Always my first choice for car rentals.
I have been booking rental cars through Auto Europe for about 20 years and have never been disappointed.

Ok until you need to cancel a reservation…
No issues with 3 seperate bookings until 1 needed to be cancelled before pickup. Despite following Auto Europe policies to the letter we are still $1200 out of pocket almost 2 months later despite many emails and phone calls. Auto Europe seem to only be able to email car hire companies in Europe if there is an issue and will not ring them or you with updates. We were told our money is on its way in 5 to 7 business days but still no sign of it 12 days later. Now 12th Feb more emails and phone calls and no doubt false promises. Book direct with the companies, at least if things go wrong you can ring them and sort it out. Never again Autoeurope you've lost a repeat customer.

Have used AutoEurope before several times and has always been good with many useful choices. But it can be tricky to ensure you book the best deal for your own circumstances, so it is essential to be careful and to do your research and sign in beforehand. Get the quote delivered by email first and then review before booking finally. Although amendments can always be made easily subsequently.

Comparison of vehicle options great
Comparing the variety of hire and lease cars on one site is very helpful.
Making modifications/changes though was a bit tedious, having to re-enter a lot of the data and choices.

Some people rent and pay cars for another person.
The person’s details on the papers are not alway the same as the payer.
Makes it difficult for someone coming to pick up a rented car and having to show the physical credit card of someone else.

If you do not meet these requirements, you cannot collect the vehicle. These requirements are for security purposes.

Customer Support Help with Booking Rental in Italy
I had a little difficulty booking the rental online for our holiday in Sicily. So I rang Auto Europe's customer service in Australia and a wonderful customer support lady (Carol) provided accurate and wonderful service and also advice as to the need for international licence in Italy (it's the law) and other important information including explanation of the one-way fee for different drop off. Carol was excellent. Regarding the rental, it came in significantly cheaper for this rental than the other websites. Overall very happy!
