As a family we can not thank Danny, Jess and the whole of ADK9 enough!
Our beautiful yet crazy Border Collie Sukie came into kennels for a 10 day stay for reactivity through being so nervous and stressed on walks.
I was so worried about leaving her in kennels as shes always stayed with family for holidays. When leaving Sukie the first day my heart sank but I hoped it was for the best for us all.

After 10 long days and amazing communication in between with pictures and messages I couldn’t believe how well she was doing. Then we finally got to pick her up!
Never did I think the team would pull off such amazing training with her!! We’ve been to so many trainers previous that I kind of just expected the same.

She walked like a dream on the lead, enjoyed playing with other dogs and to my amazement she ignored an extremely reactive dog just coming into kennels! Whilst watching Sukie play with Chip we could see a stress free and happy Sukie and it was truly overwhelming.

Danny and all of the ADK9 team haven’t just changed Sukie for the better but they’ve changed our lives!
We can finally walk in busier places without feeling anxious and stressed.
Yes we have our little blips but I have the confidence that we can do this!
Worth every penny and wish we had come to you first and saved!

I honestly can’t thank Danny enough for looking after and working with Ghost for us. We got Ghost our German shepherd the day of lockdown last year as we were asked to pick him up a week early to ensure we could still travel to get him. In the house he has always been so well behaved and exactly what anyone would want. But we were having problems with him being nervous around strangers even out on walks due to him not getting as much social interaction as he needed due to lockdown. He would bark just walking past people and although he was fine with other dogs off his lead, when on his lead he would immediately bark and pull to get to the dog as he didn’t know how to communicate that he wanted to play and with how big he is this does look scary to people who didn’t know him. He also could only be walked really on a halty lead due to him pulling. As we were due to go away, we were very anxious about putting him a kennels with how nervous he is around strangers so when we found ADK9s site and read through the training element we could make use of rather than just the boarding facilities it was a no brainier to us. Throughout his stay Danny kept us updated with emails and videos which really helped settle us seeing how well he had settled in and was doing. When we picked ghost up, Danny walked us through all the things he has worked on and it was amazing to be walking ghost to heel whilst also having other dogs walking around us with ghost focusing solely on walking to heel and not paying much attention at all to the other dogs compared to what he used to be like. Although I have only had him out for one walk as we gave only just got him back, the difference is immediate to see. Although I know it will take time and a lot of work still, he walked so well to heel and didn’t bark at anyone or any dogs he saw and it was a really enjoyable walk which unfortunately it had not been prior to his time at ADK9. I can’t recommend them enough and we have also booked ghost back in to use the boarding facilities this time round in September when we are away with how well he did whilst there! I made contact with ADK9 as walking my dog Kammy became difficult with her pulling and always wanting to meet every dog she could see. She was very shy and anxious of the world around her and she had some issues with jumping up and didn't really like strangers. I can honestly say this was the BEST decision that we have ever made! Kammy has been very calm since she has returned home and walking her is an actual dream.
We missed her so much as she was away for 12 days but her trainer Jordan sent emails and videos over and I couldn't believe how well she was doing.
When we picked Kammy up Jordan walked through everything we needed to do and how to correct her behaviours. We have been using all techniques Jordan taught us and all is going well!
Very happy with the service that was provided and so much happier now I have a much more happier and loving dog!

I couldn’t recommend ADK9 and Jess more to anyone. We really struggled with our reactive French bulldog and though there is still work to be done, the 10 days spent on a residential course couldn’t of been better. From the daily updates and the detailed handover. He now walks to heel and calms down so much quicker when seeing other dogs. It has given me and my husband so much more confidence that he can be a happy dog on walks. If anyone is debating booking their dog in, all I can say is I wish I had done it years ago. Couldn’t thank Jess more for her hard work and approachable manner.

