Incredible App
Incredible App. Paid features are well worth the money. Recently took a trip to the Alps and I would be absolutely lost without this app. Highly recommend.

Guys i like this app but PLEASE for the love of God bring out a way to let view the routes we are walking on our smart watches ! It is annoying to have to keep pulling out phones out to view our routes, it would be 100 times better if we could just quickly glance at our watches to view our routes. PLEASE ! Then this app deserves 5 stars.
Truly a terrible product & customer experience
Truly a terrible product. I signed up for the trial, and missed the mark for one day on apple, and they won't let me get a refund.
This is not at all what I expected when it would come to this, but I guess they know a customer won't use their product enough to actually purchase it themselves, instead they want to force it down our throats, and they won't give us the money back.
40 $ used on something I did not mean to buy. At least I will spend 5 minutes and let everyone else know so that they won't go the same route as I did.
Too much dubious content
The off-road driving track lists are just random loops around rural public roads.
The descriptions are misleading and list activities for which there are little to no facilities.
The website has needlessly aggressive sign-in pop-ups that reappear every time you scroll or click anything.
Some redemption is found in the walking routes, I found many of the local ones listed and mapped accurately . They should stick to this instead of desperately trying to end up in every search result even if it means knowingly giving the user irrelevant content.
Hard to navigate where to cancel.. but customer service prompt and no quibble
I signed up for free trial . I was charged a week later for an annual subscription through Google pay. I hadn't noticed emails reminding me to cancel. I sent an email to alltrails customer service.. and they refunded promptly. It is hard to navigate how to cancel subscriptions.. so they lose a star for that, but once I got through to customer service the refund was no quibble and prompt.
"AllTrails: Verified by Experts"? Let’s Be Honest
AllTrails claims that "all our trails are verified by experts," but let’s cut through the marketing spin: this is user-generated content, not expert verification.
The majority of the trail information on AllTrails is uploaded by users—individual hikers with varying levels of experience. While these contributions are valuable, they’re inherently subjective and often inconsistent. A trail that one person rates as "easy" might be a serious challenge for someone else. Similarly, details like elevation gain, distance, and trail conditions are prone to error, especially when left unchecked.
Here’s the problem: false or misleading trail information can and has put lives at risk. Inaccurate difficulty ratings or incomplete details about terrain, weather hazards, or required experience can leave hikers unprepared and vulnerable.
Why does this matter?
Hiking is an activity where preparation is critical. Knowing a trail’s true grade, conditions, and challenges can make the difference between an enjoyable day outdoors and a dangerous situation. Platforms like AllTrails should focus on transparency about their processes instead of misleading users with false claims of “expert verification.”
To all hikers: Don’t rely solely on AllTrails or similar platforms for critical trail details. Use verified, standardised systems or resources provided by national parks and hiking experts. Your safety depends on it.
Don't subscribe
Do not use. It took me four attempts to try and contact customer services - twice I used the online chat function which says a 'member of the team will email you shortly', yet I never received an email. Then I tried the support email address and completed an online form. They have taken money for a subscription without notifying me that it was due for renewal and, although I have been very clear that they are in violation of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, and I have a right to a full refund as part of a 14-day cooling off period, they are ignoring my request. Please, don't get trapped by the 7-day free trail as trying to cancel the subscription is a nightmare and this issue is still unresolved. Now, all my emails to them are being ignored.
Tried AllTrails in the U.K
Tried AllTrails in the U.K. but couldn't use it because it is in kilometres. In the U.K. we use miles and I don't even know what a kilometre is equal to.
You can use it one week for free
You can use it one week for free. I deleted my account before the week expired, but they still have made a withdrawal from my credit card. Stay away!
Not used
This year Ive walked two Caminos in Spain and Portugal, total 1100km, and walked trails locally leading up to these walks, 25km per every other day for three months, admittedly I haven’t always used All Trails as there’s not always a signal or it drops out along the trail, Now All Trails tells me Ive only walked for 2.5 hours all year, so won’t be renewing subscription.

They charged me even though I canceled my subscription on time, and their response time is extremely poor!

Same experience as most people was supposed to get a free trail for 7 days and a reminder to cancel if I didn’t want to subscribe
Guess what no reminder and they charged my card even though I cancelled on Apple account,
No emails have been answered either!!
Do not download this app!
They charged my card again despite I…
They charged my card again despite I remember last year was the same issue and I turned off the renewal option. Now I see on my profil the renewal option is on again. It's a complet scam. The app itself is useless, couldn't use it at all. And no option to find my card details to delete it.
PS. They promised me to refund the money. I am waiting.
Absolutely garbage !!
Absolutely garbage !!! So annoyed as signed up for a trial, which was for 7 days. It says you get a reminder after 5 days ! Which I DID NOT get !! Then they make it impossible for you to cancel or contact them!! I will keep writing these reviews until someone actually refunds the money that they have taken !
Alltrails, planning and navigating
I have used Alltrails several times to just plan routes and import GPX files. All fairly simple, although I find calling a trail a map confusing, even technically correct. Marked paths seemed consistent with OS UK paths. Using community trails also worked OK. It was clear that the route was following a right of way. Purchased the subscription so I could download maps and navigate using the app. Using a Samsung S20 all worked fine, Followed a 12k walk using the Alltrails mapping. This is a bit lacking in detail, so tried to download satellite view, but did not seem to work. Following a GPS track was OK, but without way points you cannot get a distance to next turning/ feature. 3 stars because the basics work. Would expect a bit more for the subscription though. Have not had to try to cancel a subscription so can’t comment on that. Though turning off auto renew was simple.
I thought I give it a go
I thought I give it a go, doing some hikes in the Lago Maggiore region.
Tried 2 hikes, both were completely inaccessible.
app pointed us to non excisting park spots... total waste.
Then my week of try to buy went by, and now I paid 30 euro for a bunch of useless green and black pixels which I will probably never use.
Waste of time, dont buy it.
BAD Maps. BAD Billing
I signed up for a free 7 day trial period. On the trip the maps didn't work and got us even more confused. It constantly said we took a wrong a turn when we were on the trail. They charged immediately at 5:00am on the day the free trial period ended. I hade a note in my calendar to cancel the subscription that day but they beat me to it. I canceled the subscription. AND then tried to charge my card again. Don't even bother with this company.
Update: They have not stopped attempting to charge my card despite canceling. Every single day for weeks.
Utter rip-off and expensive
Utter rip-off and expensive. Confusing to use, I am an avid and experienced hiker, but this app is a mess. Poorly designed, not at all intuitive, Additionally, it doesn’t know major trail name. This is the third hike it’s failed me on a hike. Friends agree. I’m better off with a compass and a paper map.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam. Charged me on apple subscription I didn’t want for a map that doesn’t properly work. Apple won’t issue a refund. What a disgusting situation on both sides
Never-ending subscription
The application is not good at finding or displaying trails. However, my complaint is with auto-renewals. I received a warning that an auto-renewal was pending in 3 weeks. Immediately responded asking support to turn off auto-renew. I did not subscribe through iTunes so it does not show in my subscription there. I subscribed through their website, so there should be a "turn off auto-renewal" button in my profile but there is not, so as mentioned, I emailed support. I received no response and they went ahead and charged me for the renewal. Went into their support system and tried to get the renewal refunded and was told that I only have a free subscription - then why did they charge me for it!!??
October 2024 update: after numerous emails and chat request attempts, someone finally responded to my support emails. They would not refund my money for 2024/25 even though I did not use the app, but they did provide written confirmation that my subscription will automatically end next year without auto-renewing. So at least they did something about it.
