Avoid at all costs!!!!!!!

Auto renewal apparently on my policy never agreed to it. Too expensive so went with a different insurance company and they still set up my insurance even though i didn't agree to pay for insurance. Then I have to pay a cancellation fee to cancel insurance I didn't want. Shake down is what that is. Avoid at all costs not good people to do business with!!!!!

Have home contents insurance, made a claim to be told "oh now you know you will lose this and this" fine.!! Then I heard nothing for 4 days, then claim handler rings me wife....he needs 3 photos of the object in question, sent them through....heard nothing for 3 weeks, then gets a call from axa....hello, there looking to finalise the claim as it seems to be going on a long time....ye i no pal I said, it's because your not doing anything about it.....then they look for another 10 photos of the object at which point I laughed and told him get the grip...the object was discarded...think I was going to hold it for 3 weeks....they then told me go get similar prices of this object from shops.....my question is....ARE THESE BUNCH OF CLOWNS FOR REAL....the worst bunch of laziest clowns iv ever had to deal with....it will be 4 & half weeks later b4 this claim is sorted. Extremely frustrated and disappointed…

Extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service provided by the AXA claim agents. Since the very first day I submitted my complaint, everything has been an absolute nightmare. To begin with, it took the AXA claims team a shocking four weeks to even begin working on my claim. It was only after I called them for an update that I discovered they had been neglecting my case and nothing had been actioned. Furthermore, there is a complete lack of follow-up calls from anyone in the claims team after a certain action has supposedly been taken. I am constantly left with no choice but to initiate the contact myself. However, whenever I am lucky enough to receive a call back, the process moves forward. Sadly, after waiting for a week or two, as per the lead time provided by AXA, nothing materializes. None of the promised actions are fulfilled and there are no follow-up calls to inform me of any document requirements or the need for my approval. The level of negligence and lack of attention to detail displayed by the individuals handling my case is absolutely disgraceful. To make matters worse, it has now been over two months since my claim was initiated, and I am still without a car. Yet, I am expected to continue paying for the insurance, despite the fact that AXA have failed to properly handle my case. This is completely unacceptable. MINUS 5 STARTS

I’d give zero stars if I could!!!

I’d give zero stars if I could!!!

My treatment by Customer Service has been absolutely DISGUSTING!

I asked for a quote for some car insurance. I didn’t qualify because I am over 30, a foreigner and despite having a full Irish licence haven’t been driving a car since I moved to Ireland 5 years ago but have been riding a motorcycle instead. Fine - I thought they would have wanted an experienced driver as a customer but whatever, moving on I have since been covered by an alternative provider.

AXA are now refusing to delete the personal information I provided when I attempted to receive a quote stating that all quotes must be retained for 15 months.

I DIDN’T RECEIVE A QUOTE!!!

This refusal to delete my personal information is a breach of my rights under GDPR.

I asked for my complaint to be escalated to their compliance officer but have not heard back. This is a serious complaint as these practices are illegal!

SORT IT OUT!!!!!

UPDATE: I did eventually hear from their Compliance Officer who sent me a cordial email. They were agreeable to deleting my personal information as requested. I have therefore increased to 2 Stars.

Disappointing customer relations

I have been with Axa for 14 years for Car Insurance. I always found them to be helpful and competitive. I have 14 years no claim bonus cert.I phoned them about my quote this year as it was unexpectedly high at 473.65. Up 50 euro on last year. The person I spoke with over the phone politely informed me there was nothing they could do with the price and they wouldn't hold it against me if I wanted to 'phone around' and that contrary to my belief, insurance has actually gone up this year.I was very disappointed and pointed out my years of loyalty and no claims bonus, factors Axa don't seem to see any value in at all it appears.I immediately logged onto 123.ie and received a speedy quote of 393 fully comprehensive. No follow up from Axa either as to why I didn't take up my policy with them.Very disappointing.