To put the bottom line up front, Danny and the team at ADK9 have totally changed our relationship with our dog. Our GSD/border collie rescue, Dutch, finished his 10 day residential training about 5 days ago. Dutch was in training mainly for reactivity and fear; he was attacked by another dog while on leash a year ago and this resulted in him having leash aggression to other, large dogs and general fear of meeting/seeing new dogs while on the lead. Dutch also had a bad case of "stranger danger," and in particular was very afraid of men. He was also reactive to large objects and really anything new/unusual while out on walks. Because he is a big dog, his reactions were also big, and sometimes even scary to others walking by. We have tried multiple trainers, read dozens of books, and watched hundreds of hours of videos on how to lessen the severity of Dutch's reactions, but nothing seemed to stick. As a last resort, we decided to give ADK9 a try. I want to say, I read all the Reddit posts, all the blogs, all the criticism of residential training for reactive/fearful dogs, and I was especially nervous given Dutch's particular fear of strangers/men. But from the moment we dropped Dutch off and he RAN into Danny's arms, I knew we had nothing to worry about. It is clear Danny has a compassion and talent for working with dogs. Over the ten days Dutch was in Chesterfield, we received regular updates from Danny, and when we picked him up he was shiny and clean. Our handover lasted nearly two hours; Danny and the rest of his team made sure we had all of the guidance we needed to keep up Dutch's progress at home. At pick-up, we were amazed at how well Dutch was walking to heel and how infatuated he was with Danny. He was literally prancing like a show pony while walking past other dogs, people he had never seen before, and even another employee carrying an armful of large objects.

But it's when we got home and got back into our routine that I noticed the true value of the training. I struggled a bit to give well-timed commands to Dutch for the first day or so, but once I recalled what Danny had said and followed it word-for-word, Dutch responded immediately. I don't know how they did it, but Dutch has a much better relationship with all the men we know; he even allowed our male neighbor to pet him (this is huge, huge progress) and enjoyed it! Our first walk with Dutch we encountered a HUGE trigger--two large dogs off leash ran up to him and started barking--and while Dutch did react, he bounced back so quickly and we were able to walk away calmly. It's like all of Dutch's intensity (over-excitement on the good and bad end of the spectrum) has been turned down a notch and is now more manageable. We have really taken to heel training- we have been doing sessions every day, and it is one of the few things that tires this dog out.

Dutch and I are BOTH much more confident now. I feel like we can encounter anything, and Dutch will have a reasonable/appropriate reaction.

I wanted to write this review now as a reminder to myself that if I keep up Dutch's progress, he has the capability to be an amazingly obedient dog. I'm so thankful that Danny and his team set the foundations and gave us the tools we need to ensure he has a balanced and stress-free life.

I contacted ADK9 when i was having trouble with my two Beagles being reactive towards other dogs during our walks. From the very beginning the team were helpful, very knowledgable and very understanding of the issues we were having.
I was nervous about leaving the dogs for a period of time in somewhere new but once i arrived on site my mind was put straight at ease. Jess was fantastic and really made me feel comfortable leaving them. I received regular updates, photos and videos of the dogs progress and i was extremely pleased with the outcome when it came to collecting them. I can’t put in to words the difference their hard work has made to our daily routine.
I would definitely recommend ADK9 to anyone who is looking for professional, knowledgable and friendly assistance with their four legged friends. The help is there longterm and each dog is loved like their own during the stay.

We collected our Cockapoo Diesel from ADK9 on Easter Monday after a long ten days without him, we missed him so much!! All I can say, is the guys at this place are literally miracle workers and change lives! We can’t thank them enough for the work they have done with Diesel. He’s a different dog, so much calmer and well behaved. His trainer was Danny who has just been brilliant right from initial contact, keeping us updated throughout his stay. Danny brought him out to us when we arrived to collect him and spent time with us going over what he had learned and how we can continue his progress at home, he wanted to make sure we were completely confident and happy with the training before we left so that we can help Diesel keep up the good work. He’s very knowledgeable and you can tell he’s very passionate about his job and loves all dogs! Dog walks before ADK9 were a disaster, we can now walk him confidently and happily! He walks to heel lovely and we no longer have to feel anxious seeing other dogs or people out and about! He is so focused now it’s unbelievable and it feels so good knowing we can confidently correct him when needed and he will listen! Can’t believe it’s the same crazy dog we left there, we joked that they must have swapped him for a lookalike! If you’re thinking of sending your dog here - DO IT! Worth every penny and will change your life, it has taken so much stress out of our family and we’ll be forever grateful. Danny and team are highly skilled, professional and friendly people and love what they do - will recommend them to everyone. Thankyou so much.

