Great Glasses, Communication Could Be Much Better

I ordered glasses on December 7, 2025. The order remained in “awaiting assembly” status until I contacted customer support myself on December 23, 2025. They informed me that the frame I selected required a special manufacturing process because my pupillary distance (PD) was smaller than the minimum supported for that frame. Because of this, I had to either change the frame or pay an extra $10 USD (€9) to have the lenses made for the originally selected frame.

What I found strange is that they never contacted me about this issue and waited until I reached out to them. After I raised this concern, they also stopped replying to my emails, or at least the responses became very slow. I had to send three emails and contact them via chat before receiving a reply.

I spoke with two agents who promised they would look into the matter, but nothing seemed to happen afterward.

Eventually, I contacted Rina, who helped resolve the issue.

However, what I did not like is that I had to initiate contact with support myself. If I hadn’t reached out, it seems like nothing would have happened.

I finally received the glasses on February 2, 2026, which was more than a month later than expected, mainly due to the issues mentioned above. I am satisfied with the quality of the glasses, but I am not happy with the communication and order handling, which I believe is an area that needs improvement.

That said, I am willing to give them another chance.

Honestly wish I could leave a no star…

Honestly wish I could leave a no star review. This company is a waste of time and money. It has been 3 weeks and counting with still no glasses. It took them 1 weeks to finally get the prescription because they could not read and kept asking me questions and then charging me more. I do not recommend this company at all. Wish I had never tried it. Best to just get local and works out so much better. These people just take your money. What a waste of 70.00.
Update*** Finally received the glasses and it took a month. The glasses are not right. I refuse to even deal with the rudeness or the process of this company again. Like I said before a waste of money. Trying to save money and ended up losing money. What a waste.

- You placed your order on the 9th of February
- We reached out to you on the 10th of February informing you that your pupillary distances do not fall within the minimum pupillary distance values for the frame that you have chosen
- After your reply on the 10th that you would like to pay for the special production (correct centering of the glasses) we have send you a payment link the same day.
- We received the proof of payment on the 11th and have confirmed the receipt of this to you the same day and your order was placed in production.

You mention that we waste time and that it took us 1 week to finally get the prescription because we could not "read"? We both know that this is incorrect as you can see above.

The special production process is clearly explained on our website during the ordering process, so it is not correct that you mention that we "charge you more" for no reason as the information is readily available.

Your order is currently in production and will be shipped out to you soon so your "waste of money" remark does not make any sense either.

Our customer service team is available for you should you wish to receive more information. Kind regards.

Terrible customer service ignores obvious manufacturing defect.
​Update ! 18 -03- 2026 Problem solved! Great personal follow-up from the Service Manager Ronny.

I received a pair of glasses where the left lens is not properly seated in the frame's groove. The lens is protruding, and the titanium frame arrived warped and distorted as a result. The right lens is fitted correctly, which clearly proves this is a major assembly error on the left side.
​Despite providing clear photos of this defect, customer service (Manohe) refuses to take any responsibility and repeats the same script. They are hiding behind technical excuses regarding prescription values, while this is a physical product defect that should never have passed quality control.
​Warning: this company delivers defective products and refuses to fix their own assembly errors. Very unreliable.

Ik heb een bril ontvangen waarbij het linkerglas niet in de groef van het montuur zit. Het glas steekt uit en het titanium frame is hierdoor verbogen en ontzet geleverd. Het rechterglas zit wel correct, wat overduidelijk bewijst dat het om een grove montagefout gaat aan de linkerzijde.
​Ondanks heldere foto’s van dit defect, weigert de klantenservice (Manohe) elke verantwoordelijkheid en inmiddels reageren ze helemaal niet meer op mijn e-mails. Ze verschuilen zich achter technische excuses over de sterkte van de glazen, terwijl het een fysiek defect product betreft dat nooit door de kwaliteitscontrole had mogen komen.
​Pas op: dit bedrijf levert defecte producten en negeert klanten zodra er om een oplossing wordt gevraagd. Een zeer onbetrouwbare partij

.Blacksheep's response is misleading. While I openly admitted to a typo in the values, they fail to explain the obvious physical asymmetry of the product. The right lens (which has the HIGHEST power according to their calculation) is fitted perfectly inside the frame. The left lens (which has a LOWER power) is the one popping out of the groove and warping the frame. This is not a "thickness issue" due to the prescription; it is a clear assembly error on one side only. A professional optician should never ship a physically distorted frame, regardless of the lens thickness. Their refusal to fix a structural assembly defect is unprofessional.

