The service was top notch
The representative contacted me prior to my visit let me know his approval time. He was prompt on his arrival. He was very knowledgeable and efficient in his work. He order my part. It was delivered to my house. And the same attention was given on his return visit.

I have been with this company since 2021. I reported a broken refrigerator on March 9 American home shield scheduled me with a company called A-Town Service Group. I requested to cancel this company because they came out in December 2024 to repair my refrigerator so I did not want them because I did not want them to say it was the same thing and I keep paying money out to the same people for the same issue, knowing that some companies do Shystie work to continue to get you to call. Then A-Town Service group was scheduled to come out. They came out and diagnosed. The refrigerator. Told me what it was, which was the same problem from last time and stated the part was going to be ordered and I should hear something from someone between Monday or Tuesday. I haven’t heard from the company to confirm that the part was ordered to confirm that it came in on March 20 or to confirm that they will be out anytime soon to fix my refrigerator. American home shield keeps giving me the runaround. They will not give me cash in lieu of services so that I could purchase another refrigerator and I just don’t know what to do. I’m at my wits end I would not purchase a warranty from this company ever again and I am canceling as soon as my refrigerator is fixed please try another warranty company before choosing American home shield I know that they are very reputable, but this is unacceptable.
Update:April 3,2026.. a representative still has not contacted me as of yet concerning this matter. But they finally did come and fix the refrigerator on last Friday.

Making an appointment was easy. The technicians from Knight Mechanical showed up within their time window, and were very professional. They replaced my disposal in a timely manner and cleaned up afterwards. I would highly recommend them!

The person whom I recently had the opportunity to be in contact and work with, was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful in the areas of resolving appliances issues that was being experienced.

Fixed our plumbing issues on the same day.

I love the video chat feature on the App. The claim was submitted by the technician I chatted with. The 1st replacement of the idler arm did not take care of the issue; with the 30 day guarantee I requested a follow up visit. They replaced the rollers, all is good!

If you have high-end appliances, stay away from American Home Shield.
This company no longer delivers what it used to. I signed up based on recommendations that they would replace non-repairable items with comparable quality products. That is simply not true anymore. Expect your “Mercedes” to be replaced with a “Hyundai”—their contract language now allows clear downgrades.
Even worse, they find ways to increase your costs by adding questionable charges for “non-covered parts.” In my case, these charges appeared unnecessary and significantly inflated the total bill.
The overall experience feels misleading and driven by cost-cutting at the customer’s expense. What used to be a trustworthy service now raises serious concerns about fairness and transparency.
Proceed with extreme caution.

Please dont waste your time and money paying for a plan with AMERICAN Home Shield (AHS). We place a service claim due to plumbing issues with no working toliets due to a stoppage, plus they added our fauces which was never requested but they added it to the claim. They tried to find a technician or vendor and no vendor would except the service request. So due to no working facilities and I have a disability, due to health restrictions. They put the request as an emergency request and gave authorization to find my own vendor as long as it was not on their non-use vendors list. I found a vendor who was a qualified vendor not on their don't use list. My health is at risk without working toliets. I found my vendor they called with an estimate and diagnostics review of the issue to AHS. The vendor normally only works with the home owner , but due to my condition spoke directly to the authorization department to give the information. They never asked for photos or a break down of the cost. Which after AHS kept delaying the authorization, Then on day 4, I my health was getting worse and I need to get my toilets working so contacted the authorization department spoke to a gentleman who was a authorization customer representative who gave authorization to move foward with the repair, then that afternoon spoke to a woman from the back office who needed more information from the vendor, she asked if it would be okay if we did a 3 way call with the vendors company, I contracted to complete the repairs , I stated yes whatever was need from me, she placed me on brief hold , when she returned back on the phone , she stated she spoke with the company and got all she needed , she no longer need me , I asked her if the vendor could continue working and she said yes, everything was taken care of and would contact me after everything was completed for reimbursement, I stated okay thank you I asked one more time everything is good to proceed, she replied yes you are good to go. Which i had another person with me that listened to the whole conversation. Then that evening a rep called to say nothing been authorized and I told her I was confused due I alreadyspoke to reps that day fro AHS and both said it was okay to proceed. She did not care about what was told to me earlier or my health risks, which is cause issues with my health or that I had received authorization but now we don't she would not listen. The issue is we got authorization from AHS and thenba change which is not okay , put more stress on me with my condition. We were told 4 hours in the beginning on Tuesday and we get authorization from another at AHS then you call change your mind by a rep I will never speak to again. A person can call 10 times in a row and will never speak to the same rep you will get a new person every time who is not concerning about your issue you are having and will not show concern about the problems you are facing . Because you will never speak to them again. Dont waste your time or money , it will cause you frustration and stress if you have a health problems they don't care . The delay in repairs and changing their decision after approval has violated my rights under the unfair practices. Watch them they authorization and then deny it because they don't want honor their policy or pay even though they tell to get your own vendor. Dont waste your money or put stress on yourself by speaking to customer representative who are not concerned, their are other home warranty out there cheaper and better customer service.

