I'm a Ioyal Amazon customer, but their video streamimg is horrible.

I'm a Ioyal Amazon customer, probably placing a couple of otders a week, so Amazon Prime might be worth it for me. But if I could give the streaming video servicev zero stars I would. I can't stand watching anything on it. In order of importance: a) the volume of ads, if you don't pay the extra $36 a year, is just nuts, worse than network television, b) despite that, the service continually has timeouts, not because of my home network (Netflix, for example, works fine) but obviously because their systems are undersized to handle the volume, c) most of their content is not included in the subscription, you have to pay extra, what you get for free with the subscription is pretty low quality on average; a few years ago it was better, d) you spend a lot of time fighting off their constant attempt to upsell for everything. In summary, they are an awful experience.

DONT NOT START FREE TRAIL!!
Honestly this steaming service is beyond a joke. They offer FREE trails but charge you at the end after you have already cancelled and you have no account left. There isn’t a customer service/ support number and if/when you find a number that attached to prime it doesn’t work. There assistance chat is laughable, an absolute joke and they should be ashamed. I have no possible way of finding out how I was charged when I canceled/ if I will be charged again as prime says I don’t have an account and I CANT contact anyone!!

The amount of shows/movies that need an additional subscription is insane. Not to mention the shows it advertises as prime video exclusive are always a day behind unless you have an additional subscription. This streaming app is a joke

Not worth renewing too many adverts

I only watch one movie every few weeks but the amount of adverts takes the enjoyment out of watching them. I was due to renew this month for another £95 but I’m not going to bother renewing. Much better to stick to live tv or bbc iPlayer.

Have been a customer for a while now…

Have been a customer for a while now but the adverts have made me want to leave. Also we pay a lot for subscription but most good content you have to pay extra. I'm considering canceling my subscription and agree with a lot of other reviews :(

I honestly cannot believe how bad…

I honestly cannot believe how bad Amazon Prime Video has become. It takes a special kind of audacity to charge people a monthly subscription and then still bombard them with adverts like we are watching free television. Even better, after sitting through the ads on a service we already pay for, we then get the privilege of discovering that a film or series we actually want to watch costs extra anyway. Amazing business model, really. Pay once for the subscription, pay again to remove ads, and then pay yet again for content that should probably have been included in the first place. Well done, Amazon. That is some truly elite-level greed.

Utter Rubbish

I'm currently trying the free trial, but I'll cancel it before I have to pay.

Most of the video/tv content is old and rubbish, the things one might want to watch cost an additional fee and the programmes are constantly interrupted by crappy advertising.

This service isn't worth it when it's free. If the subscription was set at £1 per annum it'd still be £1 too much.

More and more ads. And more ads. And now more Ads.

Prime use to be a paid service, and you got the video streaming with that. You could pay more, to rental items, much like other Streaming providers.

Then Prime decides, let's charge more - put ads at the start of programmes, and if they want to remove them, make them pay us even more.

Today, they have "upped" the adverts. Not just at the start, but it's during the programme. Sometimes 15 seconds, something 2mins 50 seconds.

If you go on YouTube for free, you get ads. You can bypass in certain ways. But if you pay them, I Assume zero ads.

Amazon Prime is frankly open to increasing ads even more, to PUSH you to pay. ie. they could make it like ITV normal TV. 2-3 Ads per hour, each one 2-3 minutes.

I'm sure it will happen. Just a shame, considering we use to pay, and not get ads.

Terrible experience

Terrible experience; I’m a prime Member and it’s extremely disrespectful the adds we are forced into. If it was 1 or 2 adds, but not, It’s completely disruptive, we can’t follow the video anymore

No longer a good service

I used to enjoy prime video for the ability to watch a film from start to finish without interruptions and it would be fine to have ads at the start and end. However, the whole reason I don't watch tv is because you get to the good bits and they put an advertisement then by the time it is over the enjoyment of the film is no longer there. Prime takes it to another level and sometimes puts 3+ mins of ads when there is 5mins or less of what you are watching left. This is a scummy business tactic to force you to want to upgrade a service you already pay for.

The way they are running the service now is exactly why TV subscriptions are dead. and illegal services are booming even with the risk of punishment it is worth. Now they expect you to pay for different services separate, then they want you to pay extra for no ads. You want to watch Tulsa King? Pay for prime then pay extra to get paramount+. I'm sorry the next thing you want to watch is on apple+, so you are going to pay an extra £5 to watch 1 thing. before you know it, you are back to a £50+ tv subscription.

The fact that they think it is ok to take away existing features and put them behind a tier list just shows how the company no longer has the same vision as the one we all supported. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a mug at this point.

If they want to charge more to people, they could at least pay the people at the bottom who do the hard gritty work a bit better instead of being national minimum slavers, maybe then your products will turn up in better condition and on time. Instead, they rely on agencies and 0-hour contracts to treat the real workers like crap and reduce public image affect.

I just don't like the fact that I have…

I just don't like the fact that I have to be forced to have commercials--I refuse to pay more--so I turn off the sound & leave the room. I also object to having them try to sell me Amazon products. Doesn't Amazon make enough money? I watch Prime Video only if there is no other source for a particular program.

I’m honestly very disappointed with…

I’m honestly very disappointed with Amazon Prime. For a paid subscription service, there are way too many advertisements. It feels like I’m paying just to watch ads before and during content, which completely ruins the experience. What’s the point of subscribing if I still have to sit through interruptions? Another major issue is that movies and shows keep getting removed without proper notice. You start watching something, get invested in it, and suddenly it’s gone. It’s extremely frustrating and unfair to subscribers who expect stable access to the content library. Overall, the platform feels unreliable and not worth the money anymore. Too many ads and constantly disappearing content make it a poor streaming experience.
