The surgery did not go as expected, the abdominoplasty left a lot of excess skin and left hanging "dog ears" on the edges of my stomach.

The surgery was a long-time dream of mine and I had been saving up for a long time so I could travel to Turkey. Now I have to have another surgery.

From the moment I reached out to Aktif International Hospital for my gastric sleeve, the reception was warm and everyone i had contact with were friendly and willing to assist. I met the lovely Sema who made my life easy and assisted with translating my requests. Gratefully, the surgery went well all thanks to Dr Ibrahim and I am on the road to recovery.

We arrived at the airport, where the driver was already waiting for us. The transfer between the airport, hospital, and hotel was well-organized, which made the process smoother. At the hospital, Buket welcomed us warmly, and she was very kind and helpful throughout. They brought my partner and me to our room and conducted some tests.

The first discomfort I experienced was that the nurses took blood samples without wearing gloves, which made me uneasy. I also mentioned multiple times that I was bringing my partner with me, and they assured me it wouldn’t be an issue—we would get either a double bed or two beds. However, when we arrived, my poor partner had to sleep on a small couch for four nights, which was disappointing.

The next day, I had to wait all day for my surgery with a cannula inserted since the morning. However, the surgery itself went well—Dr. Burak sent me pictures, and it looks like he did a great job. I felt confident in his work and was satisfied with the surgical outcome.

That said, I found the hospital itself to be quite unprofessional. The translator barely understood English (and it's called an international hospital), which led to a mistake in explaining how to take my medication. I had to translate the instructions myself to ensure I was following them correctly. The night after surgery, the nurses barely checked on me—I always had to get the ice myself, ask for a new dressing, or rely on my partner. Before arriving, I was told there would be an English-speaking night nurse on every floor, but that was not the case. Communication was extremely challenging, which only worsened my anxiety, as I felt I wasn’t being properly cared for.

It often felt like they treated patients as numbers—just come, get surgery, and leave. I was also uncomfortable with how early they removed the cast after surgery. Before my trip, I repeatedly asked my coordinator if seven nights would be enough for a safe recovery and flight back. She reassured me that it would be, but in the end, they told me it wasn’t enough, so they kept the hard cast on for another 10 days.

I also had to repeatedly ask them to change my dressing; otherwise, it would have been left unchanged. When I requested extra dressing to take to the hotel after discharge, they still didn't give it to me, which was frustrating.

Another frustrating experience was with the translator, Sema. She insisted that I write a review immediately while I was still recovering and even said she had to take a picture of it. I told her I would do it later when I arrived at my hotel, but she kept pushing. This was extremely unprofessional and a horrible way to treat a patient who had just undergone surgery.

On the positive side, some of the staff members were kind and tried their best to help, even though the communication barrier made things difficult. The hotel we stayed in was very comfortable, which made recovery a bit easier.

At this point, I’m just hoping my nose heals properly and that Dr. Burak’s work gives me the results I wanted. While I don’t fully trust the hospital, I do trust my surgeon and remain optimistic about my final outcome.

Dr. Perçin Serhat Yergin is a great plastic surgeon, he gave no expectations but put my mind at ease with what works for my face. He is highly educated and with alot of experience. I could not have chosen a better Dr. I was nervous about what the outcome would be but he nailed it. If you need a "Nose Job" he is the one you definitely want. I have to give a shout out to Buket she was my english speaking liason, and she is knowledge and professional and has worked in the field of comectic surgery on both sides. The staff at AKTIF instanbul was wonderful they took good care of me and it's an experience that I would never forget.

