After taking my money for an order and never receiving it after a month, I tried to check shipping status. They would not show that to me unless I sent them a photo ID. I have never been asked for that before by any online company. I refused and they supposedly are going to cancel my order and refund me. If I don’t see a refund soon I will report this to BBB, my CC etc.

Customer service team didn’t replace the wrong pillow I received. 2 different size and color! I don’t recommend to anyone.

Avacado Green Mattress has developed two surface ridge lines from head to toe. Warranty says one must rotate mattress for first six months. Since ridge lines have formed in head to toe orientation, rotating mattress would have zero effect in correcting this product failure. Also with mattress topper one cannot simply flip the mattress. Would not buy again even if replacement (under warranty) was free. An expensive experience for a mattress that was initially comfortable but is now very uncomfortable for both myself and my wife due to failed product performance.

I bought a queen sized avocado green mattress second hand for $1000 to save the environment and us some. I believed the company's repute would save me from bad surprises. Turns out it's not worth a farthing. What a waste of my money!

This is a horrible sleep for my husband and me, 130lbs and 125lbs.

I've woken up with a horrible back ache every morning for three weeks.

It wobbles badly when one person moves, kicking the other awake. We could live with that. Much worse, the springs are so different from one another! One side seems ok - my husband's. On my side, some POKE and some SAG and there's this kink with a ridge right along the center - so it pushes me into the saggy regions. I've slept on bare tatami mats (think: cozy floor) quite comfortably. This mattress, however, is just unacceptable.

The seller is tidy, single and less than 120lbs, but moves into furnished. She's bought it 15 months ago. It looks brand new. She must have slept on the better side and never noticed.

I called CS to find out if something's broken or if this is normal, and to find out what's to be done. First, I'm told to just buy their topper. On insistance, I am told the "guarantee" only applies to the original shipping address (I can ask the seller to handle replacement, but they don't live here any more); then I'm laughed at and, finally, given the silent treatment by a supervisor.

What a perfectly horrid experience! This is no spirit of sustainability, your money is all that counts here. I would fully recommend you run, not walk, from this company.

There are alternatives with a spine that won't break trust like this mattress breaks mine.

Where to begin? So, I will keep it short and simple. The mattress is way too heavy, it had an odor, and it does NOT become softer over time. I tell you what don't ever have to have surgery and think your going to sleep on this extremely firm bed. It feels like your sleeping on a floor!

I had such a bad experience that I will never buy anything from them again, and am telling everyone I know not to either.
I bought a pillow from them as a precursor to buying a mattress.
The pillow I recieved was filled with black, hard foreign material, leaves, and fiberous pieces of husk, from improperly processed materials---Not the pure latex and kapoc, like Avocado claims and depicts on their website.
Not only was a lot of this foreign material zipped inside of the pillow they sent, but there was a lot of it mixed into the extra filling, which can be seen though the clear plastic bag. I thought this would be a simple fix and a quick customer service call, which I placed within 24 hours of my package arriving. Instead, customer service sent me on a wild goose chase, and wasted nearly two hours of my life, after five different customer sevice reps, online and in-store customer service calls, sending multiple sets of pictures, and emails. It was a no brainer for them to just send me a replacement and take this one back. Instead, after doing all of the above and waiting patiently for a resolution for a few days, Avocadp expects me to take my own time to return the product, and wait for however many days to recieve a refund. I'm willing to bet they will try to automatically charge me for return shipping.
surprised that Avocado is not able to provide a replacement of a pillow 8 paid for, especially after I wasted over an hour of my time on the phone dealing with this, taking pictures etc., and will now have to waste more of my time returning the pillow.  

None of the photos on their website, of this pillo nor of the internal filling materials,depict hard black seeds, or other foreign materials, which all came in mine.  If the materials that fill their pillows are not processed correctly, which it seams is the case, given the volume of foreign objects mixed in with the stuffing, it does beg the question of whether or not it's safe for one to lie their head on for eight to ten hours per night, or how their other, more costly products, like their mattresses, are processed.  All around a disturbing, frustrating, and dissappointing experience.  Avocado clearly does not care about the customer experience, nor stand behind the quality of their products.

