Overall, great customer service...

There were some issues with the quoted deliver time, which when discussed with the representative, seemed to be outside of their control, a little frustrating non the less. However, to counter this I was offered upgrades on the machine I had ordered by way of compensation and the machine was delivered in person at 8pm the following day of this discussion, which was excellent customer service. From my experience, I believe the company intended to offer exceptional customer service and honoured this where possible.

Great customer service. Great arcade machine.

Our new arcade machine was delivered on the due date and between the two hour time slot. Lovely looking machine with personalised graphics on the outside. Works perfectly from the off with 10000 games installed. I cannot fault it and my lad is so happy. Excellent customer service!! I would highly recommend if you're looking for a great gaming machine. Brilliant!!

I’ve now been waiting over 5 months for…

I’ve now been waiting over 5 months for a replacement part after the Pandora box failed a few months after I purchased the machine. Every time I phone it’s another promise to send the part out, waiting a week or longer before the next call, rinse and repeat. The machine is still in warranty, the issue is the individual answering the calls (same guy every time) has no desire to help, is either incompetent or disingenuous. I’ve now resolved to find the part off eBay. Please consider this a warning dealing with this business.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I would like to clarify the situation, as some important details are missing.

You mentioned that you returned your faulty JAMMA board, however we have never received it. When we asked you for the tracking number, you confirmed that you had only sent it by standard 1st Class post. As our Returns Policy clearly states on our website (https://www.arcadegeeks.co.uk/returns
), we specifically advise customers to use recorded delivery. The reason is also clearly stated:

“We advise customers to return parts via recorded delivery, as replacements can only be issued once the original part has been received.”

Mark, I am sure you can appreciate that we offer a 5-year parts warranty on all our machines, and without this safeguard we would be leaving ourselves open to fraud and abuse of the policy. Unfortunately, without receiving the returned part, we are unable to send a replacement.

Bought a machine from Arcade Geeks…

Bought a machine from Arcade Geeks several years ago. Recently the machine was knocked over onto a hardfloor and stopped working. I took it back to Arcade Geeks who found the problem (a power cable had come loose from the fall) and fixed it for free. They even polished the machine to make it look like new.

Great service and a very well put together machine.

Excellent service

A friend of mine bought a second-hand two player arcade machine that had originally been supplied by Arcade Geeks.

My friend, who isn't technically minded, asked for my help regarding its operation as he wasn't sure how to set the machine up to record high scores in games.

I contacted Arcade Geeks on a Sunday afternoon, hoping to get a reply later in the week. In a little over an hour I'd received a reply from Rod at Arcade Geeks.

He needed more information than I'd originally given him in order to fully answer my question. Following a couple of emails back and forward I had all the information I needed to set my friend's machine up correctly.

This was amazing service all round, especially given that it was a Sunday and even more so that Rod was prepared to help someone who'd bought a second-hand machine, rather than directly from them.

VERY Unhappy!

UPDATED AT BOTTOM-

Good machine, not so good service!
I placed an order for the Elite machine (the most expensive version) - it's not a cheap item! My order was placed early June and I was told it would be 4-5 weeks. Almost 10 weeks later, after several chase-ups, and a delivery let-down, I finally got the machine. To be fair the machine is good, only my light gun isn't working. I asked for an instruction manual or PDF to sort the gun but was told to watch a video, which was hugely unhelpful. I was then promised a phone call from tech support and even agreed and arranged a time for this call, but they didn't call me. I waited over an hour for this call. I give up! At the time of writing this, my light gun STILL isn't working, I STILL haven't had this resolved, and now I've just given up on it. I really can't be bothered to deal with this company any more. So, I have spent a lot of money, waited ages, been let down, and ended up with a machine that I cannot make full use of. My exerience with this company has been terrible, especially considering the amount of money I have spent with them. I expect much better.

UPDATE

Credit where it's due, the after sales care has been very good but despite several attempts I have been left with a console where the gun is still not working and I've had enough of trying to sort it. It just doesn't feel worth the stress and I'm instead looking around to buy an alternative gun console. Very disappointed.

For transparency: we’ve already provided you with several rounds of free one-to-one support, even though you recognised in your own words:

“I’m prepared to admit that this is likely a mistake I made during the setup. I think I will need to go through this process again to get it back to normal. I am aware that you have now completed all your obligations to me regarding this machine so if there is a small charge involved to re-do this then I'm happy to pay.”

Despite that, we continued assisting at no charge.

It’s also important to note that the AimTrak light gun is manufactured by Ultimarc, a third-party supplier. Where issues relate to the gun hardware (such as the trigger), the most effective solution is via Ultimarc’s own troubleshooting support — which is why we provided you with their direct guidance alongside our help.

