Found several AMAZING lifetime deals. Potentially life changing for me. This is where AppSumo excells. New launches that are looking for traction so they are selling a part of the farm. But... AppSumo... See more

Quriobot Changed Their Terms — AppSumo Ignored the Problem
I’ve been a long-time AppSumo customer and advocate, but this recent experience with Quriobot has been a clear failure on both the partner's side and AppSumo’s handling of the aftermath.
In 2018, I purchased Quriobot through AppSumo by stacking five lifetime codes. The deal promised unlimited bots, unlimited websites, and other features clearly positioned for agencies or multi-brand users. There were no clear restrictions in the listing or at the time of purchase.
Fast forward to 2025 — Quriobot suddenly began enforcing limitations and claimed I violated their Terms of Service by using bots for clients. They stated their terms hadn’t changed since launch, but that was quickly disproven. Using public records from the Wayback Machine, I confirmed that multiple versions of their TOS have existed since 2018. The stricter terms they’re now enforcing — such as “one organization per account,” “Control Room,” and third-party use restrictions — did not exist when I purchased the deal.
Despite presenting this evidence, Quriobot doubled down and AppSumo washed their hands of it, directing me back to the partner. AppSumo also refused to provide access to archived Q&A discussions that might clarify how the deal was originally presented to other buyers — all while continuing to stand behind their partner, despite clear inconsistencies.
I’ve wasted valuable time, lost a client project, and had to divert resources to untangle something that never should’ve become this complicated. What’s worse is the silence from AppSumo — a company that claims to “side with the customer if a deal isn’t delivered as promised.”
This experience has made me question the integrity of both the deal vetting process and the customer protection AppSumo claims to provide. I share this so others think twice before building business processes around LTDs that can shift under your feet without notice or accountability.
You gotta love AppSumo!
You gotta love AppSumo! When they say they got your back, they really do. I recently ran into a problem with a business and they went above and beyond by crediting me the amount for my purchase outside of the normal 60 day window. Crystal and the rest of the AppSumo team rock!
Refunders NO need to beware
I was in the wrong. But the mistake was unavoidable on my end. I asked for the support team to review my case. CASE was reviewed and it was responded to in my favor. I didn't quite expect them to:
1. Change their position. (They had the right.)
2. Respond in an extremely courteous fashion. (They did.)
3. Be extremely knowledgable and aid me in being a "smarter" AppSumo shopper.
I am a self-professed AppSumo GEEK. Now, though...I'm happy about it. :)
Happy Client! "Love you LONG time!" #Appsumo
I've been a client of Appsumo for about five years, and bought at least 30 different softwares and have always found the support responsive and prompt. You can't expect to be thrilled with everything you buy but the vast majority of the software, I have been. I asked for a refund once. I have saved an enormous amount of money with tools I use every week.
The Lifetime Deal Promise is Often an Illusion - AppSumo Doesn't Care
As someone who has purchased numerous deals here, I've come to a disappointing conclusion: AppSumo's model is fundamentally flawed for customers seeking genuine lifetime value. They excel at creating hype and using aggressive FOMO tactics (countdown timers, "limited spots") to rush you into purchases.
The fundamental problem is that the software companies' incentives are completely misaligned with LTD customers. Once they have your one-time payment, there's zero reason for them to prioritize you. Inevitably, they find ways to screw over the AppSumo cohort – moving essential features to new paid tiers, limiting usage, offering subpar support, or just abandoning the LTD promises altogether.
AppSumo's role in this is deeply frustrating. Once the deal closes and they've secured their cut, their interest in ensuring the vendor upholds the spirit (and sometimes even the letter) of the agreement seems to vanish. They've met their targets, and the long-term value for the customer becomes irrelevant to their business model. It feels like a calculated bait-and-switch, and AppSumo is complicit. Save your money and avoid this platform.
They aren't trust worthy at all
They aren't trust worthy at all. They favor vendors and there scams to help them make money. If you reach out it's a complete waste of time as they won't do anything and will work with the vendor to scam you. Even things like providing refunds are fake as they will take money from you if you do things like upgrade and refuse to put you back on your original plan for the refund and will even charge you a fee to refund your account and force you into a new plan. Scam artists at it's best. Lifetime deals in essence are nothing but deals you think is good because you avoid monthly fees but in reality you're at the vendors mercy once you're not able to get your money back. Don't even get me started on the thousands of vendors who come and go claiming bankruptcy or selling the platform and then your lifetime deal is gone, etc. The monthly fees are worth to avoid lifetime scams.
AppSumo is on top of things
AppSumo is on top of things! Very polite, and some awesome deals, and good solutions do exist on this platform. Not everything is a hero, but I had some great product buys I use each day. Thanks AppSumo.

AppSumo: Always Exceptional Support
I've been using AppSumo for a while now and have consistently found useful tools for my work. The lifetime deal offers are a major plus. Whenever I've needed support, I've received quick and efficient assistance. I recommend it to anyone looking for good tools with great value for money.