I do not recommend the Avocado Green Mattress. I am 5'2 and weigh 120 pounds. It is too firm and without three additional toppers, I wake up numb across my shoulders and hips. I purchased the additional topper, and because of the firmness they sent me two more of the flimsy ones. Unfortunetly, due to a very stressful time around Covid and hope that I would love this new $1,000 purchase, I did not inquire to return the mattress in time. And tough luck, there are NO exceptions to help their customers. I don't know how people "love" this mattress. Take great caution if purchasing. And lastly, Avocado WILL NOT allow you to update reviews after a certain amount of time on their site. What are they afraid of?

I’m not one to write reviews but I would hate for others to experience what I’m going through with this mattress. I researched for at least a year and testing multiple mattresses prior to purchasing Avocado. I would give negative stars if possible. This bed DESTROYED my back, hips, shoulders, neck, basically my entire body. I have hundreds of dollars in medical bills now as I’ve had to work with a chiropractor and get imaging because the pain and symptoms I’m now having are so severe/debilitating. I almost went to the ER because the pain is that bad. It’s a beautiful mattress as far as “looks” but as far as comfort and quality, I’ve never experienced a mattress so uncomfortable and soft as if nothing is inside of it. You sit on the corner and there’s nothing to it. It’s confusing because majority of the reviews for the avocado green say it’s too firm. Customer service is not helpful either. They provided a topper free of charge however it is the flimsiest thing ever. It feels like it weighs 100 pounds but it’s got nothing to it and that’s supposed to be their firmest topper. Customer service has been made aware the severity of my symptoms and how unhappy and disappointed I am and continue to be of zero help. The process of having to return/exchange is an absolute nightmare I won’t even get into that here but from my experience, I cannot recommend this especially for the price. Thousands of dollars to wake up feeling like you’ve been beat with bat plus more money to fix the problems the bed caused. Also, the mattress reeks of urine… I can’t understand how a company can charge so much and then leave their customer hanging like this. It’s terrible. All around horrible experience.

We love all of our avocado products. We have 4 mattresses (all their green), pillows, protectors, and sheets. I’m honestly kind of shocked by these reviews. Zero smell at all. One thing we sent back, an alpaca topper, did smell like a barn at first but it quickly went away (mattress was better w/o it). As long as it isn’t god awful chemical new smell I didn’t mind it. So many of our friends also have these mattresses and we’ve never heard anything bad. That’s why we got the first one. Most everyone is fairly active/fit, but all shapes and sizes and seems to work. My husband has back issues from an old injury and now when we travel he realizes how bad other beds are, especially memory foam. We can’t say enough good things about our avocado and will never buy another brand, highly recommend!

Buyers be wary when dealing with this company. Once the bed was delivered to my home (no small feat) and unrolled it became an absolutely horrible mattress. I had the miss fortune to realize an issue 375 days into ownership. The mattress smelled too high heaven. The odor permeated the bedroom and seeped into other rooms as well. The mattress cover smelled; the sheets had to be washed daily to help the issue. Finally, all bed covering had to be tossed. Pillows, sheets, and comforters. A nightmare.
To put it bluntly, this company is incredibly poorly run. The customer service department is populated with children. The responses from the representatives were juvenile, meandering, and word salads. No thought went into the answers – perhaps the script had been misplaced.
I was instructed to buy an essential oil like peppermint and spray the mattress. Or just take it outside to air out in the sun. I reside in an apartment building. I just hung up and went mattress shopping. I purchased a Sealy Posturepedic queen mattress and a new box spring. The firm I purchased from removed the Avocado Queen overpriced mess and the box spring. I ordered new pillows and replacement sheets. I took a financial hit on this transaction with Avocado. The warranty is worthless. They simply can't be trusted.

Bought 2 mattress toppers and a few pillows and the quality is great. Took a bit long to ship

Incredibly difficult to get through to customer service once you have purchased a product. The product is good, but the service is non-existent.

Bought two sets of organic sheets. Washed one, not soft at all, and can't imagine it getting much better. Did not open the other one. Could return only one set as there is some small print in their policy saying that only one set of sheets per household can be returned. I returned the unopened set and will just cut my losses. Won't be using this company again. Customer service was polite but the policy is policy.

Just a terrible experience. Ordered a mattress, base, and paid for in home delivery and hauling of old mattress. Order never shipped so I called to cancel nearly a month later. No apology and only a partial refund - they claim they are entitled to keep $254.70 for in home delivery and old mattress hauling because I cancelled the order. Clearly no one delivered my mattress or removed my old one because Avocado never shipped it. Customer service is an absolute joke IF they even answer the phone. What a terrible company. Definitely don't get involved with this shady company.

