used these guys for minor domain…

used these guys for minor domain services and they are useless. The interface is so complex it's hard to follow. Then the inevitable happened. I decided to cancel the AWS service but it was impossible. I logged out and then when i attempted to login later it refused to authenticate my root level credentials and has been that way ever since. Support said they cannot help unless I login to discuss. They are disinterested in assisting further. I have now been forced to deauthorize their charges at the bank. Poor.

These are scammers and they will steal your website!

After paying $2610 for a website a year ago, they have sent me a $2500 plus tax upcharge for a ADA and DMCA certification, and won't release my website until it's paid.. In the meantime, they have blocked my site. Since they refused to give me the credentials to my website, they have taken my business from me. I have filed a complaint with the FBI Cybercrimes division, ICANN and WHOIS abuse. I may never get my domain back or my money, but I have learned a valuable lesson. No matter how many T's you cross or I's you dot, there will always be some dishonest people waiting to take advantage of your good nature.

Good customer service but bad interface

I used gp3 instead of gp2 because I thought gp3 is also free tier. However it is not. After a long waiting time, the customer service eventually let me changed back to gp2 and exempted the fee. Great! The only thing to complain is that the instruction in setting up a new instance is not very clear. I chose free tier and yet it allowed me to use gp3. 3 stars only.

My account got hacked and I got billed…

My account got hacked and I got billed for the expenses that the hacker has made. AWS closed my account and they cannot do anything for me anymore. They even wrote that the hacking of my account was my responsibility! Very poor customer experience and even porer customer service. For a billion dollar tech company this is very shamefull. AWS should be fined for this kind of practices.

Held to Ransom by AWS

I set up my business website and email via AWS Amazon and now the organization has basically hijacked my account. They state that my account has been hacked (which it hasn't), have charged me in excess of $14,000 and have now closed my account because I won't pay it. I have spent hours on the phone speaking to customer service and nothing is ever done. My business was taking off and now I am cut off from everything. I am incredibly stressed and frustrated and plan to seek legal help. Avoid this company at all costs.

Account hacked! Spent hours to avoid getting charged

Horrendous security. I find it absolutely appalling that a company like Amazon allows an account with 2FA enabled to get hacked so easily (I received no 2FA notification at all, the hacker was able to change my account's associated email address!). They were not helpful at all in getting the unauthorized access revoked. I spent hours on this to avoid getting charged for the resources used by the hackers. I will forever leave AWS, and they should be ashamed of this security breach. I would stay away from anything related to this company.

The Best and The Worst

Many of the AWS services are the best in the world. This includes S3, Route 53 and CloudFront. They're better than services from Alibaba, IBM, Tencent or anyone else. Unfortunately, Amazon WorkMail doesn't meet the same standards. It's very poorly designed, with "features" that don't make any sense and leave users disappointed and extremely frustrated. The first example is the webmail login, which disables the browser autofill feature. Another is the Safe Senders List feature. Each incoming message has images blocked, but there's an option to display images for the email address or domain of the sender. However, only one of these options can be selected and after that's done, this option never appears again. It's impossible to know which option to select and if the wrong one is set, all messages from that sender are broken, forever! Worse, there's no way to edit the setting! These are just a couple of examples of the extremely poor design of Amazon WorkMail. Don't even waste your time trying it.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER "SERVICE"

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I have just been through the struggle with Amazon support in India. Service / Support is maybe not the right word to use - because that does not exist. Their MFA reset function is not working, so we are unable to get into our account, and pay a pending bill which will close all services. We spend over 20.000 usd with them a year - which i guess is an OK sum that anybody would not mind?!

We have provided all types of requested documentation showing the card on file, the owners passports etc. but without success. Instead - "support" have been so kind as to ask us to go to a notary (which do not know us and vice versa) and spend thousands to verify the documents we have sent to them already. And this is because their reseat MFA function is not working... oh the joy.

After asking to speak to an adult, they closed the ticket and moved on to their next well-paying customer with the same problem.

So what have we learned - make sure you have have IAM access and multiple accounts, in case you get a new phone where your MFA does not reside as you cannot reset your MFA (which they forced you to enable). Or alternatively, marry a notary, then you can ALWAYS get into your account.

Wishing Amazon India a wonderful christmas and new years - hoping that your new years resolution will be to look up "support" and "service" in the dictionary.

Avoid like the plague. I never used my account but it was hacked and then the charges started. The promise of a year FOC is nonsense. Online support kept moving the goalposts.

Can't log in >2 month, incompetent support

Can't log in >2 month, support incompetent
For 2 months I'm talking to amazon and AWS support because they don't let me log in to my account.

Here is what happened.
I move from Russia to another country (Germany).
I had a phone number as a 2FA.
Amazon’s sms provider can’t send SMS to Russian numbers in Germany, sms simply don’t come.
So it’s amazon's issue, not mine.

Amazon thinks that it’s time to ask me for sms to log in.
Sms doesn’t come, so I can’t log in.
I also can't change the phone number until i log in.

Amazon.com and AWS support propose me to create new account and contact my bank to stop billings (i use AWS and they charge me every month), because I don’t remember what I’ve added to “saved for later” 2 years ago.
Are you in your mind? For 2 months I can't use service i'm paying for.
You can’t help your users with logging in. You’re amazon, not some small shop on the street.

AWS SYSTEM HACKED BY CRYPTOCURRENCY MINERS - AND AWS EXPECTS US TO PAY!

Hi there,

Are any other health companies having problems with AWS?

We have been paying $500 per month for well over a year to test the AWS system before considering a move to go live before the end of 2022.

However, in August we had a 'demand' for £38,500 from AWS.

It appears that the AWS system was hacked by cryptocurrency miners who spun up many instances in the far east - where we do not operate.

We have now been in dispute with AWS for 6 weeks and the interactions have been absolutely terrible.

We have moved our working capital out of the account linked to the AWS direct payments to avoid them raiding it.

Logic would say that if they reviewed our account properly they would see that we have been consistent and should not be penalised for a weakness/possible-flaw in their system. We also have the link to the source of the hacker but AWS appears to be uninterested.

Has any other company had a similar problems since the beginning of the summer? We are keen to see whether there is a pattern here.

I have heard stories that AWS had a data-breach over the summer and so if that is true we want to know whether our difficulties with AWS are linked to that.

Very interested to hear other companies experiences.
