Awful airline - ripped off

Awful airline. Bought ticket through an agent from London to Auckland - all on one ticket and paid for extra luggage before I'd left with United (USD 200). Their receipt showed I'd paid from London to Auckland. But in LA, because I couldn't get on the website to prove it Air Tahiti staff charged me again - USD 290. And I had no choice otherwise I had to leave the luggage in the airport.

Air Tahiti staff said I'd be able to get a refund once getting to Auckland but now the Air Tahiti staff have said no because they don't have an agreement with United. How was I supposed to know that when it clearly stated the luggage had been paid for from London to Auckland?

I'm disgusted and upset.
