absolutely nothing to rectify, ended up having to pay addresspal twice once for the damaged delivery and once for the replacement. You would know they are the only company left doing this service because no one would use this them twice if they had an option. Absolute garbage!
Items missing during the transit
Items missing during the transit. No way to file a claim.
An post reminder
An post reminder. Your people delivered mail in a wrong address. It happened several times already in us. Do your job diligently.
Avoid at all costs
A really terrible service. Similarly services from private couriers have ceased after Brexit, so I decided to try AddressPal but it was so poor. I would not use again and discourage anyone else from doing it - I would genuinely rather ask a friend to take delivery and send an item to me via private courier, and I'd reimburse them.
It's €6.50 per use, which is high relative to other services -- and it takes 3-4 days typically, which is longer than what Parcel Motel used to offer but again, they're no longer offering this service (virtual UK addresses for ROI customers) so I made do with An Post.
Despite the larger service fee, you're also charged a processing fee on top of your customs. Customs have to be paid, there's no point arguing that, but I was shocked to pay an additional 3.50 fee given the already large service fee.
There were COVID related delays which is fair enough -- two weeks is a terribly long time to wait though, whatever the excuse. Worse again, the item got through customs, I paid my fee, and it was in Dublin -- where it sat for a week before moving. Not including customs, a total of ten euro in charges for the thing to sit in Dublin for a week.
Then, when it finally moved and was sent for delivery, it was the most useless tracking/proof of delivery imaginable. On the website, my tracking number says it was delivered at 7.30 at the Post depot -- not my address. I went to the local depot who said no, it was at my building but it was anyone's guess where, as the tracking number just said the name of my nearest depot. It doesn't say anything about my building, where it was dropped, who signed for it -- any of that. And there was no phone call or similar from the driver to actually try and give it to me when he delivered it. Again, any other courier service that would charge you a tenner would a) ring you to deliver the package and b) have better proof of delivery/signature services to avoid this confusion.
Hi anyone using anpost / Addresspal its…
Hi anyone using anpost / Addresspal its just crazy i know neighbours and myself are still yet to recieve christmas cards let alone Parcels Beware if using Addresspal no matter the size of the parcel you will be charged €6.50 handling charge then anpost will charge you €6.50 + €3.50 and when it hits customs you are hit with another nasty surprise they hit you in the pocket again.
Lazy, stupid and 100% unable to do anything right
Lazy, stupid and 100% unable to do anything right.
A shipment from Uk to Ireland takes 2 weeks and the price for the service is ridiculous.
STAND AND DELIVER
Welcome to the latest version of highway robbery, you pay for delivery An post will then make up a valuation for VAT purposes far in excess of the true value of the item, you can contest the valuation if your prepared to wait several weeks and e-mails suggesting you pay their valuation and threats of returning the item to sender, then you pay An post again for a handling charge plus the VAT. Incompetent or corrupt, you decide i have, Never again.
Major Trust issues with this company
Like many thing that end up corrupted, this company started off with a simple idea which seemed to work.
However over the years like most things Irish they have managed to Fck it up with the constant need to be progressive and innovative. They have lost a couple of deliveries with no apologies not a toss given. This latest BS with customs charges on top of the 16€ fee is the last straw for me.
an item bought for $12 plus €16 address pal fee now they want to slap €9.60 on top for admin. Pity they couldn't provide the service they introduced originally.
Like most things in this country it's on a downward spiral.
AddressPal is an absolute disgrace
AddressPal is an absolute disgrace. Buying from the UK is supposed to be made handy. I bought goods from Amazon and was expecting to pay revenue as normal however they valued the goods at almost four times the cost resulting in ridiculous charges and even after paying immediately when they say they have the order from UK it's nearly a week and they haven't delivered. Trying to get anyone to reply from their e commerce office to query the costs is ridiculous. This is a terrible service from An post and I'll never use it again.
It’s a very slow delivery service
It’s a very slow delivery service, I paid the customs 6 days ago and the package is still not here. Looks like Anpost have joined the rest of the government semi state companies in a race to the bottom. This company use to be one of the best services we had. This is a public service and not a business. I sent a card to Germany and they posted it to Canada, eventually the Canadians sent it to Germany. In all the years, I have been using them this year has been just terrible. You could blame brexit but somehow I think it’s more then that. I bought something from Galway and it took them 7 days to deliver. Irish businesses are suffering because of this, Amazon will take their place. I hope someone in anpost Managment reads this review.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible, I wouldn’t touch them with a barge pole. Overcharging for items, adding double customs and refusing to refund money. Alongside breaking up two parcels so they can charge extra for the goods beyond ridiculous.
Slow Service and Charging per Item in the Parcel
On Monday morning, Addresspal received my parcel, on Tuesday evening they asked me to pay customs and I paid straight away. It’s Saturday evening and the delivery status has not changed since Tue even though it was supposed to be delivered within 3-4 business days, ‘Custom charges have been paid. Your item will be processed and delivered to you as soon as possible. Please hold tight while we work through high volumes.’ Very poor service and on top of the delay, they are not charging 6.50 for the parcel delivery, but they already charged me twice, I suppose for each item in my parcel. Use this service only if you HAVE TO.
The Irish Mafia
If you have a friend or relative in the UK get your parcels sent to them and have them post them to Ireland. My son sends me goods from time to time and Ive never once had to pay vat. It really is the only way. I am sick to death of AddressPal overcharging on every single parcel that they handle for me. I have it in writing from AddressPal that the 6.50 fee includes tax and, as such, is NOT subject to further vat yet, every single time, they've charged me vat at 23% on the 6.50.This is on top of the cost of vat on made up customs declarations. To make things worse the e-comm team totally ignores complaints and it's a case of 'pay the invoice or we confiscate your parcel'. Since Brexit it feels like we're living in some sort of Banana Republic where the postal service is run by the mafia. I will not be using AddressPal again.
Don't go anywhere near them!
Total liars and in breach of EU advertising standards. They flaunt their An Post parent credentials - but essentially just a cowboy operation. Their actual fee is EUR 10.00 yet they advertise 6.50
Another thing they don't advise - is - if you are buying in the UK there is a double VAT charge (1. UK 20 pc. + IR 23 pc) This doesn't make economic sense. Yet they know that their potential customers are not tax experts. So lying about the total cost, by being economical with the truth, makes them frauds. Don't go anywhere near them
Twice refused to accept goods for forwarding.
Twice Addresspal have refused delivery of a tub of a dry cement mix stating that liquids are prohibited even though the parcels contained no liquid. I had contacted Addresspal after the first refusal but did not get any reply.
19 euro went to 32.50!!!!!
This service makes no economic sense
I had no choice but purchase an item from the U.K., retail value 19 euro.
First An Post charge 6.50 euro to deliver.
Second An Post charge 3.50 to act as a customs agent (you've no choice
here even if it's Revenue's job to do this - real Irish)
Total 10 euro to An Post, item now costing 29 euro.
Next customs charge 3.50, TOTAL now
32.50 euro!!!!!
Ps. Don't be in a rush to get your delivery either, charging customers takes time!
