UPDATE to January 29, 2025 Review: Steer clear of Allgood Home Services HVAC (Formerly Known As ARS) if you value timely, effective service, and your family’s lives.

UPDATED: 03/03/2025 - I am happy to report that after my initial frustrations with Allgood Home Services (formerly known as ARS) and the non-communication of their service department representative(s), they did address my issue with my HVAC system. The HVAC technician, Chris Bell, came out and replaced the condenser after receiving several estimated time of arrival (ETAs) and status updates from their customer service representative or service department representative. While I was initially extremely disappointed with the lack of communication with the service department and the high labor cost quoted for fixing the brand-new HVAC system, the recent actions taken by Allgood Home Services have shown their commitment to resolving the problem.
Despite the rocky start, I appreciate their efforts to make things right and restore my family’s home HVAC system back to pristine condition. I hope this level of service continues with their service department, and I now feel more confident in their ability to provide effective service. Thank you.

I am extremely disappointed with the service (or lack thereof) provided by Allgood Home Services HVAC (Formerly Known As ARS). My family and I have been living without heat for an extended period, despite having a brand-new HVAC system that is only 1.5 years old; purchased July 2023. The condenser broke down, and we have made repeated calls to both the service department and the manager with no response or resolution. In addition, we were quoted almost $1,000 in labor cost for them to fix my brand-new HVAC system from their company. This level of disregard for customer concerns is unacceptable We trusted ARS/Allgood with our home's comfort, and they have failed us completely. I strongly advise ALL others to steer clear of this company if you value timely, effective service, and your family’s lives.

Harassing post repair sales calls will not stop

The actual service in the past was good but pricey. A year ago, I sold my home & I now rent a condo where all repairs are taken care of by the manager. I told that I no longer own a home & no longer need their service when they called the 1st time after their move. Still, I get constant phone calls, my voicemail is full of them, I cannot even use my cell phone the way I want to, my voicemail is full of them! I also went to their website & no where on it is a place to select “do not call”. They do have a spot for you to opt out of selling your information???? Why would I allow you to sell my information? They snuck that in when we were frazzled from the mess at our home. I may decide to buy another home or a condo but at this point I would not use ARS, why would I? They would rather harass me than respect my request to no longer call. Buyer beware, other companies that will help and not harass you. Next stop, the FCC as I’m sure there are others

It was very cold and i called for emergency to fix heat/air and they set appointment from Sanford Fl and sent an email conformation they would be here between 8am and 12. They did not show up or call. Suddenly i received an email to reschedual! I called and lady said "oh you cancelled!" Sitting here so cold I can promise i did not cancel or even call! I was going to when they didn't show at 12 but I had not done it yet when email came. I was handed the paper at Home Depot i saved and that is how i chose them. Second time Home Depot has provided terrible service

Terrible company

Terrible company! We had a system installed 4 years ago after seeing them at Home Depot. Our heat went out in December and called them out for service. It has been downhill ever sense. We purchased a service plan at the time and immediately regretted it. After a week of not heat…after service…and many phone calls to the company,No one ever returned our calls. We requested for the contract to be cancelled but still get charged each month. Our last call shows our contract still open. No one cancelled the contract at our request….several requests. Of course a manager is never available to take our call!

Shame on you and your workers

So, I purchased a brand-new system from this company. Immediately after install, I started having problems with the unit. NO HEAT!!!!!! They are great at sending people out for repairs but had no luck fixing it. They would send technicians to my home twice a month to work on this brand-new unit. For two years of repeatedly sending technicians to my house, repair my heat and was not able to make me happy. I had no choice but to call another company this year. I could not deal with another year of high bills because I had to use my stove and heaters to heat my home. I called CASTEEL. Casteel was able to fix the issue in one night compared to two years. Way to go Casteel, and shame on you ARS. It is great to have heat after suffering for two years. You should give me back my money or at least a discount on the unit.

I had a clogged main line

I had a clogged main line. I had called another company the day before, they could not clear the clog (2 hours trying) and said my cast iron was collapsed and the entire system need to be replaced ($68,000). I called ARS the next day for 2nd opinion.
Darryl came out (he found the cleanout the other company could not find) and had my clog fixed in under 15 minutes.
It it so refreshing to find an honest person working this trade. I will defiantly recommend them to anyone I know and will be my go to for any type of Plumbing needs. Honest and very reasonably priced.

