Anytime Fitness Heath is a joke
Anytime Fitness Heath is a joke. I canceled my membership on July 7th with a doctor’s note, emailed and showed in person. Winta and Natasha both guaranteed me it was canceled, yet they’ve kept charging me month after month.
Winta and Natasha (when they even bother to be there) never answers the phone, never follows through, and keeps making fake promises about canceling. On top of that, the gym is always dirty and the machines are broken.
Anytime Fitness is dishonest, unprofessional, and a complete scam. Stay far away.
If I could give it 0/10 stars I would
If I could give it 0/10 stars I would. I moved a year and a half sgo. The place I moved to has a community gym. I tried canceling my membership and they told me I had to GO TO THE ORIGINAL place that I signed up for it. I drove back there and signed a cancellation. They are still charging me monthly. I have called. Left messages and emailed. I reported them to Better Business Bureau and have yet to hear from them. I drove back there twice since then. Its an hour and a half drive. No one is ever in the office. I am going to have to cancel my debit card at this point due to fraud. PLEASE for the love do not join!! They need to go bankrupt.
Tommy at the location in Chesterland…
Tommy at the location in Chesterland tried to blame a past manager for his pompous, self righteous, rude, interrupting behavior and it was actually him. No self awareness whatsoever.
The worst gym I have ever been a member of.
The worst gym I have ever been a member of. Avoid.
I was given 3 mistaken £100 parking fines in June and July 2025 even though I displayed my valid gym parking permit. I told the gym in June after the first time I would be quitting if it happened again (it did) so I quit. Anytime Fitness then harass me daily to take payment for August even though I had said I would quit in June if it happened again and have not been in August. Today I tried to make payment to stop them harassing me and they increased the monthly cost to £66.95.
The water refill facility and bathroom hand dryer have been broken for the whole of 2025 and I have never seen gym equipment cleaned by staff in two years as a member.
They are more efficient at harassing loyal members than they are at fixing their own house.
I have never left a negative review in my life but I felt compelled to warn people about this lazy, unhygienic, pig-headed establishment.
Much nicer gyms in Leatherhead where you won’t get parking fines from a dodgy parking warden the club are too afraid to speak to every time you workout.
Scams, beware!
I signed a 2 year contract that ended in May this year. Haven't used my membership in a good year because of the personal trainer crap, (which is a whole different story) and woke up this morning with a derogatory mark on my credit score. Apparently, once you sign a contract with these idiots its for good, until you contact them to cancel it. Now its gone to collections for a little over 1,200. BS. I kept it up till the contract was up. If your not an avid gym goer beware!
As far as the personal trainer, I signed a year with them for 160 a month, and after THAT contract was up, they still tried charging me 80 biweekly. Dont even bother with it. Go elsewhere.
They don't honor what they sell
I purchased a promotional membership that says that i can use at any gym but when i went to get everything set up they told me its only for the few local gyms. I travel and want/need access to all the gyms. Corporate was no help. The reviews for this company are true! You have better options out there.
Poor customer services, restrictive policies, untrained/inexperienced support staff
The only feature of anytime fitness that may make it a preference over other gyms is that it is open 24/7.
Cleanliness: Their locations, while not dirty, tend to be grungy feeling.
Equipment: The equipment is okay, nothing special, similar to what you should expect at most gyms.
Cost: Average - high, if you are willing to lock into a contract you can knock a few bucks off. Even then, the bi-weekly billing makes them more expensive than any other gym in town if you were to take advantage of their similar deals.
Customer service experience: not good - inconsistent - untrained help staff: We called to cancel my son's membership. Rather than pay the lump sum fees remaining in his contract, we asked for the payments to continue and just not renew. We followed up a few months later, after the renewal date, because we were still being charged. The rep we spoke to said they couldn't do anything for us and that we'd have to go speak to our local rep at the gym.