THE worst “customer service”!! I had set up automatic payments for my account and impressed upon AHS that I’m on social security and only get paid ONCE a month. Things got out of hand fast: AHS was attempting to debit my account between my payment dates, and there being no money in my account, the “past due” began adding up. I called, REPEATEDLY, and on the automated prompt, chose “Billing”, as I assumed that was the billing department. It’s NOT. It’s just customer service. And they were never able to help. But they are excellent at putting one on hold, FOREVER, in the hope that you’ll get fed up and hang up. I did not - I persevered but still got nowhere. On occasion I would be transferred to the “Member Resolution Team” but they were no better. The final straw was when I made my monthly payment and two days later, AHS debited my account for an additional payment. I immediately contacted them and spoke to around 15 different people over the course of several days. Still no resolution. Plus, each person told me a completely different story. I finally contacted my bank to file a complaint regarding that second “payment”. In the meantime, I am DONE with AHS!! I cancelled my contract but double checked today and OF COURSE it had NOT been cancelled. After speaking to 5 different people, who all said they had SENT ME AN EMAIL confirming my cancellation and I still had not received any such email, the last person DID send me a “screenshot” of…nothing…although her accompanying message (but they couldn’t send an email before?? They just didn’t send any emails) DID say my account was cancelled. These people have no idea what they are doing. I am thoroughly disgusted by how they treat their customers. And thankfully I never had to contact them for a repair!! I shudder to think!!
Caveat emptor…!!

AHS has bs’d us for an entire month. Our HVAC went out on Feb 23rd. AHS sent Comfort First to check out our unit. The tech misidentified our unit, said we needed 70 ibs of coolant (unit only holds 6), misidentified the problem, said our unit was old and needed to be replaced (it’s barely ten years old and second and third opinions all called bs), then the project manager tried to upscale us on a new unit and to have all of our ducts redone.
I hired another company to diagnose the issue. The second company called bs and explained the issue. Unfortunately this company wasn’t an approved vendor so we couldn’t go with them. AHS did reassure me that they would send a new tech once Comfort First sent their report. Mind you, it has now been two weeks since comfort misdiagnosed the unit. Apparently, AHS has a 24-48hr policy on receiving reports, but they never followed up.
Once comfort finally sent their report (which they only sent bc I lied and told them I’d pay them), I call AHS back and am told it was approved and I can either allow comfort to “fix” my unit (by fix they meant put the wrong coolant in it) or they’d give me cash to fix it. They only offered $230 when the actual part needed was 5k.
They haven’t shown me the Comfort First report, even though I asked multiple times. They kinda just ignore you when you ask something they don’t wanna answer or they explain something completely unrelated, like one guy literally defined the word report! I have no idea how they got $230 when the Comfort First quote we got was over 10k in parts alone.
I called back, argued with them (I never argue with customer support!) and was told “just bc you pay us doesn’t mean we have to fix your hvac” by a customer escalations specialist.
I am now three, almost four weeks, without heat or ac thanks to AHS. This is only the surface of it, but this review is way too long already. I’ll add that I gave them a low review on a survey they sent me and received a follow up call.
After explaining my situation for the umpteenth time, she said she would help me and to remain on hold . . . then she sent me to the AI powered menu. So yeah, this company sucks.

So as s AHS says below if anything that is not inspected thwy wont cocmver it. But my system was inspexted but still denied!!! DO NOT BUY American Home Shield (AHS) home insurance!!!! We purchased a home and the real estate suggested we take out the American Home Shield home insurance policy. We had the home inspected prior to purchasing and all appliances and equipment were working. 2.5 months after we purchased the home the heater quit working and an error code (Low pressure) came up on the system. We paid AHS to have it checked out and Jet Heating and Air confirmed there was a leak in the outside condenser and also a leak in the indoor unit too. We received an email from AHS that the claim was denied stating in the Jet Heating note “Hou=se was purchased 3 Mo ago. When he tried to turn on the Air for the first time it would not operate only in the heat mode through the furnace”. I never turned the Air on!!!! This was in the winter when we were only using the heat pump system. After calling a couple of times and waiting a couple of days to ask why it was denied, they just said it was denied based on what Jet Heat had told them. I explained that I had never turned the AC on and the error code came up with the heater running not the AC. They asked for the inspection report which I sent to them. Then after receiving the inspection report, AHS said the AC was not inspected!!! It was cold so they could not run the AC as it was too cold to run, but the heater was tested (which this system is a heat pump system and the heater uses the same components as the AC) and working fine and no error codes in the smart system. Every time I asked for a supervisor I was told they would contact me. That took several more calls and over a week to get a supervisor to call me back. Finally, a supervisor called back and Mary said the claim was denied PERIOD. I had an AC tech at the house while she was on the phone and I had him explain that the heating and AC system used the same equipment. But she said claim denied and hung up in me as I was asking for another person higher up to talk to.

Horrible service every excuse not to fix something. I had them for years then they got too expensive. So I gave them another try and WHAT A MISTAKE! The plumber that showed up was ridiculous I have never in my life experienced such poor customer service and he came off dumb or played dumb, which is kinda pathetic.
