I paid extra for an exit row seat and then minutes before boarding they changed it to a normal seat, refused to refund my payment, and in the chat support they just said: "Sorry there's nothing we c... See more

Flew SD to SF and thought they were good. We also had to change our flights a couple of times and the process was easy enough.
Fly Alaska and relax
Never had a bad experience with Alaska. Always been my choice of travel. Recently, I booked a flight through American Airlines, and it truly made me appreciate Alaska Airlines. Night and day when it comes to experience and service.
Bait n Switch airline
I booked through my trip, paid for flights, then when checking in for flight home was told I had a 30 bag fee- bait and switch airline at its worst! This is after they asked me to change my flight from direct to stop over in Seattle, so I was first inconvenienced, then charged for a bag I was never told I would be charged for. First and last time ever with this airline. Just say no and book with anyone else!
Can't trust Alaska
Can't trust Alaska! It keeps re-scheduling flights ruining customers plans! We are losing money due to Alaska's continuously changing flights schedules! Alaska offers the "perfect" flight for you, once you booked, it changes the schedule!
SHAME ON ALASKA!
Alaska Air lost my CARRY-ON bag, then blamed me for it, and charged me $550 to get it back!
I had just attended my fathers funeral as he had unexpectedly died 3 weeks prior. It had been a lovely service but a very challenging time. I was looking forward to some closure in the process but Alaska Air was going to make my experience much more challenging in the next 4 days. In my carry-on bag I had my work laptop, some mementos of his including a gold watch he gave me worth well over $2000 plus my car and house keys and numerous clothes and shoes from the 3 day visit. On Tuesday 8/2 I boarded Alaska Air flight 3496 from Sacramento to Portland OR and set my carry-on luggage in the overhead bin above my seat in 7A, business class, right behind first class.
When landed, my carry on bag was missing, I asked if anyone had seen it, the flight attendent said it was in baggage claim. I went to baggage claim, it did not come. They then called to the crew on the plane and they could not find it. I then filed a claim and the woman who filed it said she would check with Sacramento and that it was probably there. Next morning I call to see if they found it in Sac, no one called the night before, like she said she would! 12 hours lost in finding my back.
Next few days, no word. Friday morning I get a call from LA baggage services and they found my bag on the plane that was in Portland, and apparently they DID NOT look for it. The woman in LA said if you want your bag, you have to set up a FEX X account and pay for it. I told her that I did not lose the bag, the flight attendent moved it. She said it was on the plane, I left it, it was my fault, and if I want it I have to pay for it. So, I shell out $585 for next day delivery. I called a supervisor and reported the incident. She was apologetic saying the LA person should have read the notes and not charged me. Insult to injury, FED X screwed up to and I got the bag 3 days later. So, work time lost due my computer being gone and so much stress. I barely got an apology and 3000 miles added to my account. I am appalled and how crappy they were to me and moved my bag with out telling me, and then lied about searching the plane and calling Sacraemento. And to think I paid $700 for this abuse, a business class ticket for a hour flight round trip. I have been a mileage plus member since 1994 and loved Alaska Air. They are not the same company anymore. Might as well be flying Spirit Air. I will be emailing the CEO and VP of customer service. update - they emailed me back apologizing, confirming they would make changes and gave me a $200 credit.
Crooked company that is at risked of getting sued by me
Reached out to Alaska airlines today to see if I could get an earlier flight time tomorrow since mine is at 4pm, and I am traveling from Miami to Atlanta to Seattle go visit my father who is essentially on his death bed. He is in the ICU right now, and if he passes away before I land, I will be suing this entire agency. All you do is steal customer money for the Main cabin ticket that is essentially a $300 price difference to get zero to no benefits on cancelations, emergency trip changes like this, etc.
PSA: DO NOT BUY A SAVER TICKET AND THINK YOU ARE GOOD WITH ALLIANZ INSURANCE WHO IS ANOTHER CROOK AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY ONLY TO TELL YOU NO WHEN IT COMES TO ACTUALLY USING THE INSURANCE.
