Atlas Summer Courses (formerly known as Oxford Summer Courses) was established by 2 graduates, determined to share the academic spirit of one of the world's great university cities. We run two- and four-week academic and English Language courses for students aged 10 to 24. Atlas Summer Courses is independent of the University of Oxford; our courses are rooted in the city of Oxford, informing where we teach and the intellectually stimulating environment we create. Whether you are already at university, preparing to apply, or still at school, there is every reason to spend your summer with us.

Their misinformation on how things would run (and be) when the students got there did not match what was promised. It was as if the person advertising the program was out of touch with the people actually running it on site. In the long list of times that what actually happened was not what we were told would happen, never once were we parents informed. Worse, they were extremely defensive and blatantly apathetic to hearing any feedback; there wasn't even a post-experience survey for parents and students, which says a lot about how little they care about what they delivered and/or about improving. The lack of accountability was shocking, the disregard for student safety was shocking, and the inability to apologize for any of it seems to be part of why they have not improved. I hope their counselors can please take some time to reflect and then to learn accountability, safety, empathy, responsibility, and how to handle their mistakes in a polite manner. People working with youth ought to serve as positive role models, taking accountability for mistakes when they mess up; instead their treatment of parents and students is disheartening. This is not how you should run a youth program. My emails to them were very polite, but since they never cared to reply to them, I am airing it here to warn other parents and students. I hope they at least learn the lesson to reply to parents (rather than only when they are selling parents on what the program is supposed to be). I'm curious as to whether they changed their name (from Oxford Summer Courses) in order to shed all the past bad reviews.
My child had a poor experience with the accommodation because the campus was not equipped to handle the heatwave. It was so uncomfortable that they couldn't even sleep at night. Furthermore, they had expected more instructional time on campus to truly get a feel for the academic environment.
However it was still an extremely memorable experience and they were still able to learn a lot, especially from the extremely diversified people coming from all around the globe, allowing my child to experience lots of cultures. It was worth doing for the first time.

A a first experience abroad it has been a very good one. The quality of the staff is great and the director of the program Roger was really helpful as well as the rest of the members of the team. They really tried to make the experience a remarkable one for the kids.

My son had a great time and came back very excited about his experience and all the new concepts he learned. The only thing that gave me pause was the transportation to and from the airport for students whose airlines did not offer an unaccompanied minor service and therefore could not take advantage of the program’s airport transfer service. Fortunately, everything went smoothly.

The Oxford summer camps are well thought and well balanced.
The kids improve some of their academic skills of their choice in an interested way, they have the opportunity to meet plenty of people from very different horizons and they enjoy the summer with nice activities

My daughter found the course not at all engaging. Unfortunately it was too explanatory in her opinion. Inadaquate for the age of the students. She also complained about the lack of organization during field trips. As the group had very little freedom (as it should be because of their age 13-15yo) to do things on their own, I suggest the better use of time in group-proposed activities like field trips. One idea is to create two different options to sign up from to allow for smaller groups to be organized. This way it is easier to manage time and people, allowing for a better experience to everyone. Hiring age-appropriate guided tours during field trips could also be an option. Also: everyday trips to the city centre as an option to afternoon/or evening group activities should be offered as well.

Staff said I had wrong room and they forced me to make the decision of the rooming dispute and I payed for this room but staff said I needed to move and they gave no good reason to and my family saying it would cause trouble for me and staff were irresponsible but the staff were ignorant about it and the worst happened and I HATE THIS EXPERIENCE AND I HOPE NO ONE COMES HERE AND ITS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH INCOMPETENT STAFF WHO WONT HELP YOU AND NOT ANSWER YOUR CALLS. I hope whoever reads those you reconsider going to Oxford because it’s one of the most expensive and worst camps to go. To add salt to the wound the staff clearly said they would help and kept saying every time to me we will send help but the banging kept happening even after they said that so it’s completely useless giving a sense of false hope when it dealt with harassment

Great tutors and staff. The lack of AC, however, can get a little suffocating, especially during the heatwave.

My daughter had a great experience and will forever remember the people and the lessons she was taught at Oxford. Hope to send her again next year

My experience was characterized by many fun and intellecutal conversations with both newfound friends and my tutor. Oxford summer courses has done an amazing job aquiring staff (contact people on campus and tutors) and I felt safe, taken care of/helped whenever i needed and I really enjoyed my English Literature lessons with Mr. Douglas Clark who helped bring works like Julius Caesar by Shakespeare closer to us as a group of teenagers and to me as a non native speaker. I also never felt like my language skills werent good enough since everyone had a different level of english and helped explain things to eachother if there were misunderstandings or a slight language barrier.
Overall it was an amazing experience that I would 100% recommend to others!

Atharva had a great time and learnt a lot.The staff and teachers were really good.
The only problem was food and the food quality.Atharva and other children complaint a lot about the food and the taste of the food. The food was bland and not upto the mark.Infact Atharva got food delivered from outside almost every day.In the previous batches of Oxford summer schoola lot of my family friends complaint about the food.So the food -quality,variety,taste really needs improvement and upgradation.
