High energy and well organized brokerage

A high energy and well organized brokerage team makes Atom my favorite marketplace, especially for selling domains with "make offer" prices.
Atom landers provide a generous space for sellers to describe use cases and advantages for each domain.
I particularly appreciate how keen Atom is to tie up with marketing and branding agencies, which creates pathways for buyers to discover premium domains at a wide range of prices, many of which are available with lease-to-own purchase plans.

Atom is, without a doubt, the best domain marketplace I've used. They are constantly innovating and staying ahead of the curve. The user interface is impressively clean, precise, and easy to navigate, which is remarkable considering how many powerful features it offers. The best: their customer support and communication are top-notch

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback; we always welcome feedback as it helps us improve the user experience on our platform.

To clarify the misunderstanding, Premium listings on Atom.com are an optional listing type as we do offer several other listing types that users can select to list their verified domains.

Because we spend heavily upfront on marketing and retargeting of the premium marketplace; when sellers submit domains for premium review, they do go through multiple rounds of review. Once approved by one of our brandable domain experts, sellers do have the option to agree to the listing price and terms, and list the domain as premium listing. The other option is to simply not accept the premium listing price and continue with the previously selected listing type (plus or standard) and terms.

If a seller approves of the premium listing, they are agreeing to our terms & conditions for premium listings. If a seller would like to remove a premium listing at any time, we would require a 30-day delisting notice. We put this policy in place so that sellers don't rapidly list and delist their premium names given the amount of marketplace exposure they receive.

If a premium domain listing receives an offer or an inquiry during the 30-day delisting process and the domain sells while listed on our platform, our standard commission applies to the domain sale since the lead was generated through our platform due to our marketing efforts.

ATOM ENSURES EXACT KEYWORD MATCH ONLY FOR PLUS LISTINGS GOOD LUCK BEING FOUND

WOULD LOVE TO KNOW WHY I HAD TO FIND THIS AND COULD NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER OUT OF ANYONE? I FEEL AS THOUGH I AM DOING MORE TO MARKET MY DOMAINS THAN THIS COMPANY? ONE WOULD THINK THEY WOULD WANT THE SELLERS TO DO GOOD BUT INSTEAD PUSH THE DOMAINS ATOM OWNS FIRST AND TIERS THE REST SO THE POOR "PREMIUM" PLAYERS ARE DUPED INTO BELIEVING ATOM'S 30 PERCENT CUT OF THE TAKE WAS EARNED:) BUT HERE IS WHAT I FOUND ABOUT THEIR PLUS LISTINGS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING MARKETED AS LOSS LEADERS ON THE ATOM PLATFORM: Fellow domaines are your domains PLUS LISTINGS on Atom.com? you may want to read this if your goal is to sell the domain you lease from your registrar and perhaps leave ATOM HERE IS FACT: ....."

"It sounds like you’re hitting the "Exact Match Only" wall that Atom (Squadhelp) enforces for Standard listings. If your domains only show up when someone types the exact name into the search bar, you're essentially invisible to the thousands of buyers browsing by industry.

The "123 root words" and AI tags you have are likely doing nothing because Atom restricts keyword search visibility to their higher-tier listings.

To get eyes on any of your plus listings without just waiting for a miracle search, here is the reality of how to move the needle on that platform:

The "Plus" Threshold: Atom intentionally hides Standard listings from broad keyword searches to force sellers into Plus or Premium tiers. If you aren't in those tiers, your keywords (no matter how good) are often ignored by the search algorithm....."
SO IF YOU ARE SCRATCHING YOUR HEAD WONDERING WHY NO ONE IS SEEING YOUR "PREMIUM DOMAIN" THE AFOREMENTIONED ACTIONS ON ATOMS PART IS REASON WHY!

They sell domains they don’t own for 15x the price

Scam company that sells domains they don’t own at a 15x markup. I contacted their live chat as I was interested in a domain, the domain was for sale for $150. I negotiated a price and was told they couldn’t do it as “they’ve checked their notes and the domain is due for price increase” so it’s the best offer they could do. I checked cloudflare and the domain was available for sale at cost ($8.99). I bought it and now own it, for 15 times cheaper. This company is an absolute scam. They lie out their teeth as how can you increase a price for a domain you do not own. I’ve checked multiple other of their premium listings sometimes in excess of £2,000 and again, you can buy them at cost as they don’t actually own them!

Hi Connor,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate you considering Atom.com to purchase a domain and value all customer input, as it helps us continue improving the experience on our platform.

It appears there may be some misunderstanding regarding how domain marketplaces operate. Atom.com functions as a marketplace where independent, third-party sellers list domain names they own or are brokering for sale. As a platform, we facilitate these listings and transactions, but we are not the owners of the domains listed by sellers.

When a purchase is made through Atom.com, it is protected under our marketplace policies and terms. If, for any reason, a listed domain cannot be secured from the seller or transferred successfully to the buyer, the transaction is cancelled and the customer receives a full refund.

Pricing for domains listed in a marketplace is determined by the individual sellers and can vary significantly based on a range of factors such as the domain’s age, brandability, keyword value, market demand, and the number of related TLDs.

The resale of registered domain names has been an established practice since the early days of the internet, with some domains selling for substantial amounts due to their perceived branding or commercial value.

In rare situations, a domain that was previously registered may become available for standard registration if the current owner does not renew it before expiration. While our platform regularly scans marketplace listings to confirm domain registration status, there can occasionally be timing situations where a domain becomes available to register directly through a registrar.

