I originally signed up out of curiosity of my ethnicity background. And to my delight, I found my biological half brother! We knew my dad might have fathered a son when he was very young, but we had nothing to go on. I am meeting my half brother in two weeks! Thank you Ancestry!

Quick, easy, clear results

The DNA analysis was both unbelievable and useless. Apparently, I'm 43% Scottish even though there isn't a single Scottish ancestor I've found as far back as 1800. In addition, according to the DNA analysis, I have virtually no relatives at all -- a little puzzling since both my parents sprang from a tradition of very large families.

I wasn't happy with the "traits" section. None of them were related to health. Most of my traits were labelled as "average" and about half of the ones that were assigned a more specific answer, were wrong.

Very timely and seamless received updates everything was great I was septical at first about what the results might be but when I got the results I was floored they pinpointed where I was born within a 40 Km radius

I received my results and I can’t access the pages. There’s no one to communicate with except a virtual assistant that spins you into a perpetual loop of useless DIY and time wasting responses. It’s extremely frustrating. The website is truly amateurish, nothing like 23AndMe. Pop ups are annoying. They’re completely unabashed about up selling. It’s honestly not worth the time or money. Thankfully, I just switched and I’m receiving a much more precise and professional service from real people. There’s a huge difference! One is a gimmick, the other is the real deal.

I found out things I didn’t know about my family heritage.

It was time consuming but worth the wait. I was a bit surprised by the results but it also answered my question. I recommend if you haven't to give ancestry dna a try.

My DNA results estimated time of completion was August 10th, but I got them July 24th - a very pleasant and unexpected surprise!
My results are different from the DNA test I did before. I seem to have lost Germanic roots and gained Welsh ones! My maternal Great Grandfather, his son, my Grandfather, two of my uncles and 3 first cousins, had/have the white hair and blue eyes I associate with Scandanavian roots, and Ancestry DNA confirms that in my results. I am a surprised but happy customer re the DNA test.

The sample collection was easy and well explained. Shipping was in the timeline specified. The results were available in the timeline specified.

I was a little disappointed with the results, nothing of deep personal meaning, so I had a few thousand people who share 1-2% of my DNA that isnt such a big deal. Also many of the "traits" were inaccurate. Overall I did not learn anything new about myself or my family.

For one - you said my heritage is Ukranian , yet both my parents were from Poland !!!
Also , we didn't recognize any of the names you sent .
This was very disappointing !!

Quick turn around. the DNA analysis turned up pretty much as I anticipated with strong Eastern Europe and UK influence. The family tree information is limited though but did raise some questions about family history of which I was not aware.

DNA is great for finding cousins and confirming the thrulines of your ancestors. Able to collaborate with other trees and people.

The DNA results were exciting….even though I had an idea of what they might show, I was delighted to learn the main countries that played a part in my story…..I like the circle that shows the breakdown from each parent….I enjoyed reading about the traits of each country involved in my story and lots of little details were so visible in my family today….the typical foods that we grew up with, the hair color and eye color typical to relatives made me smile !….my only regret is that I did not sign up for more comparative DNA

Exciting! Very interesting! Did not know I had so many cousins... still have to explore.

all the rest is too complicated for me . I am not a geek nor do I know how to send you a picture etc. etc.
Am also francophone. do not always understand the subtilities.

Learned that ancestors came from European countries that I had no knowledge of including The Balkans!
Have a Facebook Friend with a unique last name. Turns out I have a cousin with the same last name. Who knows maybe we are related!
