Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 108 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the subscription process, finding it difficult to manage, cancel, or even sign in, often encountering issues with verification loops and unresponsive buttons. Customers also frequently reported problems with the website and app, describing them as clunky, glitchy, and poorly designed, making basic navigation and episode viewing frustrating. The overall user experience was consistently criticized for being unreliable, with frequent log-out issues, error messages, and constant freezing during playback. The minority of people were satisfied with the product content, noting that some shows and films on the platform were of high quality. However, even these positive comments were often overshadowed by the significant usability problems, with some customers mentioning that despite the good content, the poor functionality made it nearly impossible to enjoy.

Apple doesn´t disappoing

Uau. Again, Apple does not dissapoint in making you pay premium fee for shitty and overhyped service. Watching a movie on my pc and it seems 480p... That´s just shameful...there seems to be no option to change this. My internet is 512gb and it´s awesome with every other thing...Maybe if i paid 3000 more and was watching it on a mac the quality would be better. Overpriced capitalistic tech, Apple is s****

Have had so many issues getting logged…

Have had so many issues getting logged in to watch Apple TV. Tried to log in to cancel the service and got all of the way to 3 verification codes and it wouldn't let me continue. Contacted support, which took 45 minutes for a call back and it still couldn't get resolved. The support tech said to go to the library and try to log on there..... last resort for me is to cancel the payment from the credit card company. If I could give this experience a negative 10 I would.

Apple subscription cancellation is the worst

I've signed up to apple TV twice. The first time I couldn't watch anything, and I couldn't log back into my account to cancel it for months. They kept charging me even though I couldn't watch it and couldn't cancel it.
The second time, I had to try multiple times before I could cancel my subscription. I had so much trouble cancelling the subscription. At first I couldn't get into my account and when I finally got in, I had to go down so many rabbit holes, doing things like verifying my credit card etc. before they would let me do anything in my account and then they make it almost impossible to find the way to cancel it within my account.
I have never had so much trouble cancelling any subscription with any company

Locked account, no refund given

I wasn't able to access my old account because they required verification information from a credit card I no longer had.

I made a new account with my other email and new card, they accepted my payment for a tv show. When I went to log in the next day, my account was locked. I sent an email requesting to reactivate, that request was denied without explanation.

I called their customer support number, after being on hold back and forth and transferred to the supervisor, I was told there was nothing I could do to regain access, nor could they issue a refund. I was told to deal with it from my bank's side so I had to send them a transaction dispute.

Locked out after 2 days

I've only had apple TV for a few days, and on the 3rd attempt at watching it, I was logged out. When I tried to sign back in I was told my details were incorrect (they weren't) and then it locked me out when trying to reset my password. At that point there's nothing you can do until they contact you the following day, which is bloody useless really.

Apple TV not worth 1 cent much less $10/month

I've been paying $10 per month for Apple TV. I can NEVER EVER get logged in, have changed my password more than once, and all appears to be okay until I sign in and then click "continue". Nothing happens at all - no error message just sits there taking my money every month and UNABLE TO ACCESS APPLE TV ON MY TV.

Apple TV must be the worst subscription…

Apple TV must be the worst subscription service ever created. You will constantly face log in issues on the web browser, app and TV, 2 factor authentication every minute. The service doesn't work if you are travelling or using a VPN for security. I am now locked out of my account after viewing 2 things. I have only had the service for 3 days and am forced to cancel

Signed up for a subscription to apple…scam

Signed up for a subscription to apple TV. Opened apple account and installed app on PC & TV. All working fine and switched off. Next time I tried to use it could not sign in. Tried resetting password and account was locked. Then got an e-mail from Apple saying that access to my account is denied. Wasted 30 minutes trying to resolve and then told to submit a refund request - which you need to be able to log in to do. Lodged dispute with paypal for the refund. Have never and will never buy any apple product or service again and would advise anyone who values their time and expects any sort of service to steer clear.

I was invited to sign up for apple tv…

I was invited to sign up for apple tv for £2.99 / month for 3 months, now i am informed that i will be paying the regular rate of £8.99 unless i choose to cancel.

Not sure if this is truly a scam or is they are just a bit disconnected with their promo rates but i am having to spend so much time on the phone now trying to fix this mess out it's such a WASTE of my time - I'll never subscribe to Apple TV again.

Unimpressed with Gary on support who refused to log this as a complaint telling me that all complaints are just logged as feedback anyway so there would be no point.

I used to think Apple was a professsional organisation with the customer at its heart, but they appear more like any other top-down organisation who treats its customers with contempt.

Buggy

Buggy, unintuitive ui, (purposefully?) incompatible.. It's a shamefully amateuristic production, despite basically owning the market. Minimal effort was put in to dress accordingly to the theme of the streaming service party Apple felt obligated to attend.

