Don't buy Airthings products
If I had read the reviews about Airthings here, I'd never have purchased its inaccurate radon detector and dealt with its terrible customer service.
These units are not accurate
These units are not accurate. It keeps reporting high Radon, despite living in an area with low Radon levels. I purchased a different brand to confirm my Radon levels and they are never close to being in sync. The AirThings tend to be on the high side for Radon. The VOC readings seem low, I cleaned the room with a strong cleaning agent and the AT barely flinched, while my cheap-er Chinese unit read very high readings. My Sharp PlasmaCluster Air Purifier also says my VOCs are high. If you fart, the AT will go into the red fairly quickly. It seems different sensors read different compounds. None of the sensors agree on temperature, so I ignore them.
I bought two of these about one week apart, the first one seemed OK, but the second one had issues syncing and quickly started draining the battery. I contacted tech support and answered the usual mundane questions. They did follow-up, but eventually said they were closing the ticket, despite having asked for a new unit. I never heard from them again. Amazon replaced the unit, no questions asked.
Not well integrated, multiple apps required, and poor support structure
You have to juggle two separate apps depending on what you buy which is a poor experience. Getting to support is also painful, as you have to get past the bots first and even then each one support person is juggling many separate chat threads leading to confusion, delays, and more bad user experience. No way to call them, and their email support has problems as well. Can't really speak to the technical details since I never got past all the app-juggling and related confusion. Trying to return and get a refund and that is not going well either

I bought a Airthings Wave Plus device…
I bought a Airthings Wave Plus device and expected an easy setup on my Samsung Galaxy S22 device.
This was all but easy. I have tried numerous times.
- Turning on and off Flight mode
- Taking out the batteries of the device for more than 5 seconds, more than 30 seconds and over 30 minutes.
- Reinstalling the application on my phone.
- Installing the application on my Samsung Galaxy A8 Tab
- Installing the application on my Ipad Pro
On my Samsung Phone the factory update installation stops at 96% and then fails.
On the Android tablet and IPad it says "A problem has occurred while attempting to update this device".
Still I am not able to add the device to any of my phones or tablets.
Inaccurate readings. Hopeless support.
Inaccurate readings. The RH varies by +/- 8 % on different devices placed next to each other in the same room. Worst support I’ve ever experienced. They start to ask irrelevant questions that is time consuming to answer. I guess they try to get the customers to back away. Suddenly one day they just stop answering. Do not support them by buying their products…
Forget support
Bought from eBay. Got faults after a few months. Contacted airthings who demand an invoice (from an approved reseller) showing serial number which, of course, I do not have; the serial number off the back of the unit should be enough but this is all about doing nothing folks. No support here.
No ability to change shipping address
No ability to change shipping address!
When checking out in the USA the website does not give you an option to select a shipping address! it seems to just use the "billing address".
Immediately, I sent airthings support an email and message to notify them of the mistake. Airthings did not respond in time and shipped the product to the wrong address. 3 days later and I still have not heard back from them.
Worst customer service I’ve dealt with…
Worst customer service I’ve dealt with across all industries. The agents dance around the issue you report and wastes your time asking for irrelevant information. Even when data and information clearly shows the device is having problems they will continue to steer you into more data gathering… stay away.
My Airthings mini stopped working
My Airthings mini stopped working. I emailed them and they have been no help. They will not talk to you on the phone and they want me to email them back on their messenger and I have no idea where that is. They said they sent me a screen shot. I do not know what that is or where I can find it. I have had it with these people. No wonder they get such horrible reviews.
In my opinion stay well away from this company
I have been in contact and complaint with Airthings that one of my 5 devices doesn’t work and is going through batteries like nothing I have ever seen. Their customer service has been appalling. They won’t replace my device until they receive the device back from me, despite admitting finally (after 4 months) that the device is faulty. I’m so appalled by their customer service that I’m throwing the other devices in the bin and changing to another company - waste of time
Poor customer service
Whilst I was generally happy with my kit, the Hub stopped connecting to any device and the internet. It's not even 1 year old and it is within its warranty. Took it with customer service which they replied to my first messages and then it's 2 days and they do not respond. At the same time, they say...we respond to under 30mins on average. Have sent all documentation requested. If not responded, will take it with my card provider.
They used the pre-orders to bank roll…
They used the pre-orders to bank roll production for retail. Now they have no problem cancelling pre-orders. Vote with your money- don’t buy from them!
Don’t believe the crap they are pumping “silicon shortage” I can tell you my pre-order was still on hold due to shortage while retail has 100+ in stock.
Avoid!
Do Not Pre Order / Cancel Pre Orders
Don't be fooled, this is just another disingenuous company who lie to your face and steal your money to avoid any risk for themselves.
Made a first batch pre order (before 16th April) for the new View Plus, with delivery estimated beginning in June. Just to be clear here I have NO problems with delays, but still expect to be keep informed of such.
August, with no contact whatsoever after an email stating they began shipping units as expected, I contact support to see what's happening, only to be told that there are NO delays, that everything is great, that units are sent first ordered, first received and my pre order will be sent right when they promised me. All the while still they selling pre-orders for the month of August on their website.
So I wait some more, and after some digging find on their FAQ a page stating orders after 16th April (which I had) will begin shipping in September. While at the same time they are now selling pre orders stating SEPTEMBER as the shipping date. Once September rolls around get ready for OCTOBER pre orders everyone (*first ordered, first sent meaning we will ship it within the next 10 years?)
Then to this "first ordered, first received" statement is also highly suspect, because great, that means you can get an average of how many units you process a day, look where an order is in the queue, and like magic tell when to expect that specific order? No? Is that because they have manufacturing capability of 0? Or have they abandoned pre orders and preferring to process business orders? I found online a very reputable Electronics high street store which claim to have the View Plus in stock on the 31st August (and so far they have been 100% accurate on stock dates, because you know, its a simple concept, although I suspect Airthings have perhaps lied to them about delivery also)
How can you trust a product from such a company, who lie lie lie to your face, not willing to even write a simple apology regarding delays, willing to keep lying month after month after month selling pre orders with estimated shipping which they already KNOW they can not keep and a total LIE.
If you already pre ordered, CANCEL!
If you are thinking of pre order. DON'T!
See other reviews, stay away from Airthings as a company, wait for the View Plus to reach stores right on time in 2026(?) and hopefully by then a competitor will have appeared to wipe out this so called "company".
be cautious and dont buy from Wallmart there warranty is 30 days after that you have to go to Manfacturer who in in NORWAY
Ok bought air things Corentium Home it worked fine for six mounths. suddenly readings plunged. to under 1.0