Carrier unit is a lemon, multiple repairs year after year

I wish I would have done a better background check on this company. I purchased a top-of-the-line Carrier unit 2/01/2021. Initial install was not without incident. The unit worked for a few weeks and stopped working. The ARS service tech reported a 'loose' wire. For the past (3) three years we have needed service 2-3 times per year. Some services included repeat repair of the same issue. My impression is they have no idea why all these issues are happening.
My unit is a lemon! I am currently am waiting for a ARS service manager to call me to discuss my situation. Intermittent heating today with sub-freezing temps on the way...

Terrible Service

I would reduce the stars lower if I could. This is a terrible company. I thought going with a larger company would get better service and that is not the case. I had them install a unit that has already broken down after only as year and a half. I call the emergency help line they give me an appointment between 9-12 at night. By 1130 I had called 2 more times to see if they had an estimated arrival time, they did not but promised they escalated it. By 1:30 the next morning I still had not heard anything and after more "escalations" finally got someone that told me they could not get in touch with the technician. I go to bed, in the morning someone shows up to fix the system after not having heat all night. They were not able to fix the system because it was too complicated for them. These were the people that installed the system and sent out an unqualified tech. So another appointment later that day and my system is providing heat. Two weeks later my electric bill is through the roof because they only turned on my emergency system and did not actually fix my system. Another call for an appointment and here I am past the 6-9 appointment time waiting for someone to arrive. DO NOT USE THEM!!! The service is terrible and I no longer trust their installation.

Had ARS Come to my aunts home to…

Had ARS Come to my aunts home to install a new ignition switch on a furnace that was running perfectly well since sept 2024 until dec.17, 2024 in the am. it had been running continuously at 68 degrees all those months. The Tech came to the home placed a volt meter on the ignition as there was voltage but no illumination. He then takes out his flex camera and proceeds to tell us that the heat exchanger has a crack and he can not put an ingnitor switch in because it will cause carbon monoxide to go thru the vents..When I question him further, and tell him I will have peoples gas come out in the morning to check my heat exchanger for cracks he retracts his statement of carbon monoxide leakage...I tell him it's always the heat exchanger and a new furnace has to go in, all the time isn't it? He was telling me my 94 yr old aunt needed a new heat exchanger to the tune of...Now get this 3000.00 dollars. Now this is for a 63,000 BTU furnace in a 1600 sq foot house. The heat exchanger must have been made of gold because a new furnace would only cost me 2800-3000 installed.I do believe I could have had additional air-conditioning added for 5000.00. He knew my Aunt was elderly. ARS blatantly tried to scam her bank account. However ARS was caught by an undercover sting operation. They will be turned over to the proper authorities.

ARS Rescue/Rooter are liars

ARS Rescue/Rooter are liars. The write up say that they are professonal, an expert and all other good descriptive words. However I've scheduled 5 appointments, with tge layest being 15 December with them and still no response. Didn't think I would have any problems since I went through Lowes, the company I really trust for house repairs to use their contractors. They are excellent up front, getting your money, however service after that they are horrible. I did not know that they had so many complaints, against since I went through Lowe's. I'm so disappointed, I guess my only result is to take legal actions. OMG, they have so many lawsuit and bad rating with BBB. I just shake my head, now I can't even trust Lowe's for reliable contractors.

EXCUSES AND NO SHOW

Two days in a row we were told a tech would be out. The 1st day they called and said, he won't make it today. Day two, appointment was for 8am to Noon window. At 1:30 called to find out what happened and was told tech was running behind; apparently, they don't bother to let customer know unless you call them. Called twice after. By 6:pm we just assumed they're not coming at all. Wasted our entire day!

Major plumbing job gone wrong…

They did a major plumbing job on my drains. They had to dig all around the house to install new drains. They piled up all the dirt/mud up against my ac unit enough that it ran at a high head pressure. After a few days of calling they came out 2 times to move the dirt. I called many times but mostly was ignored. I would never use them for plumbing or hvac work. The "tech" even called someone to ask about working on the condensing unit. The only one I had any trust with was hard to get a hold of. After the fact I called another plumber and he quoted me $7000 less than what ARS quoted. I would call around for another vendor and would not use ARS at all. I had used them for years until this happened.