Totally honesty my anxiety levels were through the roof at the thought of leaving my likkle man Louis.
So Louis was booked in for 10 days with Jess, no major issues just typical Boxer jumping, pulling and generally not listening if you are a boxer owner then you know what I mean 😂
We received regular updates through msg, email & videos.
After 10 long days we arrived to pick Louis up, with as much time as needed hand over with Jess. WoW after the initial excitement of seeing us with no jumping up, we couldn’t believe how calm and relaxed he was, we must have spent at least two hours or more going through training he had received and how we continue this once home.
Once home and all settled we noticed bad habits slipping in with Louis and ourselves, a msg & video to Jess set us back on track. We have recently had a one to one with Jess to enforce the training & again give us the confidence that we are all doing okay.
Louis still has his boxer moments and wouldn’t change that for anything 😂
Would I recommend ADK9 100% yes you won’t regret it xx

We sent our 17 month old cocker spaniel Bonnie to ADK9 in January after they were recommended to us.
Bonnie was never a bad dog just very excitable! We originally got a dog as me and my partner love walking however, Bonnie began to pull that much that walks were no longer enjoyable for us or her, she would choke herself for the whole walk.
The whole drive there I was so so worried about leaving her but after chatting to Jess and Danny our minds were totally put at rest!
During her 9 day stay, we were kept up to date with pictures and videos of her progress, as soon as we received the video of her walking to heel we had smiles from ear to ear, we sent it to our families who also couldn’t believe the difference, she didn’t even look like the same dog!
On the day we collected her, Danny showed us what she had learnt and we were blown away, she was completely transformed but she had still kept her sassy personality (which we were worried she might loose).
Almost 2 months on, she’s still doing soooo well! She walks to heel so well, sits so nicely before we ever cross a road and is great at listening to instructions. Don’t get me wrong, she still has her moments where she thinks she knows best and tries to push her luck but thanks to the help from ADK9 we use the tips and tricks we learnt that snap her back into being a good girl.
Sometimes she walks to heel that well that we have to check she’s still there at the end of the lead!!! Walks are so much more enjoyable for us and our happy little lady!

I took Chester to ADK9 for a number of reasons. The last year he’s been attacked by two bigger dogs and he’s also been poorly with gastroenteritis, he’s also been let off with certain things which has allowed him to fall into bad habits. He became very aggressive towards his groomer in the last year, which led me to attempt to groom him at home myself which became a very stressful experience for me and Chester. I was very hesitant to find Chester some behavioural training as I was unsure and nervous about how he would be. However a friend recommend ADK9 after sending her dog there and had an amazing experience and results. I booked Chester in for a consultation where we met a trainer called Jess, just to have chat about the training Chester would receive and have that initial meet before sending him off, which made me so much more at ease. We booked Chester in for 2 weeks training for reactivity, general manners, walking to heel and also Behaviour issues. We was updated throughout the whole training process with emails, pictures and videos which made me smile and kept me at ease. Chester was trained by both Jess and Danny throughout his stay. We picked Chester up after his 2 weeks training where we had a little one to one session with Jess and Danny. They showed us what Chester had learnt throughout his stay and helped us adapt to his new training regime, so that we was able to work with him at home. Also ADK9 managed to groom Chester which I’ve not been able to do for such a long time after taking him to multiple groomers. So I would like to thank the groomer for all her hard work making my little fur baby look handsome again!
Chester now walks to heel and also sits outside when he’s told to do so and around other dogs. He doesn’t reacts half as much to other dogs and when he does we have the tools to deal with it and calm him down. I feel like he’s more alert listening to us more. This is a HUGE improvement and I’ll look forward to going back for one to one sessions to keep topped up on his training.
I would also like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Jess and Danny for preserving with Chester and teaching him he’s not boss 😂.
Honestly this will change our relationship with Chester now we have the tools to help him progress and become more confident and trusting.
I can not recommend ADK9 enough, they treat all dogs like they are their own and very caring and friendly people. If your thinking about sending your dog for training do it you will never look back, money was never an issue when it came to what was best for Chester. 🐶🐾❤️
If I could give more than 5 stars I would! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We decided to send out 18 month old GSD Duke to ADK9 after a recommendation. Duke was highly reactive (through frustration we know now) to many things including bikes, white vans, small children, skateboards etc and primarily other dogs, lunging and viciously barking. We had tried our best for as long a we could, but needed professional help, to help understand where is reactivity was coming from and what to do about it, before things got way out of hand. Jess was forthcoming and reassuring with all the info we needed prior to taking him there and totally at ease with Duke from the start. We were kept updated with emails and videos of his progress right through his 12 day stay. Jess even kept a close eye on his behavior in his kennel, as he took a few days to settle and took it out on his bed, so she swapped it out before it was destroyed! He settled well and was in sparkling good health on his return. On collection, Jess gave us as much time as we needed to go over with her what Duke had learned and to walk us through the correct techniques that we needed to learn. It was amazing to be able to walk past a strange dog, within a few feet, with Duke walking to heel like a pro! He even managed to meet and sniff without a grumble. Now home, he has been able to meet and greet people calmly, and is able to walk past dogs far more easily. It is still a work in progress with us, but we now have the knowledge and tools to keep up the training and we are able to call Jess anytime for continuing help and advice. Cannot fault the care from ADK9, Jess and Danny, and look forward to being able to have Duke stay again in the future for boarding and any further training.

