The shoes will fit perfectly from the moment you put them on and the insoles relax to the shape of your foot. Delivery was in two days. Although some people might feel they are on the expensive side they will outlast any cheaper shoe by years!!!

I have purchased many pairs of barker shoes over the years. I have always been more than happy. However I have returned a pair of boots only because fit is not quite right. It has been impossible to sort my refund. I was on chat box waiting for hours with no joy. However , after speaking to someone directly it was resolved straight away. I much prefer the good old system of customer care. Thank you.

I made contact via email regarding an exchange and the level of service provided, specifically the attention to detail was second to none. Lisa made certain that I was aware of the Christmas opening times, advising me not to ship until after 5 Jan 2026, purely to ensure that my return did not get lost in the Christmas rush. Shoes delivered within an OK amount if time - 5 days from time of ordering. Bought on sale as a gift, so you'd expect them to be in decent shape, sale or no sale, even the shoe box right?
Well, wrong, box was torn and looked crushed on one corner... I checked the shoes over and on the face of it they seem ok...
Contemplating whether to keep or not.. I mean, they are not for me but a gift, but you'd want the gift presentable right?
Chatbot useless... tried getting in touch with a real person, nothing, just got a reference number. Sent a message to the online email address... no response. As with some other reviews I've just read... customer service doesn't seem to be very good...

Definitely not worth £300 - your better spending your money on loakes or cheaney. The leather has came away from the sole after only a few times wearing! I wrote with a complaint and still awaiting a reply or receipt of email!

My shoes were delivered with a strap not stitched, obviously an issue with quality control, communication wasn’t great either, both disappointing as this was my 4th pair of Barker shoes, I haven’t decided if I have been totally put off as the other pairs I have are excellent.

The Thomson - Navy Blue Polish shoes have arrived on 5 Jan 2026, but it is somehow different compared to those on your website. The appearance is somehow disappointing and doesn’t convey the same compelling appeal as illustrated on the website. Seems like there were touch up to the photos to make it more vivid and aesthetically pleasing.
Have read through your returns policy and have triggered the return process via email exchanges, and noted that as an International customer, I have to borne the return costs, but it is what it is and I accepted that.
Horrible & practically non existent customer service. Multiple repetitive emails went unanswered, and constantly received automated replies that doesn’t acknowledge nor provide any updates or follow ups.
Send back with tracking postal, and the item was tracked and delivered to your company on 20 Jan 2026, and have send out multiple emails seeking confirmation of receipt and follow on for the refund.
Completely non-responsive and all I received were multiple automated emails which contains no further details.
Absolutely horrendous, especially now that I am out of money for the shoes which I have sent back to them, and paid for international shipping back to no avail.
Am mind blown that an established legacy and iconic company operate with a sub-optimal customer service and doesn’t comply with its return policy.
Highly recommended to reconsider for international customers, as firstly all returns are at own costs, and most importantly is that practically no one is following up on your case.
Barkers Shoes, please do what’s right for your paying customers.
Update: A day after I posted this review.
Barkers has refunded the amount back to me, as it should be. Pondering if they will have done so if I have not escalated the matter. While the quality of their shoes are good, the longstanding poor and non responsive customer service dented their reputation.
Revised rating to 3/5 stars after corrective actions were done.
Ordering the shoes was easy, delivery was excellent, product quality was top class….support needed to return a product is not acceptable. Still waiting for a response after a week and the BOT says write to customer service. Help needed.
Easy way to select and purchase my very favourite footwear makers 👍…. Web site a bit clunky otherwise it’s 5⭐️ all the way!

I ordered a pair of Barkers Valencia shoes in the sale from the website. The experience was effortless. The shoes arrived promptly, brilliantly packed with loving care and attention. The quality of workmanship is superb and the appearance of the shoes is without compromise. I find it encouraging at a time when Britain is in such a dreadful mess that great traditional British companies such as Barkers are still at the top of their game.

Absolutely no communication when my order went missing. It has subsequently turned up and I need to return it due to it being delivered too late. I do not feel I should have to cover the cost of the return (as per their returns policy), but I can't get hold of anybody.
Really disappointed, I would not recommend buying from this company, despite the impeccable quality of the product they sell, it is not worth the risk.
Over a week and still not shipped, was told 3 days ago that store manager had the flu and couldn’t send it until the day after. 4 days later still not sent, pathetic really when you think of the type of shoes produced. Feedback email sent out before shoe arrived, mind boggling.

Horrific customer service. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes and ended up getting the wrong size on 1 pair . It’s been a nightmare to get their customer service to fix the issue . I ended up couriering them back the wrong size and they’ve just stopped responding since. Now I’m chasing them everyday for 5 weeks. Still no response