ALASKA AIRLINES SUCKS, DOES NOT PAY EMPLOYEES WELL, AND THEY HATE THEIR CUSTOMERS. I WILL SUE YOU IF MY FATHER DIES BEFORE I ARRIVE. THATS A PROMISE.
Definitely worth upgrading to first…
Definitely worth upgrading to first class!
We flew Alaska Airlines from Seattle to Fairbanks in mid-July, and had a fantastic experience from start to finish. We'd upgraded to First Class so had access to the lounge at SeaTac, what a great experience! The welcome host was really friendly, and the complimentary food and drink on offer in the lounge was great. We boarded the flight quickly and the first class attendant (Sandy) was great, so friendly and attentive throughout the flight. The food was delicious, with the gooiest chocolate chip cookies I've ever had! I'd love to fly Alaska again, it's just a shame they don't fly out of the UK!!
They just underperform in all areas
They just underperform in all areas. Disloyal to customers. They charge a fee to use air miles that are actually earned elsewhere. Huh? Completely void of a moral compass. The bucks literally stop here.
horrible experience
On July 15, 2022 we arrived at the Anchorage airport at 430 am for a 7 am flight to Sea airport,
At 645 the pilot made an announcement that the flight attendants are running late on shuttle from hotel, We departed at 737 am 37 minutes late.( we had 50 minutes between our flight to Chicago )
50 miles from SEA airport the pilot makes announcement that the airport was closed due to a Alaska air software problem, they sent us to another airport 25 miles north of SEA 1 hour 45 minutes later we were in the air going to SEA.
When we arrived at our gate there was no one there that could operate the jet way ramp for us to get off the plane. We waited another 20 minutes to get off the plane.( so we missed our flight to Chicago,
Customer service gave us three option (1),wait until the following morning to get a flight.
( 2 ) wait until 1130 pm get a flight to CIN get there at 1100 am on Thursday
(3) Wait until 1015 PM get a flight to Charlotte,NC then get a flight to CIN,
It took 32.5 hours for a 9.25 hour trip.
Never heard a word from Alaska Air lines

Waiting now for 5 hours in Las Vegas, in and out of a plane that keeps having issues. It seems there is no plan b. Very much amateurs on the job it seems
Overbooked flights and corporate greed
I checked in for my (expensive!) flight almost a day before the departure time. And yet, apparently because I was the last passenger to check in, I was *booted* off the flight I paid $600 for, with only a few minutes notice before departure after I had already passed through TSA security.
When I checked in online the day before, there was NO notice that I was the last passenger and may be asked to forfeit my seat because of this. So I planned my rides and accommodations for my trip exactly as I booked it, since there was no indication from Alaska that it would go otherwise.
The replacement flight I was placed on delayed me by over 9 hours, taking up a whole day of work and putting me in a strange, big city after dark, which quite possibly puts me at risk of bodily harm and danger as a young woman traveling alone. The entire reason I booked that expensive daytime flight initially was specifically to avoid an after-dark arrival, out of safety concerns.
The only reason Alaska gets one star is because the in-person airport employees themselves were extremely lovely and helpful. My issue here today comes from executive policies - I know overbooking flights is a corporate policy and not the blue collar employees’ fault, so they certainly should get credit for doing a great job.
It was only after one of the very kind desk employees advocated for me to get free checked bags on my return trip that I was offered a $75 voucher to Alaska for future use, as the call center could not, for some reason, give me free checked bags on this flight nor on my return trip a few days later. A voucher is rather meaningless to me though, unfortunately, as I will never risk repeating this experience by purchasing anything further from Alaska.
I’d like to emphasize again that the customer-facing employees in the airport itself did an amazing job and were very pleasant and accommodating! It is simply the appalling corporate greed at the top levels of the company that I find disappointing and distasteful, for creating and perpetuating these unfair overbooking/overselling policies.
I almost always fly Southwest and simply by chance found a less expensive flight with Alaska in this one instance, and now I have been thoroughly reminded why I never fly with any other airline. Quite a disappointing first (and certainly last!) experience with Alaska.
No customer contact from outside US
Simple thinks like publishing international phone numbers that work wouldn't be too much to ask for!