I had a face and neck lift at Aktif Hospital in Uskudar. My experience there has been great.
My first point of contact was Salina who was in constant contact with me via WhatsApp to answer my questions ( there were many)
She was always polite and reassuring and gave me the information I needed to choose the right hospital and surgeon.
I chose Dr. Ozan Can Canbalot. He is amazing! He is so talented but also I think he really cares about his patients and is passionate to provide the best results possible.
What I enjoyed about the whole process was the continuity of care. For example I was picked up from the airport by Hassan, who was kind and polite, then for every other car trip it was always Hassan.
Next is the wonderful Buket, she's like your personal PA and translator.
She is with you to oversee everything. Plus she's only ever a text message away. She pops in to check all is well and I believe goes above and beyond what's required of her. I travelled alone from the UK and Buket was so supportive when I was feeling a little nervous.
The nursing staff are also very good, they do regular obs after surgery and get you moving asap. Most of the nurses don't speak much English but Google translate is great and so communication was never a problem. They were professional and friendly.
The results of my face and neck lift are far beyond what I was expecting. Really, Dr. Ozan is amazing!
I'd recommend him to my own family so that shows how confident I am about his work.

Was scared to travel across the world for rhinoplasty and breast surgery, but as soon as I reached out to Aktif..Selena was very helpful and communicated very well for all my concerns and questions and made me feel confident in the experience to travel for surgery.
When I arrived everything was so smooth to pick up- drop off - consulting with Dr.ozan with Buket by my side making me so comfortable with everything even when I got nervous, having her by my side made me feel so comfortable with everything and would recommend anyone to travel and have an amazing experience and have people like bucket and Dr.ozan by your side

What can I say about Aktif International hospital.. No single line could sum up just how absolutely amazing a place this is and the full range of care they provide, but if I had to summarize a statement it would be 'Above and beyond'.

From the moment I reached out for a consultation about a breast augmentation they have been thorough. No questions was left unanswered, no expectation or request was unmet. From my first point of contact they have been brilliant. My original rep Nuvar Jenny (whom has left now) walked me through the entire expected process, helped me with searching for answers about visa requirements and flight plans ontop of the medical information. The lovely drivers collected me from the airport in the middle of a snow storm and got me to the hospital where I first met Buket (if you are so lucky to get her, feel at ease and blessed) who took me for preoperative tests and helped me settle into the hospital she is truly amazing.

And of course Dr. Ozan Cobalt, an incredible surgeon in not just his skill level, attention to detail and ability to convert word vomit into a translatable understanding of what your desired outcome request is. I cannot tell you enough how incredibly happy I was to have him be my surgeon. I have never really been comfortable in the company of strangers, but i trusted him. Thank god I did because I dont believe I would have walked away from anywhere else with the results and new found femine confidence I have today had it not been for his input and skills. Recommend without hesitation!

I dont want to leave this comment without also mentioning the other members of staff that helped in my care, the nurses all of them, regardless of my language barrier where the sweetest, kindest people who helped with everything and anything I asked for. They are truly off the chart with care.

If you are looking for a team of professionals and a fantastic experience dont go past Aktif International hospital. If you are specifically looking for breast augmentation, seek out Dr. Ozan Cobalt, you will not be left disappointed.

I came in for a blephoraplasty and brow lift at Aktif hospital and came across a lovely lady Sema who was the translator but helped around with everything. The whole process of the procedure was very fast and easy. I was brought to the hospital straight from the airport and had my surgery done the very next day.
Overall experience has been great, hopefully the results are everything I am expecting.

I had a great treatment during my surgery with this group of hospital. From my arrival at the airport, we met with a down to earth lovely lady Buket who looked after us throughout our stay at the hospital. She related to us as if we knew for a very long time, I can’t recommend her enough. The doctor Umran Muslu is a brilliant doctor, well experienced, I can recommend him anytime. My overall experience was fantastic apart from the food which is minor, having salad in the morning and tea without offer of milk which was later corrected otherwise everything was perfect.