They continued to charge the bi-weekly fee during this entire time period, no rep made mention of a cancellation form though they did say that we could cancel via the portal (they didn't indicate the necessity to do so, and in order to do so we would have to pay-out all the fees accumulated since the renewal date, which was not fair to us since they had failed to cancel the renewal). When we spoke to the on-site rep, they said if we had truly requested a stop on the renewal than we would have received a cancellation form to complete. Since we couldn't show that we had received a cancellation form; it had been more than six months since our initial conversation with support (they only save call transcripts for six months), and the support notes from the call didn't indicate that we'd requested a stop on the renewal, that we still had to pay all the accumulated fees.
They couldn't even find the 2nd call we'd made to follow up, which would have been with-in the 6- month transcript window. They ran me around asking which support number(s) I'd called. I provided them with both; one form the email they sent my son; the other the first number that shows up in a Google search; neither were support numbers they recognized.
Overall: Unless you absolutely need a 24/7 gym and/or there's some other reason why an Anytime Fitness facility is significantly more convenient for your lifestyle, I'd avoid them. In our area they are kind of like the "trailer park" of gyms, but they are the only chain-gym that's open 24/7 in our community.
They don't follow their own contract
I had this membership for a month and decided to cancel it. as instructed in their terms and services and confirmed by an employee I dropped off a letter at my home gym (Canmore). Here is the contract I signed when applying.
(AUTOMATIC RENEWAL PROGRAM
Provided that MEMBER is not in default of this agreement and subject to the terms and conditions hereof, the membership will automatically renew at the rate indicated below, which rate also includes the Anytime Health membership fee. Renewal terms may be cancelled at any time provided a 30-day written notice is delivered to the CLUB's address or their designated billing company. It is also understood that the CLUB has the option to increase monthly renewal dues without notice during any renewal period.)
After 30 days and not hearing anything back I emailed the club saying I haven't heard anything but I did drop off a written letter saying I would like to cancel my membership, but no response. After seeing that I was just charged again after the months notice (35 days) I decided to call the number on the website which led to a call where I was informed that I did not need to provide written notice and in fact written notice was not accepted. I need to fill out a form on a different site2gym website. I asked for a refund but was told that I could not get one and I would have to be a member for at least another month before I can cancel the membership. I would have hoped that they would at least follow their contract as I made sure to read it and follow what I was told as I heard it was hard to cancel the membership but I guess they don't even do that. And they don't even try to find a solution when you ask. It's just the same "I'm really sorry about that" about 100 times when I called which started to not feel genuine after a while.
Hopefully the pause and cancel only costs me an extra 41.48$ but I guess only time will tell
The location in Ashland Massachusetts…
The location in Ashland Massachusetts is spotless, with a dedicated friendly staff. A perfect spot for a workout-anytime 😆
I’m not a member but I reached out to…
I’m not a member but I reached out to anytime in Yate (Bristol) for help. I could honestly not be more impressed with how they helped me, how quickly they responded and how gorgeously they spoke to me.
I sadly live too far from yate to train here but I would urge anyone that lives nearby - especially girlies - to train here as the managers do NOT F about with the rules and their members well being.
Absolutely king/queen energy ✨
Anytime Fitness is a complete waste of time!
I’ve never been a member of Anytime Fitness, so I wasn’t sure how they operated. I did some research online and found some reviews (both negative and positive) and general info, so I decided to check them out. A couple of days ago, I tried calling multiple times—no answer. I figured I’d go in person, but when I showed up around 10 a.m., no one answered the door.
Still willing to give them a chance as there's nothing else around, I scheduled a tour yesterday for 10:30 a.m. today, it was confirmed with someone named Hannah. I arrived early at 10:25 and waited by the front door. 10:30 came and went—no one showed up. I waited another 5 minutes. Still nothing. I called twice, no answer. I replied to their confirmation email saying I was there—no response. I even sent a text—again, no response.
At this point, I was beyond frustrated. What’s the point of scheduling a visit if no one’s going to be there or even communicate? It felt like my time meant nothing to them.
I left and ended up checking out EPIC down the street instead. Much better experience. Honestly, I’m glad EOS is opening nearby—they’re the gym I used to go to and Crunch which I’ve been a long-time member of.
