Ahooga modular 8000 km
I bought a Modular april 2021 with the front and rear rack and I enjoy this bike a lot. I use to carry my son, my wife... but not together of course :) I use to load on my bike heavy bags with all the food for a week after click and collect of supermarket. Despite I had some problem with the console and the battery, all of this was quickly fixed by customer service and free of charge. This bike has a good looking and very smooth to drive, I ride 8000km so far and enjoy each treap every day !

Good idea - decent frame - poor components and customer experience
I bought an ahooga modular bike in October 2022 and have ridden it for about half a year now (+/- 600km) to work and back. I'm still convinced their concept is a good one (flexible and relatively inexpensive bike), the execution is however suboptimal at this point. Ordering the bike online was very easy. I remember the process for receiving the bike as quite the opposite. The after-sales department is probably (still) seriously understaffed, because they hardly ever reply to email (reaching them by phone is very difficult) and they have trouble meeting their self-imposed deadlines for instance when the bike would be ready for pick-up. After 600km, I am still happy with the frame and wheels (which contain the motor). In terms of components, shifting is fine but the unbranded hydraulic brakes are absolute rubbish up to the point where it is unsafe to drive around with. Very little stopping power in them right out of the store. Things have only gotten worse as the rear brake continuously has air in the brake cable housing (have mailed to the store about this a few months back but no reply). If you consider buying an Ahooga modular, take into account the lack of service you will be getting and the fact that you may have to swap out brakes (unless they changed to better components themselves by now) which will add to the cost. If you're fine with that, go for it.
EDIT: In response to the very speedy replies by Ahooga, some further nuance and background:
1/ there was indeed the one incident referred to by Ahooga. But there were also a few other (undocumented) poor communications between ordering and actual delivery. For instance, I was assured that the bike would be delivered well within 7 days as it was a stock model. It took 2 weeks longer (with no notification of delay of any sort). Not the biggest issue, but a promise they did not deliver on.
2/ There have been questions by email on the state of the brakes in January 2023. After these had not received a reply I did not bother anymore. I’m glad to see the customer experience team is monitoring Trustpilot. I’ll reach out again to hopefully have this resolved.
3/ I indeed received a discount as the bike was refurbished. I was told the bike was exactly the same as a new bike give or take a few cosmetic scratches (of which there were in fact none on my actual bike). I hope there is no causal link between the discount and the fact that the bike does not brake as it should ;-).

Als reactie op uw opmerkingen:
1) We herinneren ons één incident waarbij een nieuwe winkelmedewerker een afspraak voor pick-up had voorgesteld op een maandag, de sluitingsdag van de winkel. Een ongemak, dat geven we toe, maar vergissen is menselijk. In plaats van 12 september heeft u uw Modular in ontvangst kunnen nemen op 13 september.
2) Op één mail na in verband met de pick-up in september hebben we nadien geen mails meer van u ontvangen. Als u (nog steeds) euvels zou ondervinden, verzoeken we u vriendelijk te mailen naar hello@ahooga.bike. Een van onze medewerkers zal u met plezier helpen (en op korte termijn).
3) U heeft een korting ontvangen van €400,00 op uw fiets. Als het remsysteem niet aan uw verwachtingen zou beantwoorden of er is een probleem, heeft u 2 opties: upgraden of een afspraak maken voor nazicht (onder garantie). Behoudens vergissing heeft u nog geen contact met ons opgenomen om dit euvel aan te pakken.
We hopen hiermee enige nuance te hebben gegeven. Als u hierover verder wilt praten, verzoeken we u vriendelijk een mail te sturen naar hello@ahooga.bike - we staan volledig tot uw beschikking en helpen u met plezier verder.

Ahooga is the best.
I have a Ahooga Folding 36V, and this bike changed my life. I live in Paris, I don't take the public transport anymore, I always use my Ahooga. The folding bike is so tiny once fold, you can put it everywhere. This is the best eBike you can find, I took the train and the bus with it when I travel outside Paris, and that's perfect !

Good idea, low quality components
From the first day on (bought in April 2022) i've had problems starting with screws not being fixed properly (Handlebar, front wheel) which almost caused an accident.
Within nine months now: The gear shifter broke, bottom bracket axle loose(!), leakage on the front brake hydraulics, the screw for the mud guard broke three times and Battery times are, even with trying to be economical, far below the advised 50 km.
And although not even being a year old i still had to pay the last repair myself (and i went elsewhere for the last ones). Nice idea and look, light enough to drive without motor but very badly built.

Considering the 2 replies from Ahooga here is the original text, I forwarded to Ahooga, corrected, added and placed after these additional infos. (is this sentence clearer now for you, Ahooga team?!)
In addition I have to mention that te bike was paid in full in advance by creditcard!!!
The bills of Ahooga came way after delivery of the bike.
Delivery was also much later than announced in their advertising.
Given excuse was that "1 week delivery" (as officially announced) ment only "in Belgium"!
Of course this was not mentioned anywere.
Text to Ahooga Company (corrected for readability):
I ordered a "circular" bike from Ahooga directly, (low step) total price allmoust 2000,-€ (80 Euro shipping).
A 600,-€ China bike would have been the better decision.
2 times inspected (according to Ahooga), but rattling, squeeking, doublestand scratching on the rear tire after every doublestand use, not to mention the miserable equipment and extremely blocking pedaling.
I ruined a new pair of sportshoes, because the distance to the ground while pedaling is to short.
In fact because of the miserable, uneven and unstable pedaling it can become dangerous for your health (breaking your foot instead of shoe) or causing accidental contact with the ground. Also pedaling with this bike increased my knee-problems severely.
I almoust forgot to mention that this bike isn't even running straight not even downhill.
Also Ahooga tried to sneek out extra money twice from me with false extra bills !!!
For their "we dont believe"-remark, all there is to be said is that obviously their accounting is as bad as the bike and the service (unless it was done on purpose).

We own two ahooga's e-folding bikes and are happy
We own two ahooga's e-folding bikes for more than 1 year. Each of them has now more than 1000 km (1200 and 2000 KM). Basically, they are very good bikes. Maybe a bit heavy to fold, but truly reliable. Very nice customer service too. PS. Excellent customer service from Fun Garage in Luxembourg.

My nightmare experience with Ahooga
Collected the modular bika december 6th '21. Bike broke down beginning of March after only 300km of use. The dealers that were mentioned on the website at the time of purchase were gone. So had to drive 30km to find a new Ahooga supplier. This supplier was very hesitant to start reparation, because of issues with Ahooga on previous reparations. 6th of May '22: Still waiting on repair and getting really frustrated about lack of communication and slow service. In retrospect: knowing this I wouldn't have bought an Ahooga bike and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Trying to Repair a 3 speed Ahooga Modular bicycle located in Barcelona.
I would like to explain the unfortunate adventure of repairing a 3 speed modular ahooga bicycle located in Barcelona.
The problem starts in September 2021. The bike is a little over a year old. I realize that only two of the three speeds work. It was not easy to find an ahooga dealer in barcelona. I went to Urban-Fan. In short: they had the bike for two months without doing anything. They had no training or instructions to repair the speed gear. After many conversations with ahooga spain (Alicante), they call me in early December saying that I have to remove the bike because the store closes permanently. !! I was shocked. Fortunately, they give me the address of another dealer in Barcelona.
On 04/12/21 I took the bike to Labosch Bike. This dealer is a good professional. After failing to get clear instructions from Ahooga on how to repair the drive gear, he decides to force Ahooga to sent the bike to the factory in Belgium. The bike left Barcelona twelve days ago and now I'm waiting.