I was looking online for a place to do Rhinoplasty and I came across Aktif International Hospital in Turkey, Istanbul and wrote to them. I live in Ireland and after receiving very good information from Selina and Buket such as the what will happen between day 1 to day 7 I knew I wanted to come here🤩 They were so lovely and answering all my questions I had to ask. They organized my pick up after arriving late at the airport, the hospital accommodation was the best that I have ever experienced, it felt more like your own personal room and I felt so relaxed. My doctor Dr Erol Bozbora made me feel relaxed and explained what will happen. Dr Erol did such an incredible job with the surgery! After surgery they gave me medication for aftercare and it was helping alot, I didn't receive much swelling compared to other people who I know got Rhinoplasty back in Ireland and I was amazed! After resting in the hospital and checking on my health they drove me to the hotel which was included in the package and I have to say.. for the price this was super and amazing. Would recommend this place to anybody who wants to undergo Rhinoplasty! Can't thank you guys enough and I am so happy with my before and after results, I'm a new person and you have changed my life! Breast reduction and Lift, 360 Liposuction and Abdominoplasty at Aktif International Üsküdar Hospital:
I received exceptional treatment at this Aktif Hospital.
From my first contact with Selina Özel, their initial contact coordinator, I felt confident that I had chosen the right place to have my procedures. Every question I had was quickly answered and knowing that I was to be operated on in a full facility hospital by a European certified surgeon, Dr Ozan Can Canbolat, with great experience in plastic surgery, made me feel extremely comfortable.
The whole organisation is very professional from start to finish. Despite a 4 hour delay of my flight, on my arrival I was immediately met at the airport by Buket, one of the hospital coordinators and driver Hasan. I was swept away into a luxury vehicle and taken straight to the hospital, where, despite the lateness of the hour, technicians took me through a number of tests and examinations. I was also shown my hospital room. The hospital is modern and clean and the rooms are sizeable, well equipped and spotless. I brought my partner with me and the nurses folded out a bed for him to stay in my room with me for the entirety of my stay.
I met with my surgeon and he went through the procedure. We had had contact prior to my visit when he had agreed to do the surgery, but this was also an opportunity ask any further questions.
I had some further tests and saw the anaesthetist.
The surgery went exceptionally well and I am absolutely delighted with the results which are beyond my expectations. The nursing staff are very hardworking and were in and out of the room constantly checking my stats and providing me with pain medication (my pain was very well controlled), antibiotics and various other things via drip. The hospital coordinators, Buket and Ipek were with me a lot of the time to check on my welfare and see to anything that I or my partner needed. They were also immediately available to call on via phone day or night. I was well enough after 2 days to move from the hospital to a five star hotel, the Mercure Altunizade (breakfast included) where I completed my recovery. I was collected and taken back to the hospital for checkups whenever required over the next days and was released to return home after a week. All of my follow on medication was provided along with my corset and bra, so there were no extras to pay for. I was then escorted back to the airport by Hasan and I returned home.
Selina, Buket, Ipek, Hasan, the hospital staff and, of course, my surgeon, Dr Ozan Can Canbolat are all exceptional, as was my experience. They were all friendly, kind and extremely professional.

I came to AIH to get Lipo from (USA) Dr. Ozan and his staff were very professional, informed and were genuinely concerned from the time of the initial screening all the way until the time I got on the plane and made it back to my country. They never stopped checking and checking and checking answering every question and meeting every demand. I have to give a special acknowledgment to Paula and Buket the translators and personal assistant they have AMAZING job 10 out of 10 thank you 🙏🏾 🖤🌹.

I had an amazing experience with Aktif. The hospital was absolutely spotless, very modern with large comfortable rooms. Every member of staff I came into contact with was so friendly, kind and caring, the nurses, the cleaners, the healthcare assistants. Special shout out to Buket and Ipek, two amazing, beautiful, smart young ladies, they looked after me like I was a family member, nothing was too much trouble for them. For example we landed really late and Ipek ran out to get us food at 1am in the morning! They went above and beyond at every opportunity. They really did make me feel so safe and cared for, they deserve a massive pay raise! I can’t convey how good they were in words, they just make you feel so secure and looked after and I feel like I made two new friends that I will keep in touch with. Emel was also brilliant, providing me with all the relevant info for my trip and explaining everything carefully before I travelled.

My surgeon was also amazing, Dr Umran Muslu has done such a good job on my eyes (upper and lower bleph), they’re not fully healed yet but I can already see the final results are going to be brilliant. He explained my surgery clearly and I felt fully informed every step of the way. My surgery and aftercare were so good that I was able to go out sightseeing around Istanbul the day after my op, I had NO pain at all, I couldn’t quite believe how good I felt after the surgery.