Horror flight first class NYC to LAX on AS182 at…
Flew first class NYC to LAX on AS182 at 8:30pm
Alaska is one if the worst airlines I have flown in 40+ years. We flew first class on a 6+hr flight and
A) first class seats do not recline at all
B) no screen provided to watch movies - would have been good to know when we checked in
A very boring and very uncomfortable flight . We flew American Airlines last time - wonderful plane , full reclining seats, movie screens etc - a much better way to go .
And it takes 1 to 2 hrs to get through to Alaska customer service if you phone ; and if you have an overseas mobile they can not ring you back. Tried on 2 occasions to sort out my booking which for some reason we could not do online checkin. We had to line up at the airport and do an over the counter checkin.
Use Caution unless you want to be stranded
Booked a flight with connection in Seattle but the plane was 1.5 hours last taking off. We missed our connection. They transferred us to American with a 7 hour layover. But nobody from America n was at Seattle.
Tried to get help from Alaska air desk but the girl was surly and would not help us. We are 2 older disabled ladies dumped by Alaska air with no way home. Alaska air takes no responsibility for what they have done to us. Our luggage is gone. We don't have a way home tonight and we are scared. Alaska air will not even try to help. The help counter is closed. DONT FLY THIS AIRLINE!!!! YOU WILL NOT GET THERE.
Unreliable in Many Ways
The return trip my spouse and I had booked Pasco, WA connecting in Seattle, WA then direct to Washington DC was cancelled without notice which we did not discover until we went to check in online. After an hour and a half working with customer service, we were booked Pasco - Seattle - Detroit. From Detroit we were to get on United to continue on to DC. We wasted 1-1/2 hours getting the flight corrected and three hours delay due to the extra layover. Once we arrived in DC and waited an hour for our luggage, we discovered that Alaska had never put our bags on the plane in Seattle and they were languishing there. Understanding that things can happen, this was only our second time flying Alaska. The first time we returned to DC early only to sit 30 feet from the gate for over 1-1/2 hours making our arrival late. So far Alaska owes me $$ for re-booking me from a non-stop to a one stop flight (Seattle-DC) and 7 wasted hours of my life.
They canceled the flight and refused to…
They canceled the flight and refused to credit in the original form without being on a call with them for several hours.
I recently booked my travel with Alaska…
I recently booked my travel with Alaska airlines and without any notification airlines cancelled my flight. I came to know about the cancellation only when I went to check-in online. This was super frustrating and me/my family had to spend tons of money to book last minute flight with another airlines and had to go through lots of hassle. The airlines didn't even provide the refund for the flight which was cancelled and you couldn't reach their customer service as you have to wait for hours to connect to them.
Recommending everyone to not book flights with Alaska airlines as they have poor customer service, communication issues and don't provide your money back.
Business Travel with Nothing Available Using Miles!!
We have over 500,000 miles to use for award travel and cannot find an Alaska Airline business class ticket to any destination we want to travel no matter where or when. One option is trying to fly back from South Africa to anywhere in Europe in 2023 and not a single destination comes up regardless of class of travel. Anything we can get using miles to other destinations in the US are always a mixed class ticket with the worst leg being coach. We spent all this time building up Alaska miles so we could benefit from an upgraded flight and its all waste. Try get hold of someone to talk to at Alaska and their hold times are 4-5 hours by phone and even over an hour with a text. In chats they just tell you that no one is available. We used to be a big fan of Alaska and flew them regularly and now just looking for ways to use our mileage and cease using them once we do. How disappointing to see what was a quality airline deteriorate to this degree.
Alaska airlines first canceled us and told us we were on another flight 2 Days later and couldn't get on the flight!
Worst experience ever. They canceled our flight and told us we were rebooked for the 10th and then told us we weren't on the flight! A refund was being processed apparently but since it hadn't been processed yet we had to buy a new ticket for 8 hours later! Horrendous! At this point I think with everything going on Southwest is now the luxury airliner allowing you to free bags and an actual flight that takes off when it's supposed to.
NYC-SFO, SFO-LAS in Apr, 2022, all good
Flew with them from NYC - SFO and SFO-LAS in April 2022, both flights were on time, baggage payment was smooth, counter lady allowed 2-3lbs extra in the checked bag. I can recommend them