it is non functional they refuse to take back or replace.DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK AND READ ALL THESE REVIEWS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REALLY IS A JOKE.
OK Update sept 2021 Air Things did finally send a RMA and replacment unit .
So we all know they have the ability to follow their warranty.
Just want to be completely honest here .
I had bought a lab type test and the new Air things unit seems to be recording numbers that fall in line with the Lab numbers.
They now have my defective unit and hope that helps them find any flaws.
I just never wished to write this…
I just never wished to write this review, because i want this to work, but it just doesnt. It loses connection without anything telling you and then it just doesnt work. You have to reset it and then you will lose everything. This is the third time, and I’m tired of listening to support telling me to reset again.
On top of all my grief, they still does not support homekit. In 2021.
Don’t buy this product!.
There's a lot of room for improvement
There's a lot of room for improvement. I do not recommend Airthings.

Radon Detector
"The government has measured (2 months) my Radon concentration and it is about 200 Bq/m3.
I bought your Corentium Home Radon detector and got the following short term average measurements (1 day): 215 - 260 -218 - 256 - 259 - seemed normal ... but this morning it was 1882 Bq/m3. This seems to me impossible
So there is something wrong with the detector!?
I explain:
suppose, what was my case, that the detector measures every hour (average) 250 Bq/m3 during 23 hours, then the 24th hour the measurement has to be 39418 Bq/m3 to get a short term average in 1 day of 1882 Bq/m3, what I got this morning
Proof: (23 x 250 Bq/m3 + 39418 Bq/m3) / 24 = 1882 Bq/m3
This is impossible because not realistic AND the upper display limit of the Detector is 9999 Bq/m3!
I contacted the Client Sevice (jennylyn.juanites) , but I got no satisfying answer.

A good “friend” that reminds you to improve the air quality.
At my birthday in November I got the Airthings Wave Plus. Now I have been testing it for a couple of month and it has been interesting to monitor the air quality and to be reminded to open the windows to get some fresh air inside. It does what’s promised and it is definitely the most advanced of the different air quality monitors in the market. The only downside is that I don’t get a notification on my smartphone at the moment without opening the app. It requires a hub to keep it syncing without a phone with the app opened. I have put in an order for the hub which I hopefully will receive soon.
The customer service has been easy to get in contact with through the online chat and they have been very helpful answering questions about the device and app.
