I was assigned Maria Segura for a property rental dispute and, honestly, I expected far better service. After spending hundreds of pounds on letters and initial steps, the communication quickly became a major issue. Replies routinely took around two weeks, usually accompanied by different excuses, and I found myself constantly chasing for updates.

Although Maria was quick to take payment and begin the initial work, the responsiveness dropped off almost immediately afterwards. For a legal matter where timely guidance is essential, this level of communication simply isn’t acceptable. I also expected more in terms of professional advice and strategic insight. Instead, most of the correspondence focused on costs and procedural steps, with very little meaningful guidance or opinion on the case itself.

The lack of consistent communication and limited advisory input ultimately left me with no confidence in continuing with the service. I also reached out to AA directly for support regarding these issues, but they never intervened or addressed any of the concerns I raised about one of their own solicitors.

Based on my experience, I can’t recommend AA for anyone who needs reliable communication or proactive legal support.

EDIT: I have since seen Advocate Abroads reply it's in line with every other reply whereby people have not been happy wihyt their service. They seem to place all blame with the client.

I need to clarify that at no stage was I informed about delays, holiday closures, or the need for me to seek out further information myself. I was never told to expect long periods without communication, nor was I given any indication that progress would pause for weeks at a time.
You also refer to the review of over 500 documents as part of the explanation for delays, but this work was completed within the first week of instruction. The matter then continued for several months with no clear progress and without any explanation for the lack of communication.
In addition, I did not receive the legal guidance or strategic advice you describe. What I received were procedural updates and cost information, but no meaningful professional assessment of the case, its strengths, weaknesses, or recommended direction. For the fees involved, this level of support is simply not good enough.
While I acknowledge the preliminary steps completed, the absence of communication, the lack of legal guidance, and the failure to set expectations were the reasons I lost confidence in continuing. My review accurately reflects my experience
