Technician never showed up for service…

Technician never showed up for service call. Another technician came the next morning could not solve the problem. Total of four technicians the only the last helped but not completely. Was in the heat from Friday until Tuesday 4AM. Not a 5 star company.

I contracted for 2 AC Tune-us through Home Depot for rental properties in Denver. The contract was passed through the ARS Rescue service in Denver. Over a period of a week, despite multiple follow-up calls and appt reschedules, ARS never showed up for the tune-ups, couldn't seem to get the appt times correct, didn't bother to call for a missed appointment, etc. Absolutely horrible experience. I can't imagine a worse customer experience.

Terrible mistake

Terrible mistake! #1 Do NOT use Home Depot Home Services. Their service is poor and the price is double what you will pay going directly to an HVAC contractor.

#2 Do NOT use ARS/Rescue Rooter (Sanford, FL). They promise the moon and the stars and deliver poor products and poor service. I had multiple problems with the install and the equipment (Rheem). The 24/7 service department is outsourced and is not part of the ARS/RR company. I complained as soon as I heard the new condenser unit about the loud noise and the entire case shaking and vibrating while in operation. They sent 2 technicians who both said there was nothing they could do about it. I called Jenifer the QA mgr 5 times and all she did was play phone tag with me. After a month, I notified Home Depot and a week later my unit is still vibrating and shaking.

I did call Rheem and they said that any certified HVAC company can do warranty work on the unit, not just the installer.

If I could give 0 stars I would.Run away from this company! pure scam.they came out.did not touch my water heater and charged me $97 to basically first tell me I probably didn’t have a warranty so I needed to replace my water heater.then told me they didn’t know if I had a warranty so they would have to call the company who made the water heater and go through a 4 hour diagnosis.please don’t trust this company and save your money.they will only come out to convince you to buy a new water heater and explain to you how your water heater doesn’t look like it’s connected properly.

ASK FOR A WRITTEN SERVICE AGREEMENT- MIAMI FL

No star if possible. If you are dealing with them, ask for a written service agreement. They overpromised on the phone upon scheduling outlining atleast 7 types of services as part of my AC Maintenance/Tune up , I even doublechecked that a simple AC coil cleaning service will be provided for me as part of the overall AC tune up. Nothing was done instead he was just trying to upsell other services. Giving me a quote from their company and told me that the he could provide the proposed services (outside the company) for half the price.

He was justifying the price by saying that they are the best in whole of America. Which is cool if that's true except it was not exhibited with the service I asked for by just checking my AC Unit and not doing anything about it. I would expect that service if I asked for a consultation. Not for an AC maintenance of my 1Yr old unit.

He also asked the payment to be done by cash or check due to complexities of taking a credit card. I don't want to over speculate if he wants this for less audit trail but just putting that out there to ask for a service invoice with correct detail of services provided.

Frauds

Frauds. I purchased an HVAC system - PRICEY - ARS was Home Depot’s contractor. I had a one year parts and service warranty for the first year. I then sold my house and - after calling 5 times with a promised callback from the warranty department never calling, I was then told by a someone who simply schedules service that ARS warranties are NOT transferrable!!! What a crappy company! NEVER do business with them - and Home Depot also will hear about this!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

What ever you DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They only want to get into your home to sell you a new unit. I scheduled an appointment for the $29.00 air conditioner check with technician Andre Reed on May 29. The first thing he did was to tell the that my house is not zoned correctly and I needed another thermostat in my bedroom. Then went into attic to change the filter only to come back down to tell me a fuse blew. Mind you my unit was working just fine when he walked in the door. He said not to worry about the fuse he’ll replace it no cost. I positive that my fuse was fine and he had a blown one in his pocket! This is a horrible company that would have there technician out here trying to SCAM people out of money.

If anything happens to my unit because it was tampered with they will hear from my attorney!!!!

We had A.R.S come out to check our air…

We had A.R.S come out to check our air conditioner since they were offering a discount. We set the appointment date and they never showed up. This happened twice. Finally, the man showed up on the third appointment date at NIGHT when it was dark out. He finished all of the necessary tests on the air conditioner and had me sign my name stating that he did his job and were receiving the discount. Well, my credit card statement came in, and we never received the discount. We called ARS THREE times asking for our $39.00 refund and each time we were told that someone would get back to us shortly, and each time, no one ever did. So here it is three months later and I called again to complain that I did not recieve the refund from the special discount they were running. The man on the phone had no clue what was going on and just said "sorry" about 10 times. I asked to speak to his advisor, but oddly enough, he didn't have his advisors phone number. So, I asked to speak with someone in billing. Again, oddly enough, he didn't have the number for billing. As I became more and more upset, demanding that I speak with someone who DOES know what's going on, he hung up on me. Do NOT to business with this shady company!!

