My contact @ Biffa (Nathan Tamburrini) has been the upmost professional and has assisted me through getting quotes, tweaking them to our requirements.

Zoe really helped with the issue of late collections, and more recently with having the bin removed.

After my mother died I needed to dispose of some paint tins, garden chemicals and an old chemistry set of my father’s. I was told the cost would be £650 for a chemist’s visit, and three sizes of container drums where mentioned. I was pretty horrified and checked with the council who claimed that their charge was £53 and their subcontractor was Biffa. Biffa claimed they had never heard of this service. Sadly I wasn’t able to get any further with the council (really not sure what was going on here at all). Feeling slightly boxed in, I decided to go ahead with the Biffa disposal. The chemist arrived but Biffa had not passed on all the documentation I had sent (that they asked for) so the chemist was not able to take everything. He returned some weeks later after several emails with Biffa clearly not having a clue what was going on. Then I get then final bill, for £2200, which is made up by charging me for the weight, 78kg. I only asked them to remove about 10kg so I can only assume that, having charged me for the barrels they then also charged me for their weight. Thievery. And the weight of the packing material. Their ”quote” was so obscure as to be useless. Their service so bad as to be almost nonexistent. When I complained I got single sentence explanations. The final invoice said that they were charging over £1000 per kg when what they meant was in total. It was all careless, thoughtless, misleading and ruthlessly overpriced. I would never ever have used them if there had been a hint of the total cost mentioned up front. Anybody else using these pirates need their heads examining.
Well, I responded to Biffa as they requested and have heard nothing since. More of the same useless service.

Absolutely outrageous sold my business. Informed Biffa was told need to pay over £650.00 to cancel contract. Paid outstanding invoice. Just received another invoice saying need to pay £106.00 for services up to 31/1/26 account was closed on 7/1/26 . The stress Biffa have caused be upon selling me business is unbelievable. Do not sign up to Biffa

I had 'phoned up on a few occasions to cancel the contract as we had relocated, was quite frustrated by the wait each time, sent emails for which there was no reply so felt that Biffa's customer service wasn't very good. Finally managed to speak to Lisa D-T (Central Retention Team). She is a credit to Biffa. Listens and shows understanding whilst maintaining a professional stance.

I've been dealing with Georgia Bradley, who has been great throughout this process. Things always take forever with local government and she has been patient and professional at all times to get us to the point of starting our service. If this is how our experience with BIFFA continues, I will be very happy

Absolutely disgraceful service – avoid at all costs.
This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company.
In November, I contacted them to cancel my fortnightly bin collection because I no longer needed it. Instead of cancelling, they persuaded me to stay and told me my account had already been switched to monthly collections. I was clearly told the change had been made. I was never told I needed to sign a new contract.
Despite that, I continued to be billed the same amount as before.
Since November, I have spent over five hours on the phone chasing this. It is now February and nothing has been resolved. I have been passed around, given repeated promises of callbacks that never happen, and completely ignored.
Rachel recently promised she would help arrange refunds for the overpayments. The next day, she changed the story and claimed a contract had been sent to me and because I didn’t sign it, the change was never actioned. I never received any contract. If a signature was required, why was I told in November that the change had already been processed? Why did no one contact me for months to say there was an issue while I was actively chasing this?
Now she refuses to take my calls, and the company is refusing to refund the overpayments.
It gets worse. During one collection, my bin was taken away because it got stuck in the back of their van. They kept it for two months and continued charging me for collections that could not possibly have happened because I didn’t even have a bin. When they eventually returned it, they charged me for bringing it back — even though it was entirely their fault.
There was also no collection between 20th December and 12th January, yet I was still billed. Charging for services that are not provided seems to be standard practice.
I have now cancelled my direct debit and will be taking this up with my bank. The audacity of accusing me of “breaking a contract” while they have been overcharging me for months is unbelievable.
Zero accountability. Zero communication. Zero integrity.
If you value your money and your time, stay well away from this company.

Shocking service. Impossible to contact by phone in order to terminate a service for an old branch. I have been trying to do this for 12 months - and now they are charging termination fees.
So I will cancel all other sites as a result.