We stayed in the Mercure hotel which was just gorgeous, it’s spotless and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The room was really nice, very comfortable beds and really quiet during the night. The hotel has a lovely Spa with pool, jacuzzi, steam, sauna and gym - you can use all these for free and it’s open until 10pm. You can get food in the fabulous restaurant up until 2am.

I had such a good experience, there isn’t one negative thing I could say, everyone was so lovely, even our fantastic driver Hasan would buy us tea and pastries and stop off at beauty spots for us so we could take pictures - honestly these people are just spectacular the way they care for you. I would recommend Aktif 100%, I wouldn’t go anywhere else for a procedure now I’ve found them, just outstanding!

A few tips if you want to sightsee whilst there - we enjoyed the Asia side of Istanbul the most, it was relaxed, friendlier and MUCH cheaper than the European side. The area around the hospital is lovey, lots of places to eat and shop and a lovely chilled vibe (this was Jan though so not sure what it’s like in Summer). We found the European side to be a bit overwhelming in terms of the touts, the traffic and the bustle, also the prices were much higher.

I cannot express enough gratitude for the exceptional care I received at Aktif International Hospital. From the moment I walked through the doors, the staff made me feel very welcome and supported. Every team member from the receptionists to the nurses, were incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to answer my questions and ease any concerns.

My surgery was a massive success with no complications, which I attribute not only to the surgical team but also to the thorough guidance provided throughout the entire process. They walked me through every step, ensuring I understood what to expect before, during, and after the procedure. This level of communication was very appreciated.

Dr. Ümran Muslu, my surgeon, was the epitome of professionalism. Not only did they perform the surgery flawlessly, but they also took the time to check on me every day during my recovery. This personal touch made a world of difference in my healing process as it showed a genuine commitment to my wellbeing.

During my stay, I was fortunate to be in contact with staff who spoke English, which was such a blessing. They were always available to help translate anything to the medical staff, ensuring that I fully understood everything happening during my treatment. Their presence made a potentially overwhelming experience feel manageable and comfortable.

What truly touched my heart was their willingness to go above and beyond. They were kind enough to accompany me to local restaurants and shops during their free time, showing me the beauty of the area and helping me feel more at home. Their warmth and friendliness truly made me feel like family while I was there, and even after my discharge, we’ve kept in touch. The bonds we formed during my stay are something I will always cherish.

I had my loop bipartition operation on the 10 th of December. I came from Budapest Hungary. I have to say big thank you to Nuvar Jenny the best coordinator, who organized the best doctor Dr Ibrahim Ağackiran for me. I’m really thankful for the care and attention for everybody in the hospital. They made may surgery and the recovery to be a good memory.

I had surgery done at this hospital on 29th November conducted by Dr Ozan Canbolat , he performed a tummy tuck & lipo on me , my results are outstanding.

Him & his team totally cared for me , I was a bit sceptical visiting another country for surgery but my instincts told me this surgeon was for me .

I went on my own from the UK for this procedure & was looked after 24 hours a day .

Overall I was happy with my decision to travel to Turkey for my procedure. It was much more affordable and they do work hard at making it a good experience for you. Nuvar was very helpful and willing to go above and beyond. I personally had a very strong reaction to the anesthesia so that was challenging particularly because the nurses didn’t speak any English and I didn’t have anyone with me initially so was having to go to the effort of using Google translate to try to explain that the reaction I was having was more severe than typical. So I highly recommend bringing someone with you so they can help with things when you’re not feeling great after surgery. I would also recommend bringing some snacks and things in case you’re not feeling well after the procedure. The food was good but strong and often spicy flavors that don’t sit well on an upset stomach. Faciltiy wise, medical equipment and such were a bit older but everything was clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were great and the beds did what they are intended to do. All in all the best part about this was Dr. Ozan. He is a wonderful doctor with the right amount of experience/confidence but still humble and wanting to give his patients the best results possible. I would give him 5 stars and highly recommend him.
