Customer Service is Terrible And Ma …

Customer Service is Terrible And May Be Flat Out Lying.

I ordered this product on "Cyber Monday." The company was happy enough to charge me immediately. Soon after, they informed me that my shipping date had slipped to December 13-15. That date came and went. After a series of emails with customer service offered apologies but no substantive responses, the company informed me that my product had shipped on December 28 and provided me with a tracking number. Well, as of Jan 1, according to the USPS website, the tracking number does exist, but that it was created as a "pre-shipment" number and that no actual product has been shipped. It looks like Anova created and sent me the shipping information only to placate me and make me think that they had shipped, but in fact they have not. Oddly, I received another shipping "confirmation" email from Anova with the same tracking number indicating that the product had shipped on December 31 and that I should expect to receive it by December 28! What? The product not only cooks, but also travels backwards in time? I was looking forward to having this to make Christmas (or New Year's) dinner. I guess I'll hope for Valentines Day. To add insult to injury, I continue to receive daily emails about how great this cooker is. Terrible customer service. Many other companies (Amazon, Target) don't charge your card until the product actually ships. Anova would do well to improve its customer service.

Appalling service. Still waiting for product

Ordered and was told it would be a few days due to low stock, then told my del was upgraded to next day dhl delivery. Waited but didn't arrive, called dhl who informed me they hadn't been instructed to collect anything. Emailed ANOVA 3 times and not a single response. Had another text to say it would arrive today and guess what still no product. Amazing that the product is supposed to be great but the company could fail due to simple easy customer service being a let down. Order at your own peril.

Extremely bad customer service

According to Anovas website it takes 3-6 days for a cooker to reach the customer. It's now 2 weeks since I ordered the cooker, and they haven't even shipped it yet! Customer Service are about 48 hours to answer an e-mail and they keep comming up with the same answer: It will be shipped within 1-2 days.

The company has 1 product for sale that comes in 2 configurations. You should think it would be quite uncomplicated to pick the right item from the storage, put an autogenerated label on it and get it shipped. Apparently that is too comlicated for Anova. I wonder how the cooker works.......if it ever shows up.

The products firmware/software is incredibly bad

I bought the precision cooker through their website. Very fast shipping from Netherlands to Switzerland. A couple days later I received a DHL bill for import duties, which you should consider if buying from Switzerland.

Product build quality is good, however the product firmware and phone app are inexplicably terrible. One of the prime examples for IoT crap. First of all the cooker cannot use standard 5Ghz WiFi, still on ANOVAs website the specifications state 'Connectivity: WiFi'. You will find the 2.4Ghz limitation only in the support manual. Some functionalities can only be used via the phone App, on the cooker itself it is incredibly tedious to set the timer for example. If you manage to set the timer via the app, it does not as one would expect stop the cooking process once the time is up but the cooker starts beeping very annoyingly. The beeping can only be stopped at the cooker itself, not via the app! Imagine having the cooker running while you are not at home, a situation that this internet enabled sous vide cooker is obviously intended for... It happened to me on my first trial run (no food, only water) where the low water alarm was triggered. The cooker just started beeping incessantly, driving the neighbors crazy. Expected behavior would be one-two beeps, a push message on the phone and the cooker stopping the cook process automatically.

I could continue in this vein... it seems the programmers of the firmware/phone software have never actually used the product itself, the result is an incredibly frustrating user experience.