Dishonest and terrible to work with

Would never recommend this company to anyone. Came out to service our air conditioning with the goal of selling us a new unit. When we refused they basically implied we were too stupid to understand technology. Then, a day after they came, our perfectly working and relatively new hvac broke. Their goal is to sell you new hvacs and provide you extremely overpriced services that they will try to make you need.

THE MOST DISHONEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD

THE MOST DISHONEST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD. RUN.

My a/c stopped working and these were the first people I called. They said my entire unit went bad and I needed to replace everything. The guy had his iPad showing me units from 22k-16k. I was literally ready to get a 16k unit thinking that was my best option when my brother THANKFULLY stopped it from happening. The guy got very upset about it telling me “there’s no way I’ll find a better deal it doesn’t happen where I live.” (I live in northern Va)

So later that day I get ANOTHER company to come out. That OTHER man looked at it, it took him 2 minutes to replace a compressor and it started working. WITHIN 2 MINUTES.

It rubs me the wrong way knowing these people are absolutely ripping people off. And to think I was about to spend 16k on a unit I DID NOT NEED, the best part is the guy kept calling me coming down with a “cheaper price I won’t ever find”. The lowest he went was 8k and I didn’t even answer when he called me after that. To even think I would consider using a dishonest company like that is HILARIOUS.

I hope this review finds who needs it! These people are AWFUL and I would call ANYONE else.

Lastly, isn’t it a red flag when they start at 16k and come down to 8k? Isn’t it obvious you’re overcharging? Why keep bothering me coming down with a lower price?! The audacity to even call back later is a joke. Honesty goes a long way and these people do NOT have it!

ARS Houston SOUTH

ARS Houston SOUTH - no issue with the service call or the Tech Manuel, however, system needed replaced 13 grand (yes $13,800.00) later and they haul off the old system, I call my Homeowners Insurance to file a claim, this started 4/10/2024, here it is 5/2/2024 and we hear crickets from ARS when it comes to getting the paperwork showing system was fried and new system was required. This is in Houston, TX, A/C is a necessity not a luxury, even with a 5 grand deductible with a policy that has had no claims is better than footing the entire 13 grand.

My first mistake was to choose the ARS…

My first mistake was to choose the ARS for my new AC unit . It was a nightmare. The sales rep showed me one unit and they brought a different unit on the day of install. That itself shows the company is cheating. Then after 5-6 months, when I made for the maintenance service, they made some dummy appointment and on the day of appointment, one no customer service lady from dispatch called said there is no technician available for that day and she had to reschedule. Also, the lady said that since my maintenance service is free of service, I am not important to them, they will go to appointment who is paying for it. WHAT KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THIS. I spent almost $8000 for the new install, at that time they give you all sugar coated talking about the service. BUT ONCE THE SALE IS DONE, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER THAT. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. I AM THE SAME REVIEW ON GOOLGE TOO. HOPE THIS COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS VERY SOON. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.

ARS/Rescue Rooters are Crooks. Stay Away

Don't buy the maintenance contract that is offered by ARS/Rescue Rooter. This is used to get them into your house to check your AC and then lie about all the new parts you need. When they give you estimates, the prices are outrageous. I am 72 and retired and felt I was targeted. Now I can not get them to cancel my contract. They are thieves.

If I could give these people a zero…

If I could give these people a zero Star I would. Be careful when they come out to your house to service you with their $59.00 maintenance program that they have. I was told by two of their employees already that came to my house, that they are supposed to up sell you with their parts, because that is how the company makes money with their parts which they try to sell them quadruplet to you from what the original price would be at a store. Always follow them outside because they try to make it seem something is broken, and they will take pictures of things then go back and put it in your records then it's your word against there's because the company believes only what they bring back on the paperwork and pictures that they take. They also like taking advantage of the elderly people. Your parts can be under warranty, and they will charge you a large quote because what they are really doing is charging you for the part not the labor as they claim. They need to be stopped with all this over pricing and trying to scam people as well when you call them for a service call. I will be reporting them to the BBB.

ZERO STARS!!

ZERO STARS!!! These people never showed up for my appointment and then they started taking $20 per week out of my checking account for no reason!! They got $60 out of my account before I could get it stopped by getting a new debit card and going to my bank and putting a stop payment on them! After months of bugging them, I finally got $40 but they still owe me $20! I’ll probably never see that last 20!! do not use these people, they are very incompetent!!

After a 'somewhat' questionable installation, (lack of knowledge by crew...I believe) The recent technician came to my home (same day response to request) and solved ALL the problems. Anthony was an extremely knowledgeable tech and did a very complete and great job of making my new system GREAT!

ARS markets unneeded service

ARS markets unneeded service. After contacting ARS four times about a CO2 monitor a ARS technician and a sells person worked together in an attempt to convince us that our ducts should be replaced at a cost of $7,800. We got a second opinion and found that our ducts needed no work. ARS has done nothing to address the CO2 monitor problem. Disappointed! Don’t fall victim to the aggressive sell pitches for unneeded services. Our first bad experience with ARS after a decade of good service.