Based on the domain history, it appears this may have been such a case following a long prior registration period.

If you have any further questions about how the marketplace works, our Customer Success team is available via live chat 24/7/365 and would be happy to assist.

Thank you again for your feedback.

Premium Listing

Premium Listing, Premium Commission… But Sellers Lose

My Review:
I listed 123tickets.com on Atom under their so‑called premium category. That means I’m charged a commission nearly three times higher than a standard listing. You’d expect that extra cost to come with better focus on selling my domain. Instead, Atom’s landing page actively recommends other alternatives — cheaper or more expensive — right alongside my listing.

This destroys the buyer’s emotional momentum. If we’ve invested time and money in marketing, even making phone calls to reach potential buyers, Atom’s system undermines those efforts by distracting them with other names. Worse still, Atom requires sellers to list domains at least 10% cheaper than on competing platforms like Afternic. That policy forces us to undercut ourselves while Atom profits either way.

In short, Atom’s model enriches Atom, not the seller. Standard or Premium commission, diluted focus, and unfair pricing rules make it a platform that works against the very people providing the inventory.
Sellers beware: the system is stacked against you.

They will try and Nickel and Dime you to death!

I've just spent about 3 days setting up sales of some domains at ATOM.com, but I won't be staying. It was too frustrating.

Site's decent but here's what I ran into;

Once you put a domain on there, you can "List" it elsewhere, but if you sell it, you still owe atom a commission. If you take it off, You have to notify them and you are still tied to them for 30 days for their cut if you still sell it.

There are 3 levels.

STANDARD tier - You can list there and elsewhere but they will get a 7.5% commission either way. Then, if you try searching for your domain using "Search Available Domains", the ONLY way someone would see YOUR domain on the site is if you use the EXACT domain name. This is basically useless. I feel I have a better shot of being found by someone typing it in in a browser and using Escrow.com for a safe sale.

PLUS - If you move up to "PLUS" you get to pay 15% commission. I haven't tried it, but I'm suspecting with their double-cut now, maybe your domain will show on a wildcard search.

PREMIUM - Listing with them has to be "Exclusive" and they get between 15% and 30% commission, but you are then grouped in with the TON of other listings showing on Premium.

OH, and to become a "Creative", which means you can submit your domains to "Contests", you have to pay a $10.00 fee. BUT you also have to move up a level, so they push you to at least a 15% commission level.

AND.... If you want to Move domains to the "PREMIUM" level, not only are the listings exclusive and commissions 15% - 30%, But you also have to buy "COINS", and it costs One Coin for each domain name you move to Premium!

I am leaving ATOM because of the Nickel and Diming they do... ANYTHING has to be better...

Billy, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for giving the atom.com platform a try; we always welcome feedback, as it helps us improve the user experience

We understand that setting up and evaluating a new marketplace can take time, however with our listing process, it is designed to allow sellers to add domains quickly so they can start selling within minutes.

I’d also like to clarify a few points mentioned in your review, as there appear to be some misunderstandings about how certain parts of the platform work.

Regarding the Creative membership, there is a one-time $10 fee to join the contest platform as a creative. This helps ensure that participants create legitimate accounts and engage professionally in contests, which protects both contest holders and other creatives.

As noted in our terms, there is a 7-day trial and we offer creatives the opportunity to participate in contests to experience the platform. If you sign up as a domain seller, the creative fee is not required when submitting your domains to the contests.

With respect to listing tiers, our marketplace offers different listing options designed to accommodate various seller strategies. Many sellers begin with Standard listings so their domains can start gaining visibility within the marketplace.

Our automated grading system reviews newly added domains after approximately 72 hours to determine whether they may qualify for Premium consideration.

Domains in brandable marketplaces are rarely discovered by exact-name searches alone; instead, buyers typically discover them through curated searches, categories, recommendations, and other discovery features across the platform.

Upgrading listings to Plus or Premium is optional but provides additional exposure and features that some sellers find beneficial. Our platform also invests significantly in marketing and retargeting campaigns to promote the Premium marketplace to a large audience of potential buyers.

When sellers register accounts specifically for selling domains, we typically provide complimentary platform coins that can be used for Premium submissions. These coins are part of our quality control process, helping ensure that submissions to the Premium marketplace meet certain standards. Premium acceptance rates are intentionally selective and generally are under 5%. Submissions go through multiple rounds of review, including evaluation by experienced human reviewers.

In addition to marketplace exposure, the platform also provides tools such as lead imports allowing sellers to bring their own buyers to the platform with a reduced commission as well as white label portfolio websites that sellers can use to showcase their domains independently.

Regarding commissions and external listings, Standard and Plus domains can be listed on other marketplaces. Commission is only applicable if a buyer lead originates on our platform and negotiations begin through our system. If a domain sells independently elsewhere without originating from our platform, commission would not typically apply.

Premium listings do include an exclusivity agreement designed to maintain consistency and stability within the curated Premium marketplace; however, sellers can still list their domains on certain external platforms provided pricing guidelines are followed. We do have a policy in place for delisting premium listings given the upfront marketing we do.

Finally, I understand that building momentum when selling brandable domains can take time. Many sellers evaluate performance over several months vs. days to allow listings to gain exposure and collect engagement signals that improve visibility.

Our Customer Success team is available via live chat 24/7/365. We would be happy to assist further as needed.

Thank you, Atom.com Customer Success Team