Terrible customer support
I am experiencing terrible customer support. I have an issue with my purchase, and I find myself needing to drive communication between AppSumo support and the third-party support team. AppSumo support consistently excludes the other app's support from emails or does not respond to their requests. It has been over six weeks, and I still do not have access to my purchase. This could have been resolved in a 30-minute support call between both parties.
JUST A SCAM PLATFORM!
AppSumo used to be good to get a great deal on business SW. NOT ANYMORE! It's a platform that promotes scams. Their so-called "lifetime" deal is not actually a lifetime and it's up to the founders if they honour the "lifetime" access to SW. If something goes wrong AppSumo does NOTHING! They even violate its own Terms and Policies. Noah is a lier who promises anything to take as much as he can from you. DON'T TRUST APPSUMO and save your money!

DO NOT TRUST APPSUMO
DO NOT TRUST APPSUMO! This company permits and promotes fraudsters and scammers to its customers.
A company will list its SaaS on AppSumo and its customers will purchase a Lifetime Deal (LTD), AppSumo provides 60 days money back but the scam company knows this, so it will make all sorts of promises and roadmaps which are disingenuous and within 6-12 months later abandon the SaaS. The service will gradually rot on the vine and there is no recourse to get your money back. Without trust and a promise by AppSumo to its customers one has to conclude both AppSumo and its SaaS offerings are potential scams and fraudsters as it’s a ticking bomb. AppSumo should be deeply ashamed.

Excellent Support
I’ve been using AppSumo for a few years now and apart from getting some real bargains, I have noticed recently that their support has been improving a lot. AppSumo is the only place where I will buy software as a service.

Sumolings Rejoice... Support to the Rescue!
I wanted to take advantage of a 15th Anniversary Sale at AppSumo and from time to time the platform needs you to change your password, which is cool. Unfortunately, my email server was misdirected and not operational, so I didn't receive the reset password. After getting things settled on my end seven days later, I resent my request and immediately received a follow-up from Andrew Church at AppSumo. What a professional! He noticed the original sent email bounce and checked to see If I received the new password reset email. Big time shout out to Andrew and the support team! Thank you!
I need to complaint about their lack of customer care
I need to complaint about their customer service, it's not the first time I require their care and their Live Chat Support but they are hand tied, any kind of issue small or big has to be raised to a Senior Account Specialist, that by the way I'm still waiting in this case for more than three days without any solution
It's like being a VC
I've been on AppSumo for several years now (since 2021) and bought 200+ deals. And in my opinion, in the world where every second person charges yet another new SaaS to make you pay forever and where anyone has 20+ ongoing subscription, this company is a gift from heaven.
Yes, there are dozens and dozens of tools that I don't use (maybe they are just not for me and i didn't have enough time to test it before refunding within 60-days refund window, or maybe they went out of business and I wasn't able to take advantage of "we got your back" 12 months guarantee because I wasn't paying attention - I have those tools too) but I have a few solid tools that I rely on every single day for years and to me it's absolutely worth it - it would have been hundreds and probably even thousands of dollars of monthly fees and I pay nothing. (Just some of the notable mentions: Voila, Noota, TextSniper, Vento, Junia, NeuronWriter, Webvizio and so much more).
Founders that come on AppSumo launch on the platform not because they have an amazing polished product and they want to give it aways at a long-term loss. They come (some of them at least) to get feedback and iterate and improve.
Buying software on AppSumo is like being a VC funding startups some fail, but some will give you X100 return (and to be fair the ratio between failure an success on AppSumo is way more favorable than in VC world).
I think anyone who can dedicate enough time to research the tool before buying (e.g. look at how founders respond to criticism and suggestion) will drastically decrease their chances to get a great deal.
Yes, AppSumo pre-vets to some extend, but their team does not employ CIA-trained clairvoyants, so I can't blame them for rotten founders. Just do your own research and be open-minded about the fact that many products are more of an MVPs then a ready to rock and roll product. Support the founders in their development process and 90% of them will pay you back.
Well, anyways, that's my two cents. I love AppSumo, even when it's not perfect.
Not nearly as good as it was
I've been an AppSumo customer since the early days and have bought many lifetime deals from them.
AppSumo used to offer a limited number of reasonably priced deals but many of them would go on to be successful.
These days there seem to be two types of app businesses on AppSumo.
The first type are the ones that use AppSumo to get a cash injection for software that is no longer being developed.
And the second type are the businesses that basically live on AppSumo. They tend to sell deals but then charge ongoing fees for often basic functionality.
On top of that, AppSumo has become increasingly expensive and service is sooo slow now, if they decide to respond at all.
AppSumo are also making it increasingly difficult to leave honest reviews as they understand people are less likely to buy products that are badly reviewed.
Best place to look to buy software first
These guys offer pay-once get it forever software, like the good old days when we could purchase our software and didn't have to pay each month for it. They have a great return policy so if you don't like it you can return it (I've tried it, they do refund).
This is my go-to platform to buy software if I can get it here, I even signed up for their $100/year premium plan, which is going to get me to use it more frequently. Tidycal was my first appsumo buy and while it was a little buggy early on, its amazing now and a way better deal than calendly!
Not a fan anymore, so many bad deals and appsumo does nothing!!
Did like appsumo at one point, have purchased over a 100 deals but can't recommend other do the same. It is a waste of time and money. Once you have paid your money most saas companies have no incentive to keep you happy and try and get rid of you. They lock you out of features and change name. Either way you spend hours testing and sharing feedback only to not be able to use the tool if it turns out good or the product shuts down.
