Barrabes nació en el pueblo de Benasque, en los Pirineos.
En los años 90 decidimos abrir, en ese pequeño y aislado lugar, la tienda de montaña más grande de España, entre las más grandes de Europa.
Nos atrevimos porque apostamos por algo que, entonces, sonaba a magia: INTERNET: vimos una oportunidad única para quienes, como nosotros, vivían en las montañas.
Nuestra tienda online fue de las primeras de Europa en abrirse, en cualquier ámbito, y pronto fuimos una referencia en el comercio online.

We understand the frustration of having to pay customs taxes now that the UK is no longer in the EU, but this information is clearly stated at checkout on our site. Please keep in mind that these charges are customs taxes levied by the government and not charged by Barrabes.

I ordered from Germany
I ordered from Germany. Barrabes has a german website, offered an excellent price. Seems to be a professionaly run shop with confirmation emails, shipment tracking etc. Delivery from Spain to Germany took 5 days. The delivered goods were as expected.
The only sore point: in case of returns, the customer has to pay the shipment back. This would cost around 15 EUR from Germany to Spain. However, I did not have to return anything.
I would buy there again.

Thanks for your positive feedback, Björn. Regarding returns, we offer return labels for 7€ for German customers to reduce the returns cost of paying out of pocket. We hope you buy from us again when you have any future outdoor needs.
There is a problem with the sizing
There is a problem with the sizing. The label on my previous pair reads EU 42 UK 8. This pair were given as UK 8 on the website but the label in the shoes says EU 42 UK 9 and they are too big.
Also, they were not delivered to my address, just the local post office.

Orders are left at the local post office only when delivery has not been possible due to absence of course, as in your case. If the item does not fit you, we accept returns for up to 30 days after purchase. Just contact our Customer Service Department for details.

I did not rejected this product due to long procedure (writings for complaint, send it to Spain and wait the next steps etc. )

Recommendation!
I was looking for a new iceaxe that was sold out in that seize in all e-commerce-shops in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Since I never ordered at Barrabes I looked the shop up at trustpilot. So then hesitatet reading some negative comments. Nevertheless I ordered, knowing that many shops have problems due to the pandemic crisis. I got to say the shopping experience was flawless. Everything went smooth. The shops communication was good, package tracking until it left GLS sorting center. The article arrived within 11 days. It was carefully packed. I definitly do recommend Barrabes.

Still waiting for my refund...
Ordered some running shoes which unfortunately didn't fit, so I returned them to the UK store (Royal mail tracked and signed) with all relevant paperwork and it was received/signed for on Nov 30th.
I received an acknowledgment on Dec 2nd by email saying my refund is being processed.
On the 9th December I requested an update as I had still not received my refund.
I've not had any response, nor my money back as of today (Dec 14th)
Not impressed.
Edit* my refund miraculously materialised after this review was verified. Not a PayPal issue at all.

Hi, your refund was processed on December 2nd as indicated. The issue in this case is with PayPal and not Barrabes. They can take a long time to actually release the funds, but you'll need to contact them for more details.
wrong size ordered
Mike was an excellent support, polite and very quick to answer and meet my demands. I ordered the wrong size jacket, afterwards it turned out that the other size I ordered did not fit as well.
I have ordered items from Barrabes in the past as well but after this great service I am looking forward to purchasing again.

La sportiva Trango Tech boots replaced FOC
I bought a pair of La sportiva Trango Tech GTX boots from the Barrabes website at the end of January 2020. They started to leak water and the thin material on the sides wore through. I sent an email with photos, then I phoned the UK phone number which transfers to Spain and spoke to someone in English. They told me to return the boots to their UK address. I posted them on 5th November and new replacements arrived (the leather version (the leather version which should be stronger) on 23rd November at no charge. I am delighted with the excellent service that Barrabes has provided.