I ordered a bed frame, was told it would be ready to ship in two weeks, two months later I just received an impersonal email stating that my order had been cancelled. Good marketing, horrible follow through. I wanted to go with a local, sustainable company. I should have given the other reviews more credibility.

I purchased an Eco Organic Kids mattress from Avocado and received in on August 23rd. The mattress is a combo spring and foam mattress. The item arrived rolled up tightly in a spiral, like most foam mattresses are shipped. I unrolled the mattress and let it settle into shape for a week prior to putting it on the bed frame. When I placed it on the bed frame I noticed a large buckle across the top of the mattress. After pressing, laying, stretching, the lump would not recede at all. We have no other options but to let my child sleep on this mattress with a huge lump in it. And after 2 weeks of her sleeping on it, the buckling is still the same. I have tried to return the mattress but Avocado has stated it can't be returned until after the 30 day waiting period. It's a faulty product. Why do I have to wait to fulfill their lazy policy? Any other FAULTY product would be returnable, no questions asked. The product stinks, and the customer service isn't any better.

We ordered a crib mattress. It was not even a safe size for the crib (shorter than advertised and shorter than what is considered safe for a newborn). It was also dis-formed with lumps, and not firm at all. I contacted the company immediately and they made me wait the 30 days to return a defective product. Their return policy forces you to jump through hoops that took almost 2 weeks to get through all the hoops and get my refund. At no point were the staff (or possibly robots you interact with in email) listening to my concerns about the mattress. They force you to donate the mattress to get your refund. So, I had to donate a mattress to a local charity where I told them this was a defective product, but I had to do this so I can get a refund. They looked at me with such puzzled looks and took it. I would look elsewhere for a mattress. This company does not produce quality products and they do not make a return for a defective product easy.

My husband and just purchased the top of the line Avocado Green mattress and we paid for white glove delivery ($300). They brought the mattress in the house but would not remove our old one because of “COVID “. You can not speak to someone directly. You have to message them. No one has responded. This company is a joke! The stores that sell these mattresses do not have telephone numbers. They do state that you can return this mattress but when you can’t communicate with them how is that! Delivery men came into my house to put mattress on the bed but wouldn’t take old mattress away. How does “COVID “ make that possible when there actually in your house. Do not buy from them. We bought this mattress because it was rated number 1 in Consumer Reports. You can’t even trust them. This is ridiculous!

Deceptive, dishonest specs. I ordered the Eco Adjustable Bed Frame, advertised and marketed that it is made from 100% GOTS organic certified cotton, is OEKO-TEX certified, and made in India. Upon arrival, the federal mattress tag states it is not organic cotton, not OEKO-TEX certified, and made in Thailand. Avocado to date has not meaningfully addressed my concerns nor compensated me for the false, deceptive labeling. As many others have written, customer service is terrible, but also bizarre. They operate by email and instead of answering direct questions, they constantly defer and deflect to another "team." I insisted that a supervisor call me, and no one ever did. An assistant manager later emailed me, ignoring direct questions, again not addressing my concerns, and forwarding me misleading articles from other Avocado "teams" that do not speak to the dishonesty.

Currently at 3.5 years with my Avocado Green Mattress (queen). Noticed in last 3 months or so a fair bit of squishiness developing below my hip (side sleeper), which led to back pain. I am 6'2" and 185 lbs. I rotated mattress routinely. I took a few measurements to try and quantify this and this is what I got:

When I put a 40lb kettlebell down where my hip normally sits while sleeping, it sinks 3 inches into the mattress from the plane of the bed. When I put the kettlebell in the middle of the mattress between where my wife and I sleep, it sinks down 2 inches. The overall sag of the mattress where I sleep is 1 inch when unweighted (line across the bed measurement).

Basically the mattress has stopped supporting where I put weight on it. I think the measurements when weighted are a more accurate reflection of structural support than the unweighted sag line measurement.
Thinking this mattress should remain supportive for more than three years, I submitted a warranty. Only took me 45 minutes to move the mattress to the floor, disassemble the foundation, and do all the measurements/pictures/forms they require! I was unfortunately denied since my sag was not 1.5 inches. The avocado warranty rep was not interested in my kettlebell measurements showing that the mattress stopped supporting weight. They said they would keep it open in case the unweighted sag gets to 1.5 inches. Well unfortunately my back health won't wait... So I went and bought a serta today from my local mattress store. Will not be buying Avocado again, and suggest you do not either.