If you’re thinking about joining Anytime Fitness, I’d recommend looking elsewhere. Your time and money deserve better. Anytime Fitness is a complete waste of time!
Worst gym chain ever
Worst staff , worst contract , worst prices , unfair claims, unfair fees. Never deal with anytime. I wish you close forever

In regards to Jimboomba QLD:
Nice enough facility, with clean, new machinery. However, uncaring staff and sus contracts. When signing up when these guys first opened, the young girl who signed us up appeared to have no idea what she was doing and when I asked her to explain the contract we were signing, she shrugged and said it would be emailed to us... Sure... I sat and read it myself before signing. Fast forward to yesterday - I want to cancel, as I am unable to use the gym due to surgery, medical bills etc - I have a good read through the contract **WARNING TO ANYONE WANTING TO CANCEL** -- per section 10.4, you have to provide written notice of cancellation (email or letter), giving 30 days notice. In doing this, you will then pay EITHER 30 days charges OR 50% of your remaining gym fees - whichever is the HIGHER amount (way to squeeze the last bit of money out of you, right?). You also need to provide reasoning as to why you wanna cancel. Fair enough. After doing all this, I go into the gym to pay my residual fees to finalise the account and be rid of AF. I walk in, dont get greeted by the blonde haired lad behind the desk chair who is on her mobile phone, I just stand there waiting, as I believe she is busy... Until she says "your total is $xxx" and holds the EFTPOS machine in my face?? Fair enough. I then ask her for something written to state my membership has been cancelled. If you know ANYTHING about Anytime Fitness, it's about how scammy they are and how hard it is to actually get out of a membership with them... She informs me I will get an auto-gen email within 10 minutes.. I wait 10 minutes in my car and nothing comes through. I send them an email asking them to action the cancellation, and today I receive 2 emails. Both contradicting each other. One says it's cancelled, the other saying it WILL be cancelled in 30 days... In summary, Anytime Fitness is the scammiest gym out there. ALWAYS read the contract before signing, be aware of their massive fees and horrid cancellation terms. Staff seem to be in agreeance with the horrid contract, or are just ingrained to believe it's "right" to mislead their customers.
New Dimensions for Every Body (Chippenham Gym)
They say the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to join (and actually use) a gym, let me suggest Anytime Fitness; newly opened in the heart of Chippenham.
As a lifelong advocate of health and fitness, I often tell newcomers and the unsure: everyone starts as a beginner. And this is exactly the kind of place that honours that truth.
From my first visit, I found a welcoming, non-intimidating environment, filled with cheerful, helpful staff and an excellent layout; dedicated areas for weights, cardio, stretching, functional strength, and a broad class schedule. Whether you’re just starting out, returning after injury, or are a seasoned gym-goer on a targeted programme, this space caters to all.
When I went for my induction, I assumed it would take something pretty special to lure me away from my current training venue. I’m too old and too long in the tooth to be swayed by shiny new kit or posh showers. But what won me over was the feel of the place; supportive, purposeful, and positive. The staff themselves may indeed lift weights but more importantly they lift people. I joined on the spot.
If it’s true that finding something you enjoy helps you stay consistent, then I wholeheartedly encourage you to give Anytime Fitness a try. You are the most important project you’ll ever work on. Don’t keep putting it off, join today, and make a fresh start on the rest of your life.
I’m incredibly disappointed with how I…
I’m incredibly disappointed with how I was treated by this gym. On 3 July, I submitted an online enquiry asking if I could bring a patient with me. About a week later, I was verbally advised by staff member Rhona that this was fine, and that she would pass it on to Charlotte. Based on that, I brought the patient with me on 10 July.
The next day, I was approached by another staff member who told me I wasn’t allowed to do so and, shockingly, accused me of calling the staff “fat moles” — something I absolutely did not and would never say. This false and offensive accusation was deeply upsetting.
Following this, my gym access was blocked without any clear communication, yet I continued to be charged fees. I’ve now been told my pass is cancelled, but that I’m still subject to a 30-day notice period, meaning I’m paying for a membership I cannot use — after being treated so poorly and unfairly.