We’ve always been happy to support you, and we believe we’ve gone above and beyond in this case.

Order placed in error

An order was placed in error by my son who is autistic and when I contacted the company to inform them, they understood and agreed to cancel the order and provide a full refund.

The staff are very polite and helpful and I would highly recommend.

Damaged On Arrival - Non existent customer service

Ordered a machine 1st July, said 3-4 week delivery which was no problem. Received no updates or communication so asked for an update 3 weeks in, received a prompt email reply saying the unit would be delivery 30th July, all good so far.

30th July comes and I have no tracking information or update so I ring and was told DPD had lost multiple units and it would be remade. Seemed strange as my DPD app had no deliveries shown but mistakes happen. Arcade Geeks told me someone would call Friday afternoon with an update, no call comes so I chase again to be told it would be delivered Saturday.

Delivery now shows in the DPD app and 2 well packaged boxes arrive. Open both boxes to find the screen scratched, smack in the line of sight. There's nothing to join the base to the top, there's no instructions at all. I manage to find some bolts in my shed to bolt the base to the head and fire up the unit. Upon it loading its apparent the A button doesn't work as you can't select anything, so I unplug everything and have a look in the back to find a cable that hasn't been plugged onto the A button.

Email Arcade Geeks to tell them the various problems and suggest either returning the screen or we come to an agreement on keeping the damaged the screen for partial discount - Arcade Geeks ignore. I'm now left to opening a payment dispute, which Arcade Geeks have ignored as well. I don't mind some discount as the scratch doesn't bother the kids, it bothers me though as its damaged. I don't even mind if they send me a new screen and I'll fit it myself, doesn't look difficult but ignoring me entirely just results in frustration.

Such a shame as the unit itself is solid, well made and the games are brilliant, with that proper arcade feel from years gone. Everything loads quickly and is easy to play and it feels like it should last a long time. I hope it does last as I can't imagine the 5 year guarantee means anything as they'll probably just ignore you if anything does go wrong. If they'd just sort out customer service they'd be onto a winner, from other reviews it seems common that when something goes wrong, they don't reply or handle it badly.

Update 12th August - had a call from Joe, very apologetic and helpful, discussed arranging replacement parts for the damages, together with a nominal refund for the problems.

Great machine - poor service

I was really looking forward to this arcade machine, and in terms of gameplay and selection, it doesn’t disappoint. The build quality is solid and the range of games is impressive. Unfortunately, the experience was let down by poor customer service.
I placed my order in early June with an estimated delivery of 1–2 weeks, but it didn’t arrive until nearly 4 weeks later. When it finally did, several issues became immediately apparent: no power lead (essential for operation), incorrect joystick colours, and no instruction manual.
I emailed the company—no response. I then called and was told the missing items would be sent out immediately. I did receive the instructions via email, which helped, and I managed to borrow a temporary power lead. However, a week later, I’m still waiting for the correct joystick tops and power lead. I’ve sent three follow-up emails this week and tried calling again, but no one answers.
In the end, I had to purchase my own power lead, hoping it’s compatible. While the product itself is great, the lack of support is concerning. A good product deserves better service.

Edit. 04/07 having received a phone call it seems the company are not receiving my emails - this may explain the lack of responses (but not why it has taken a week to ship a cable and parts)

Update 2 - having had the machine a few weeks now i thought i would give an update. Gameplay is good but some of the component quality is questionable - button decals have worn off already and speaker grills keep falling off so have had to screw on (they were only glued).

Love the space invader machine,Good…

Love the space invader machine,Good communications. Found it very easy to set up. As other reviews, there is no manual on how to work it, but I managed easily to navigate around it. By pressing player 1 on Home Screen this takes you to the menu screen.great addition to my pub shed.

Very good communication when I asked a question the product is well built looks good lots of game. No instructions but I e mailed the company sent them right away on e mail
There supposed to have for dowls to locate the top to the bottom they never came with mine but I got some nuts and bolts not a big issue

Unbelievable bad service

Unbelievable bad service, cancelled and then said they were going to deliver 3 different times, then waited in all day Christmas Eve and they didn't show up, I have had to call my bank and declare as fraud to get my money back, not even the decency of a call to say they couldn't deliver. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.

Trip back to the old days…wow :)

Can safely say anyone that has played on my arcade now wants one from arcade geeks! What a trip back to the old days, every classic and many many more really well built machine. Thank you arcade geeks for all your help after my many questions and some late changes. Highly recommended will be buying an elite in future! All I can say is go for it! Get one you won’t regret it.
