In spite of the car being booked through Ryanair with a Visa Debit card the employee at the counter at Alghero airport did not accept it and refused to release the car stating it had to be a credit card. He did not even want to try using it to block the funds because he took umbrage. The only difference between an internationally activated Visa Debit and Visa Credit is that the former is met directly by funds in my account while the latter through credit regardless if I have zero funds in my account. In other words all the staff member had to do was try my card and it would have gone through as there were sufficient funds. Also, this was the same card the booking was made through Ryanair. As a consequence I ended paying a further six hundred pounds to rent from a different company.

Good service and friendly staff. Easy to pick up and drop off. Majority of the vehicle is clean on arrival, only sills were dirty. Hand over documents are sent via email straight after signing. The guy at check in upgraded the vehicle for no extra charge based of our baggage and vehicle availability.
They could be more flexible on collection times, as we arrived earlier than expected and ended up waiting around for more than 30mins even though the vehicle was available.
NB: Be warned that you could be charged for a dirty car, the requirement for this came as a surprise as it was not mentioned until the check in desk.

The staff was friendly and quick. The car was clean and we had no problems. Only one scratch wasn't mentioned before, whichbwas taken in the list of existing damages, after we asked for it. And we didnt know in advance that there will be an extra fee for cleaning the car.

We ordered a car rental at the airport, without a deposit, with full insurance, so as to avoid delays and other additional fees and expenses. Everything was exactly as we ordered, without unnecessary delay. Within 10 minutes we were already leaving with the car key. It was the same at handover. The car was almost new and in excellent condition. A very willing and professional worker explained everything to us clearly. We would definitely contact this rental company again in the future.

I payed for 2 days reservation + insurance @ 60 Euro in alghero Airport. I was late with one hour in car delivery , and my credit card was charged with 60 euro.
Absolutely insaine. Never ever i will use this company and i do not recomend.
It is not fair what happened !

I had a great experience from the Airport to the return of the vehicle 7 days later. Lucas was attentive and helpful. The car was great, and the procedure was quick.

We had a very good experience with Autovia booking a rental car from Alghero Sardinia. We got an upgrade 1 or 2 classes above for the same price, car was pretty new and clean, staff was really very friendly. Next time Autovia again!

I was very disappointed that I was charged extra to pick-up my car late. It was still during open hours. The care was already paid for, so I'm not sure why I was charged a fee.
Also, when I returned, I couldn't find a gas station, so I dropped-off the car 1/8 low. I was charged $90 for 1/8 of a tank of gas. I have never experienced this kind of gouging before.