It’s incredibly disappointing to be treated this way after seeking and receiving verbal approval in good faith. I no longer feel welcome or safe here and certainly would not recommend this gym to others based on my experience.
Hobart gym
I was a member of a Hobart gym where the bathrooms were poorly maintained, with broken toilet seats unrepaired for months and chipped tiles. After moving to another suburb, I canceled my membership, only to discover that the $89 entrance tag was non-refundable, a detail hidden in the contract's fine print. The tag could have been reused, and I was never informed that free access was available via the app. This reflects a lack of integrity toward members, in my view.
No customer Service, incredibly dishonest membership practices
Was a member at one branch in Greenfield, Wisconsin and I moved and they transferred my membership to another branch In Franklin, WI without my consent. Also they auto-renewed my contract WITHOUT my consent weeks after I contacted them several times expressing my desire to cancel. I stopped by in person several times during business hours at both locations which was a drive for me and every single day I went there was nobody there, can almost never get ahold of anyone on the phone, and their online portal is busted beyond belief. Finally I get a reply by email weeks later concerning my cancellation and they tell me I need to pay to cancel. They gave me account info and directed me to another online portal to pay and be rid of this and the online portal said I owe $0. So at this point I attempted to pay and I was unable to because their account information was incorrect. So now months later I have collections calling me for this phantom account that I have with them asking for ~$180. And its now hitting my credit. So basically, I call you regarding cancellation and you ghost me, I try to pay when you contact me about debt and you ghost me, so now I ghost you?? Stay far away from these guys their contracts are predatory and good luck contacting them if you want out.
I strongly recommend never signing a…
I strongly recommend never signing a contract with this gym, it's a shackle that won't let you go!!!!! First, you need to pay $50 for a magnetic pass, then you need to pay $30 twice a month, that is, $60 per month, and if you want to terminate the contract, you still need to pay for the next two months!!!!! You also need to pay for insurance of the exercise machines against damage once a year!!! The exercise machine itself is small, there is no room for gymnastics!!! There is no normal air!
Sandbridge Anytime FITNESS...
Sandbridge Anytime FITNESS...
I have been a member of multiple Gym's from Boston to Dubai and without a doubt Anytime is the overall best and best value. They are never overly crowded and Sandbridge Anytime is ALWAYS Clean. Having been to other local Gym's Anytime is like going to workout with Friend's and Management is knowledgeable and serious about your individual Working-out. I have been a Member of other local Gym's and there are times I could hardly hear myself think they were so loud, crazy loud.
Absolutely Awful.
Absolutely Awful.
I cancelled my membership back in February of 2025 due to having a second baby and not being able to get to the gym. I went to the location I always workout at, cancelled, signed an agreement and was told I had a month to use the facility. Fast forward to April of 2025, I noticed there were still charges coming out of our account for the membership. I attempted to call multiple times, and with no response I had to hire a babysitter to physically go there and talk to someone. During that meeting, the staff told me they had no idea why I was still being charged and sometimes this happens with the accounts system they use, they would call and get it fixed. This staff member also took a phone call and terminated someones contract at no cost and said they would handle it. That was on a Friday. The following Monday, I receive a call from a different anytime fitness location stating that they were my "home" gym and I needed to cancel through them, but there was still time left on my contract. I explained how that was never once told to me, and I thought the membership was cancelled months ago. This staff member then told me even though I signed a termination agreement at the other location, they have no idea what goes on between locations and basically it meant nothing. Mind you, my "home" location was closed for months due to a pipe bursting and equipment being replaced, so the majority of my membership I couldn't even use that location. I was told to write an email, expressing what happened and my concerns. I wanted my money refunded from the time the termination agreement was signed, and to not be charged anymore. I sent that email on April 21, 2025. It is now June 30, 2025 and I have not heard a response back. We are still being charged.
Absolutely do not recommend. A local FB group has countless reviews of the exact same thing happening to multiple other people. It seems this company makes a profit off of their negligence.
