Information provided by various external sources

Established in 1972, Aussie Vac is a family owned and operated business, specialising solely in ducted vacuum systems. Now a familiar household appliance, ducted vacuum cleaners have come a long way since the 1970's when such machines, only available fully imported were considered a luxury. Through our work in the housing industry an opportunity presented itself to develop a locally manufactured ducted vacuum system to meet the needs of Australian householders.

Supply and fitment of Av2700 Power Unit

We can honestly say that our dealings with Aussie Vac, from initial contact to installation of our Aussie AV2700 Vacuum, was easy going from start to finish.
Aussie Vac's staff and their attention to detail (from first contact over our need to replace an old, worn out 1986 Valet machine) was smooth and easy; and for anybody with any doubt of this company's ethical standards, we will state unequivocally that they are faultless.
We would also like to give our highest recommendation on our Installer yesterday who arrived punctually, having a friendly, kind disposition. He was conscientious, and his workmanship was most certainly of the highest standard.
Well done to this company and it's staff! We can only say this is a company well worth giving serious consideration to if you are planning to purchase a vacuum or supplies. You will not be disappointed!

Great Customer service as we all want it to be

I made an email query over the weekend and by 11 a.m. on Monday morning I had a detailed response. Paul could not have been more helpful.

I have bought product from them before and the service was very good; fair pricing & prompt attention, but this was over and above. I can only highly recommend them to anybody else who wants great customer service. Paul certainly knows his product.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed. Ducted system has only been used for 7 months when 2 nozzles have broken off. Apparently not covered under warranty and charged over $250 for service!

NOT A GOOD SAMARITANS

Called a technician to fix ducted vaccum in my house. The guy was there 5 min. apparently I totally forgotten that the switch hose handle has a switch and i accidentally turned it in OFF position. I have not used the vaccuum for at least 6 moths. Would be great if technician good guide me over the phone so I could find out without any cost why vaccuum stoped working. Instead he charged me $180 for 5 min time on my property. I am a senior citizen and for me just to hand over $180 for nothing is a big thing. No matter how i pleaded with technician he was stone cold. I simply can not leave a good feedback for hearhtless people and NOT A GOOD SAMARITANS.

Hi Svetlana,

Thank you for your feedback. We’ve reviewed the details of your service request and can confirm that it was booked by our support team in line with our standard procedures. These include checking whether the vacuum has power, makes any noise or suction, and advising you of our standard call-out fee.

It appears our team did not ask whether you switched on vacuum when trying to use it—a question that, understandably, isn’t usually necessary and hasn’t come up in our 50+ years of experience.

We understand this situation may have been frustrating. However, as there are real costs involved when a technician travels to your home, the call-out fee is necessary to cover those expenses, even when the issue turns out to be simple.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and will use it to improve our processes where possible.

Best regards,
Aussie Vac

Substandard product Terrible customer service

I replaced ducted vacuum head and hose after previous one lasted 10 years and the new system is sub standard quality.
The hose head slips out of the hand held part every 20 seconds or so when in use, there is nothing holding the steel pipe into the plastic holder.
I was using it and the hose slipped during a forward push which caused the plastic hand hold to break at the connection between the pipe and the holder.
I emailed the company and in spite of me spending over $200 they said I could purchase another head for $28.
Not happening.
Never again. I just glued it and taped it.

Had a problem with poor suction.in ducted service. Enquirer on line with Aussie Vac stating problem with view to them contacting me service. Short time later received phone call from Ben. He explained call out cost but also told me possible solution which I tried and fixed the problem. Great service. Thanks.

Turbo cat upgrade

I recently changed my Cleanup turbo head for a Turbo head. The cleanup head is good, especially considering the price. Its bearings seize after a couple of years which means dismantling, a bit of lube and reassemble. Could be an issue if you are not a handy person.
The new Turbocat has slightly better performance and it has real bearings, so should last indefinitely. The only is that it is susceptible to jamming with small stones, which happens regularly at our house, i blame the dogs bringing stuff inside. I just had to dismantle it to clear it this time, which was easy as its designed to come apart. Those same small stone did not block the Cleanup head however, you would hear them go through the impeller.

Disappointing

I recently purchased online the vacuum bags for Aussievac model 1100 . I found the entry point of the bag was very small for the circumference of the pipe and got it in with a lot of difficulty . Not happy with the bags at all .

Amazing service

Amazing service, within 24 hours I had booked a service request and Ben came out to our home. We inherited our ducted system when purchasing our home. Ben was great in explaining the system and how it all worked. I was able to purchase additional head piece which was very convenient.
Very happy with Aussie Vac.

Inferior products sold! Very poor quality! No refunds

Purchased a “Deluxe” vacuum kit for $234.95.

It was made of cheap plastic!

The attachments started to fall apart when I used it.

The handle felt like it was going to snap when I attempted to use it as it is made from cheap plastic.

And it was used to “try” and vacuum a house, not a skip bin as stated in the reply from Aussie Vac.

I guess if businesses like Aussie Vac have managed to get away with selling tens of thousands of cheap, overpriced plastic products like this one then they obviously get very defensive when someone complains and returns the product…

Upon completing the return slip and paying $32.25 to return the item I was then told that I would not be getting any refund as there is nothing wrong with the product and it was going to be sent back to me.

I would strongly advise that anyone think twice before ordering any product from this company as you will be disappointed once it arrives.

You would honestly get a better quality product ordering from Wish.com

Thanks for updating your review to include some of the facts that were originally missing.
You just need to add the part where you were clearly informed of our return policy - that if products are not broken or faulty, they need to be returned in as-new condition - yet you chose to send them back anyway, covered in dirt, dust, hair (human and/or pet, we can't tell which) and a weird powdery substance.
None of the attachments have fallen apart - this is clear in the photos we added to your facebook post.

We stand by the products we sell 100%, as do the companies who manufacture them (more info on them below). We are not being defensive, we just disagree with your suggestion that they are not good quality.

Thanks for your review Jeff, in the interest of providing readers with a balanced review, I have reworked it with a few facts and other insights as follows:

Purchased a “Deluxe” vacuum kit for $234.95. It was made of plastic by leading global floorcare companies including Wessel-Werk (Germany), Plastiflex (USA) and Centec Systems (USA)! The attachments appear to have been used to vacuum out the contents of a skip bin. The handle is in perfectly good condition albeit well used, it is made from the same plastic as 90% or more of the worlds vacuum cleaners. Upon completing the return slip and paying $32.25 to return the item, (and being advised products must be in new condition for change of mind returns) I was then told that “Given the large amounts of dirt, dust and debris on and around all the of the parts and packaging returned, our warehouse staff will not handle these goods in accordance with our internal OH&S policy. I will arrange to have the goods returned to you accordingly.”
I would strongly advise that anyone think twice before ordering any product from this company to vacuum out the contents of a skip bin, as you will be disappointed once it arrives.

- end.

If however you are wishing to use these products to vacuum a house, we are sure you will be very happy with the results, as are the tens of thousands of our customers who have used these products over the last 25 years.

It is a shame we cannot include pictures to show the appalling condition in which you returned these products to us, and screenshots of your bad-mannered and presumptuous emails to give readers of this review a better understanding.