Amazing experience for our 9 month old black lab, who was struggling with walking to heel, recall and general manners around the house. After 10 days with Danny we cannot believe the difference in our puppy, he is now no longer dragging us on a walk but walking gently at heel. His response to commands of sit, wait and leave it are outstanding. Obviously we need with training but again Danny has been super helpful in follow up steps. Thank you AD K9 and we would certainly recommend your services.

Our lively 2 year old GSD Mavis has just returned from a 10 day training stay at ADK9 and we are thrilled about the amazing progress shes made whilst there. She was constantly pulling on her lead and reactive to other dogs but now is able to walk to heel and she does not react to other dogs as she did before, however if she started to again then we are now confident we have the tools to stop this in its tracks. We will be keeping up to the training and applying the techniques shown by her trainer Danny (who was fantastic )and this is more than worth the effort for the improvement weve seen already. Mavis also ate well during her stay and returned to us in excellent condition and shape. We are very pleased and grateful for the services of ADK9 and wouldn't hesitate to use again.

Before we took our 7 months lab Rocky, he’s was a nightmare! He’d jump up at everyone, mouth everything/one and would pull me over on walk on a daisy basis!
Since we have had Rocky home from ADK9, he’s a completely different dog! He’s responds to our commands, he walks to heal! And as a please to be around, we are so proud of him.
I would 100% recommend ADK9 to anyone! They are friendly, reassuring and simply amazing!

Roxy was excitable and pulling on the lead made walking her more and more difficult and was no pleasure at all.
On arrival at Chesterfield Roxy immediately took to Danny our trainer and we were comfortable leaving her there with him.The emails during training kept us informed on her progress and were excellent.
When we picked her up after 10 days the results of Danny's training were impressive to say the least. Roxy seemed switched on , eager to please and happy and to our delight this has continued after she came home.
Walking on the lead is now a total pleasure and Roxy continues to listen well and responds to us in a way she didn't before. We are more confident handling her in areas that she is a work in progress and feel that the training at ADK9 has benefitted Roxy enormously and also shown us how to better handle our dog.
We would highly recommend both ADK9 and Danny our trainer and feel this has been a worthwhile experience with an excellent result.

BUZZ had behavioral issues. And under the supervision and training of Danny. BUZZ WAS reformed in 2 weeks I can only praise and thank the services provided by ADK9

My German shepherd was an absolute nightmare. I mean she would literally pull your arm off.. and it was a big if, if you'd even get as far as a walk because she would literally just try and pull you back to the front door. So so anxious!! She went to ADK9 for an initial stay of 10 days.. ended up staying for 13. We didny half miss her. But knew she was in good hands. And oh my what a difference. I have only had her back for 48hrs and the walks I have had with her so far are amazing compared to the struggle we used to have. Dont get me wrong, she isn't perfect but my is she good now. She walks by my side, she isn't bothered by passers by. She sits at the front door waiting to go for the walk rather than the rigmarole we used to have.
I honestly couldn't thank nor could I recommend Danny and ADK9 any more. If you're sat reading this review in two minds whether to use ADK9 or not.. then let me settle it for you and say just use them.. you won't be disappointed!