Faulty Equipment

Let me start at the scheduling of my appointment. The time was 8AM -12PM… didn’t show until 3:30PM. Then come to find out that the previous repair tech DID NOT RESOLVE the issue previously, he just patched it up. I have had this system since 2022 and I have had nothing BUT ISSUE AFTER ISSUE. You call you just get pushed to the side!!! I have six small children and live in Florida…. Right now my thermostat says 87 degrees!!! I’m livid with this company, this customer service, and the poor quality equipment that they sold me. They charged me $12,000 for this POS and it breaks down all the time. Do anyone know if I get a lawyer involved can I get my money back I’ve paid for it and the suffering myself and children are going through right now?? ARS you all should be ashamed of yourselves selling faulty equipment, and patching it up just to get pass warranty… shame on your company!!!

Awful company

Awful company. I have been using them for a few years, thanks to Home Depot for having joint venture with them for installation of AC units etc. Each visit they upsell (try to sell surge protector, additional services, air purifiers, new thermostat etc). Then it's the same story: each visit turns into something you need: leak test, more freon, new condenser. Also use unskilled workers, rarely see the same person twice. Last tech came for routine semi-annual maintenance of working system, he left system inoperable, not cooling and no one came back for 3 days in middle of summer (July). Again (November) here I am waiting for them, promised 2nd day in a row with no show, no call.

They are not responsive

They are not responsive. I called everyweek to get a return call and a document emailed and they never responded. The call center customer service continued to give the same response that I should received a return call, which never happen. This has been the worst experience. I am still waiting on my deposit refund.

Be Aware

Hello consumers;

I am going straight to the point, most people do not know much about HVAC and many other contract businesses work to fix our homes. I called 4 companies, and received many different quotes. ( The sales rep will give you an idea how their company works by how they talk to customers). Think of this like going to a car dealer for the first time and making a deal that you are tight to for 3 to 5 years.

Beware of Royal Air- Beware of the quote they give you, question is the price is to be true? Do not factor interest rate if you finance. I felt he was pulling numbers or the cost of a/c unit. Example if the rep offers you $10,0000, for everything, walk out the door and two minutes later ring the doorbell and take a thousand dollars off. Question it. ( Are they doing refurbished items?)

Crafty ELMER’S A/C and Plumbing- very slick and craft with their plan layout/ slogans or “use sport teams to rank their plans”, clever, but do not get stuck like glue with them . Do not be a fool. The sales rep was disrespectful, after I corrected him how he acknowledged me. Ma’amm and Sir go a long way than dude, bud… He did not have any diagram of the ac unit to explain nor show use how he got the numbers or cost for the ac unit

ARS Rescue Rooter- did give my family some good advice and informed us about ideas to cut costs in the future. I felt he was pulling numbers or the cost of a/c unit. He never showed us his tablet nor explained how he got the numbers. He did not have any diagram of the ac unit to explain nor draw one to explain

The Top 3 COMPANIES famous words is “ THIS OFFERS STANDS IF YOU SIGN TODAY AND I WILL GIVE YOU 10 MINUTES TO DECIDE” Offer Freon a/c of 410A that will be fading out. R32 is the new one that is coming out January 1, 2025

Just Fix It!- The sales rep was respectful, knowledgeable, he listened and understood my family's needs in this economy. He took measurements of each room of the house instead of googling the square footage of the house. He suggested another receiving vent because of circulation issues. He sold me a unit that takes R32 Freon instead of 410A Freon for a decent price.

ARS Columbia is absolutely horrible

ARS Columbia is absolutely horrible. They are rude and incompetent. After 12 trips (15 technicians including the manufacturer representative) the issue with my HVAC was not fixed and the corporate QA person told me to take my business elsewhere even though I had been a customer for over 15 years. The management team is rude as well. They do not care about the long-term customer at all. Absolutely would NOT recommend them at all. Cannot get anyone from the headquarters to return a call, so guess the lack of customer service starts at the top and rolls downhill.

I scheduled a maintenance call for between 8 and noon. I had not heard from anyone at 10am so I called and was told the dispatcher would call me back. At 10:45 I had not heard so I called back- got the same response. At 11:30 AM I called again and asked to speak to someone in the office, they said they could not do that but someone would call me back. At 12:15 I called back again and they said they would transfer me, waited on hold for 15min and someone ever came back on. They have TERRIBLE service- I just want to know when.if someone is coming!!