They are a trap

No stars! Do not use or enter into any trial subscription with through Apple they will steal your money. I did a free trial with an app, cancelled before the date as it did not suit my needs for studying. I used for a whole 20 minutes and knew it wasn’t for me. Also would never have agreed to the premium $249.99 dollar upfront annual charge but the trial period gave me no other option. Also it went through Apple purchases, again no option given. Apple will not refund my money after my 2 disputes and the only excuse is the system won’t allow it. I have been stonewalled by Apple and cannot take it any further . I am stressed and, I am a student I need my money back .

Garbage. Pay A Subscription Fee To Pay More For Movies and TV Show Rentals Again.

I received Apple TV+ as part of an add-on through T-Mobile. Thankfully I don't have to pay extra for this ridiculous piece of nothing, otherwise I would have cancelled the subscription minutes after browsing through it.

I've been an apple user since 1989. But in the past ten years I've seen how the corporation has gone from what we once loved it for, to being nothing more than a greedy and arrogant monstrosity. With each release of a device or service, year by year Apple takes more away than what it provides . . . and charges a hefty premium for the privileged fools willing to acquiesce.

Apple TV, is just one more scam of theirs roping people into becoming walking ATM's that Apple can pull cash from every month.

The only nice thing I can say about Apple TV is that the platform looks nice. It's elegant, it's graceful, it's all pretty-pretty with its smooth graphics and black background. . . But that is just lipstick on a pig.

With Apple TV you essentially pay for the "privilege" of simply having access to Apple's lack-luster streaming offerings. Once you are allowed in, then you will find that you have to pay rental fees again for movies and shows.

So, really, you are paying a monthly subscription just to be able to access Apple TV+, only to find out that is pretty much all you get.

Access.

Then depending on what is offered you pay a rental fee for whatever it is you find interesting.

Apple can go screw itself, just on that point alone.

But that seems to be all that Apple is and has been about these days. Whether it's with Apple's operating systems or the physical design of its devices, as far as functionality or even innovation goes there is nothing all that wonderful going on with Apple and hasn't been for a very long time. Which for any other company I would not be so upset about. But Apple thrives on old reputations deservedly earned two decades ago. And whereas once I loved the company, no longer. Even the old notion of it being the “underdog”. Common’ it’s one of the rotating top three highest valued corporations in the U.S., between Microsoft and now Nvidia. It is hardly the sad, under appreciated company it once was. But hey, if the marketing sells, keep using it until it doesn’t.

What really bugs me, as far as the “free” content, there is very little on Apple TV in offerings. The selections available are extremely limited, with most of the up front free content being Apple productions. And they’re hardly worth talking about either.

Everything else, whether it is a series of movies bundled together from a franchise, individual films, or shows, you will have to pay a rental fee, some of which are hefty.

Sorry, I’m not one of those that can’t get through my day unless I’m entertained in some way, thus willing to pay through the arse for it either. There is definitely more to life than walking about with my face in a phone, or camped out like a turd in a cat box on the sofa all frigging night.

And yes, not to single out Apple for such shenanigan, Amazon Prime heads the line up with this scam and has for some time now. I do believe Amazon Prime was the first to do so. But I handle Prime in this way, I pay my Prime membership (for what amounts to an increasingly diminishing amount of service and products as time passes) and that is it. Amazon has diminished in quality, service reliability, and offerings over the years despite two thirds of its wares being handled by third party sellers. Which, by the way, you really don’t want to deal with when a purchase goes south.

So, that will be the day that I pay over and over for what amounts to little or nothing. Which is what Apple is offering. As an aside; it has been found that it is common for people to be unaware that they are paying roughly a $100 per month on forgotten or seldom used subscription fees when it comes to apps, and add-on to their phones and such.

Disappointing Apple TV+

This is a review for a three months subscription for Apple TV+ that was given to me for free when I bought a new TV at electronics chain "Elgiganten". Apple TV+ servies were rather dull: there were few movies that I was actually interested in. The TV series were bland and actually a bit woke/offensive to my sensibilities.
The cancelling of the subscription was a nightmare. It took over an hour to end it. I actually had to get manual help from the support as there were no working options to do it via my account at Apple. The support person was however helpful and it is therefore I give Apple TV+ two stars. That said, if the cancelling by any reason does not work and I will be charged anyway I will make sure to remove also that extra star.

overcharged

firstly, as others have said you subscribe to apple tv, through Prime video, then you have to pay extra to watch most of the content.

So i cancelled the sub after one month. Then i was charged again for the next month anyway. So i tried signing into my Apple account on 2 different browsers but when i got to the privacy blurb & pressed 'continue' it didn't work despite trying several times.

I got onto Apple customer support chat & had to explain things over a few times, somehow he magically changed things so the continue button did work. In the end the excuse that i was charged again is that it was done through Prime video, which is not a good reason.

i wasted about 40 minutes getting a simple thing like this sorted out, so angry!!!
