I would never rent a car here.
Why? They not even TRY to sell an insurance for nearly €500 a week but they say that you HAVE TO. It is a shame that they do that. I was full insuranced but they said, thy does not count because this is Italy. SHAME ON YOU

Everything was fine, no problems, the car was great, we got upgraded to a much better one actually and enjoyed our trip. The staff was very polite.

Autovia was able to provide a vehicle when the car booked at an alternative provider (surprise) was unavailable. So with no booking and daylight hours diminishing Autovia assisted a number of distressed travellers with quality vehicles and thankfully did not price gouge.

Rented a car from Autovia through doyouitaly from Naples Airport. Both telephone numbers on email to request courtesy bus to depot were wrong. Had to get a taxi and caught office as it was closing. Car allocated was Opel Corsa with 66000kms. Staff left depot before I could check car. Upon starting it an amber engine warning light came on. I then drove the car to our destination. A couple of days later the warning light turned red and car went into 'limp' mode making it unsafe to drive. I checked oil and found engine was almost empty. I contacted Autovia who told me to top up oil and invoice them or return to depot 1.5 hours away! I bought 2 litres of oil. Subsequently Autovia (and Doyouitaly) have refused to refund me. They have offered a discount on my next rental but I have no plans on returning to Italy.
Had I not put any oil in and continued to drive I'm sure a huge amount of expensive engine damage would have been caused. In hindsight I should've done that and let Autovia sort out a broken car. Also, how could such a poorly maintained and dangerous car be rent out in the 1st place? What maintenance if any do their cars have?

Addendum : November 2023. Autovia tried to make a fraudulent withdraw using my credit card.

Just good car, no hussle at the counter about ‘extra insurance’ etc. Friendly and fast helping personel. Car was clean and very new (only 22.000 km). One damage point was not in the list, which was accurately put extra in the contract. Thank you AutoVia, next time again! :-)

It was 2time from you and it was very good. With this cars was nice trips to another new places. My erasmus is better now.
Maybe in another time I will rent some classic for example Fiat 500. Because I love cars and new places.

This company terrible service, terrible staff, abusive on the phone, slamming the phone down,
Hired a car was charged for the flight been delayed was told the car hire was canceled, so had to pay extra to re instate car hire. The car was returned early due to one of our family taking ill, the car was returned one week and half early! To Naples
The guy was rude, they excepted the car back didn’t say that we would have to pay anything further, he said they would return deposit the next day this didn’t happen, three weeks later the took over £1000 for alleged damaged which we did not do! This can’t be seen on the pictures supplied.
THEY WILL NOT DISCUSS OVER THE PHONE, THEY WILL SCREAM AND ARE ABUSIVE ON THE PHONE, SLAMMING THE PHONE DOWN.

Awful experience.
The rental office is not at Naples airport as described so you have to try and locate it via a shuttle bus.
There was some minor damage to the car upon return - they emailed me claiming for almost €1000 for a new alloy, wingmirror, new handlamp (all ridiculous)..and damage to the bumper which I accepted. No reply to my email but took money from my credit card anyway , even though they said email customer services within 4 days (I replied next day).
They are absolute scammers.
Avoid avoid avoid.

Update: no reply to emails. Hang up phone when I call.

The whole process was simple and quick, without any complications. Communication was also smooth. We were very satisfied.

Autovia is located in a separate part of the airport which is reachable by a shuttle service from the terminal at Napoli airport. We didn’t have to wait and the service was excellent and professional. The car we rented was perfect for us.

They charge 75% more than it is written in the contract - for example, when you hire the car for 220€ and this should be the full end price, then actually on the spot they ask 168€ more because some sort of insurance.

Absolutely brilliant company to deal with. Airport pick up quickly arranged with a phone call and they came only 10 minutes later. We had trouble getting our credit card to work for the deposit and the gentleman was exceptionally patient with us whilst we got it sorted. We were also offered a free upgrade which was really appreciated and the black vauxhall corsa we had was like new and such a lovely car to drive. The returns process was quick and easy with no problems at all and the shuttle bus was there waiting to take us back to the airport. Dealing with car hire companies can be stressful but Autovia were brilliant and so helpful we can't recomment them enought!

Everything was ok, the staff, the car, the rental conditions, etc. One thing was a little annoying, namely the waiting time to pick up/ drop off the car but considering that is summer season, all was ok.

I was sceptical because autovia were the cheapest option for our werks rental in Italy. But from start to finish the service was perfect. Car was also better than we expected as we got an opal corsa and booked a fiat panda. Very happy and will use again.

Horrible service, waited in line with other people for 4 hours!! Then the guy didn’t even apologize or make up for the delay! He did give others upgrades but when we asked for automatic instead of manual or newer cleaner car for making us wait 4 hours in the sun, he said NO upgrades! Very rude and will never use this company again and will tell all friends on social media to avoid Autovia!

Also there was no shuttle to pick us up from airport to Autovia office as was promised! I called to ask about the shuttle several times from airport and the person picked up and hang up immediately pretending the phone doesn’t work! Because he did that to other people in front of us when we were waiting in the Autovia office. Anyway we had to walk with our heavy luggage in crossing many streets from airport in the heat to the Autovia location!
