When you have a problem they're not there to help

We’ve lived in the area for eight years and we were excited to buy our ironmongery from Beardmore when we finally renovated our home. We went to the shop several times, chose the items personally and then our builder who we paid in full paid them (under guise of a so called discount). We had to fire our builder (Nu Projects) because they don’t know what they’re doing in construction and lied to us about underlying costs. Beardmore refused to release the items we paid for to us (which are fully paid for). What’s worse is they just didn’t care, threw their hands up, shrugged, kept our £12,000 and shut the door on us-only delivering a few handles to our joiner (who also went bust). No effort on their part to work through it or give customer service. Down the street the much more affordable and neighbourly Touch Hardware sorted us out and even though we had to pay twice it turned out to be overall half what Beardmore was charging for matching quality.

Super disappointed in the experience and their total indifference to a neighbourhood customer. They’ve kept our money, our items (which they’ve probably sold on) and been completely unwilling to engage constructively. The only resolution they proposed involved us paying twice for everything.

Our own legal work has clarified the purchased items are our property, and the payee was acting only as agent. Beardmore has simply taken our money and our goods - no effort involving taking anything on in this matter from their side has been made.

Shop somewhere else; you’re paying for a brand and image that doesn’t exist.