Comments regarding home policy

Comments regarding home policy. Moved to Axa 06/01/2023. Policy cost €470. Renewal Quote for same policy for 06/01/2024 is €689. No claims ever. One call to Zurich today who quoted €560. Called Axa out of courtesy with proof of quote. Basically said I can move to Zurich. What an example of terrible customer retention.

Second car insurance with no claims

Pleasantly surprising insurance company to deal with, allowed two cars on my policy without puniishing me or expecting second car to essentially start with no 'no claims' bonus. I was allowed to share my no claims between the two cars.

Would recommend for anyone who has a second hobby or weekend car!

Had a minor impact last April

Had a minor impact last April, forgot to engage parking brake and my car rolled into another parked car. Claim was opened and have had no update until renewal time 8 months later then they tell me claim still open, so I can not get a new insurance quote elsewhere until the claim it settled and must I must remains with axa at more than twice the cost of last year. Total scam artists.

Cannot fault AXA

I am not someone to normally leave a review but I have been a customer with AXA for 4/5 years now and I have had to use my insurance a few times for things. I honestly could not recommend AXA enough. I had to put a claim in a few years ago and they sorted a replacement car for me the same day. Recently I needed to use their breakdown assistance and they had someone out within the hour. The staff also go above and beyond to get a discount for you. I could not have had a more positive experience with AXA and I hope I will continue to.

Profiteering, taking advantage of struggling customers

31% increase in quote this year in the car insurance quote despite 6 years loyalty with no claims. The reason given was inflation, and it was stated their competitors are doing the same. When I pointed out inflation was 9% at the highest point, and it is now coming down (5.1% in September 2023), it was met with deaf ears. Profiteering and taking advantage of customers who are already struggling because they can.

Customer appreciation

While my first interaction was not great, possibly down to lack of experience, at front of house. I was advised that the matter could be dealt with higher up. Agreed to same and the customer service and respect for my years of business was extremely appreciate. I got a great deal and there was no delay. The matter was dealt with quickly, Efficiently cost effectively and politely. I dealt with Samantha in the Galway city branch ,who was a lady from beginning to end. I am a long standing customer and it’s nice to see some people appreciate the customer who has come back year after year. Thank you for your dedication, and kindness Samantha. From Mary K.

Woeful customer service, please do not buy

Had a claim made against me by another driver. It took two investigations and several months for them to determine that indeed, my blue car did not transfer white paint to the other vehicle. I had to call them myself repeatedly to get updates on this claim and they have never officially written to me to inform me that the claim had been dismissed. Each phone call took at least an hour of being dealt with by a surly agent.

When it came time to renew about 7 months later, they mistakenly stated that I have had a claim on my policy and my premium rose by ~€150. When I called the number on the renewal letter to question this, they confirmed that this was a mistake on Axa's but one they were unable to rectify. Transferred to claims department, interacted with several of the rudest people I have ever engaged over the phone- each person opened the conversation with saying their name only and nothing else, giving sarcastic or one word answers and ultimately repeatedly saying it's a different department/relevant person is unavailable and telling me to call back the next day. This is all over a mistake on their part which I have to resolve to be able to get away from this woeful company. Slow and dreadful, rude beyond belief, will never buy from them again

Rude

Had done an online quote which I did not proceed with. Had received two missed calls in the morning from the Cork office. I returned the call shortly before 5pm, with the intention of discussing my quote.I was greeted with "are you proceeding" I explained that I was disappointed with the quote since I had paid my son's renewal premium a couple of weeks ago (as he was on holiday and wanted cover on return.) which was much cheaper on an almost identical vehicle but for a driver of lesser experience. My observation was not entertained and was curtly tolt by the AXA agent that that was the quote...full stop!
I have never experienced such poor customer service This employee should not be dealing with the public.
On a positive note when paying my son's premium a couple of weeks ago I dealt with a most professional and courteous agent. Other AXA agents might do well to take a lesson from his book Unfortunately this has been a second negative interaction in recent years that I have had with the Cork office
