THEY NEVER REFUNDED ME
THEY NEVER REFUNDED ME. I received a damaged chest of drawer (with a snapped leg in the box) and I returned it. They never responded to emails or calls and I never received my money back! Over £200. This business is a scam!!!
Appalling company
Appalling company. Faulty goods received, which I was asked to post back to them at my expense. Having done this in September no replacement has been sent, emails are ignored and their contact number is just a mobile answerphone (no reply from that either). Absolute crooks.
Non existent customer care
Item (beauty bag) received faulty. The zip has rusted shut, meaning the zip is completely unusable. After 3 emails and countless attempts at calling, NO RESPONSE.
AVOID!
Don't buy this stool
Bought this stool, unfortunately it collapsed after 2 months when I was briefly sitting on it and hurt my tailbone. I can only advise against buying this item. It's apparently made from the cheapest materials. There was no response from the seller to my complaint. Very bad customer service.
Is this part of Ian Snow?
Avoid avoid avoid
Avoid avoid avoid this company. The mirror I ordered arrived broken and apart from that looked completely different to the picture. They have not responded to multiple emails and it has now been nearly a month so feel like I have been scammed. Absolutely atrocious company to deal with.

Unimpressed
Really disappointed with this company and the postal service (Yodel).
The delivery date was later than stated on the website, and my first emails and phone call went unanswered.
The vintage mirror, a gift for my sister, needed a good clean. I'm surprised it wasn't broken as,
despite FRAGILE being written on the parcel, it was left by our gate on the driveway.
Unimpressed.

Still not had a refund
The order I made could not be met as they had run out of stock. I replied instantly that I would like a refund and I am still waiting a month later for the money. I will not be using them again.

Do not buy from this company - shoddy goods, appalling service and failure to comply with basic consumer rights law.
Do not buy from this company. A chair, for which I had paid nearly £1,000 arrived with a leg shorn off. After a lot of back and forth, pick up was arranged and the goods were sent back and refunded in part. However, in breach of the seller's obligations under section 20 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the refund was made less the delivery charge of £109. I have asked repeatedly for the full refund to be made and have been ignored. When looking online for other reviews of this company, I note that at least one of the 5 star reviews on TrustPilot seems to have been made, shamelessly and using his own name, by the sole director of Birch & Yarn. I would not buy from this company - the website looks deceptively high end and it is quite the opposite. It is a shoddy operation, selling poor quality goods with next to non-existent customer service. Read all of the other reviews before shopping and be warned/steer clear!
UPDATED following receipt of reply. It is correct that the other three items I had ordered were sent back with the chair - this is because they were bought to match the chair and, without the main item, they were of no use to me. The initial delivery charge of £109 clearly related to the chair which came poorly packaged on a pallet with cellophane all around it. This is why it was not possible to return it 'in the original packaging'. If the company now says that the quality of their goods is not the same as the quality from a 'high end' shop then it is unacceptable to charge 'high end shop' prices. I have reported the company to Trust Pilot for the very obvious fake review and, against this back drop, would be deeply suspicious about whether other recent 5 star reviews are in fact genuine. I have now initiated the process to bring a small claim as a matter of principle due to the company's refusal to comply with consumer protection legislation.

My Mum left the review below re. a mirror frame that arrived damaged. When the mirror arrived damaged, I immediately contacted B&Y to notify them and request a return. I was offered a partial refund if I repaired the item, however it was damaged beyond a minor repair; or a full refund if I returned the item myself at considerable cost. I requested that B&Y arrange the return of the mirror & issue a refund in line with consumer rights legislation multiple times before issuing proceedings through small claims court. After the letter before court was undelivered (post office said delivery was refused), I notified B&Y via email with the letter attached in November. B&Y said their policy is that "customers pay for the refund". I attempted to contact the company multiple times, phone calls were never answered and WhatsApp messages were not replied to, initially I was told this was because the owner was visiting family in India - but I have never received a reply. B&Y did not reply to the claim form and a default judgement issued on 6 February ordered the company to pay me the cost of the mirror + court expenses. I have received no communication or payment from B&Y since.
In response to B&Y's suggestion that they are within their right to refuse to pay for returns. According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the responsibility is on the retailer to rectify the situation, if goods are delivered damaged. This is regardless of whether it was the courier or delivery driver who caused the damage. Under the Consumer Rights Act and its predecessor the Sale of Goods Act, the seller must pay for returning goods that are faulty or damaged.
Anyone else experiencing similar issues with B&Y may wish to read this article on Consumer Rights by Which - "How to complain if you receive damaged goods in the post".

Company fails to comply with Small Claims Court judgement
I bought a framed mirror for my daughter as a special gift. The frame arrived cracked and damaged with pieces of the decoration missing and others loose in the box. This was reported to Birch & Yarn immediately who offered a discount but would not pay for return carriage & reimbursement despite consumer rights legislation. My daughter attempted to contact the company on numerous occasions but was told the owner was in India, later there was no response to her contacts at all. After advice from Trading Standards she applied to the Small Claims Court where she was awarded her claim, but the mirror still has not been collected, nor has my money been reimbursed in February 2023, 4 months later. I believe this mirror was knowingly sent out damaged to get rid of it and this company has no intention of complying with UK consumer rights legislation.

SHAM OF A "BUSINESS"
Zero love, zero care, zero concern - this is a complete sham of a "business" - my reindeer arrived damaged and when I emailed and called, I got ZERO response. There is ZERO customer service - only the owner who couldn't give a toss. He never picks up the phone, answers messages or responds to emails. What's written about customer service on the website is a lie. I urge everyone to read the reviews before purchasing anything as Google and TrustPilot are full of the same reviews regarding items arriving faulty, damaged or not as described. AVOID!!!
PS. You should be able to upload pics alongside your review. In which case I'd be able to show the damage. Furthermore, if someone from "customer services" responds to this review saying they tried to contact me, don't believe it for a second.

Paid £6 delivery (very high!) for some paper mache baubles a week ago. Upon asking when this would be delivered, I have got no response to my emails or outreach on Instagram. No one picks up phone. I realise a week isn’t long to wait but I’ve never experienced a company that has such shoddy customer service! I had contacted them originally as the 10% welcome code never came through and no one has answered that email either. I wouldn’t buy from this company again.