De reactie van Blacksheep is misleidend. Hoewel ik eerlijk heb aangegeven dat er een typefout in de waarden zat, geven ze geen verklaring voor de duidelijke fysieke asymmetrie van het product. Het rechter glas (dat volgens hun berekening de HOOGSTE sterkte heeft) zit perfect in het montuur. Het linker glas (met een LAGERE sterkte) is juist het glas dat naast de groef zit en het frame ontzet. Dit is geen "dikte-probleem" door de sterkte, maar een overduidelijke montage fout aan slechts één zijde. Een professionele opticien hoort nooit een fysiek verbogen montuur te verzenden, ongeacht de dikte van de glazen. Het weigeren om een structurele montage fout te herstellen is onacceptabel.

​UPDATE: Blacksheep (Manager Ronny) has reached out with a settlement offer to resolve this issue. We have agreed on a solution where a new pair of glasses will be produced with the correct prescription. I have accepted this proposal and fulfilled the agreed payment. Once the new glasses have arrived and the quality is confirmed, I will adjust this review.

​UPDATE: Blacksheep (Manager Ronny) heeft contact opgenomen met een voorstel om dit probleem op te lossen. We zijn overeengekomen dat er een nieuwe bril wordt geproduceerd met de juiste sterktes. Er is een nieuwe bril geproduceerd met de juiste sterktes en een extra kwaliteitscontrole. Deze is inmiddels in perfecte staat ontvangen. De glazen zitten nu uitstekend in het montuur. Dank aan de manager voor de professionele oplossing.

UPDATE (March 18, 2026): Following my initial complaint, the Customer Service Manager (Ronny) personally reached out to resolve the issue. A new pair of glasses was produced with the correct prescription and underwent an additional quality check. I have now received the new glasses in perfect condition. The lenses are fitted correctly into the frame. Many thanks to the manager for this professional solution.

We hebben je dossier even verder bekeken en inderdaad, de glazen zelf zijn enorm dik voor dit montuur. De reden echter waarom de glazen zo dik zijn is omdat je op de bestelling een sfeer waarde had ingegeven van +6.25 en +6.00 en daarop een ADD waarde van +3.50 voor ieder oog terwijl je brilrecept, dat we pas nadat je de glazen had ontvangen van je hebben ontvangen, een sfeer waarde nodig was van +3.75 en +3.50 respectievelijk en een ADD waarde van +2.50 op ieder oog. Je had ook aangegeven in je communicatie met ons dat je dit verkeerd had ingevuld en je bent vergeten dit hier even te melden. Het resultaat is dan ook dat je glazen veel dikker zijn met het fout brilrecept dat je had ingegeven (+9.75 in de kering) tegenover de waarden die je had moeten hebben (+6.25 in totaal). Het is dan ook makkelijk om een "technisch" defect of fabricagefout in te roepen op glazen die veel dikker zijn met de foute waarden dan met de correcte waarden. In combinatie met het montuur, dat een nogal fijne rand heeft, lijkt het er dan inderdaad op dat de glazen niet goed zijn geassembleerd, maar dit was dus wel het geval. Dit was ook aan je uitgelegd door onze klantendienst maar aangezien je er van uitgaat dat je zomaar een nieuwe bril zou moeten krijgen, voor een fout die door jouw bij het invullen van de bestelling is gebeurd, dan begrijpen we uiteraard dat je de klantenservice schandalig is. We've reviewed your file and indeed, the glasses themselves are very thick for this frame. However, the reason they're so thick is because you entered a sphere value of +6.25 and +6.00 on your order, followed by an ADD value of +3.50 for each eye. Your correct prescription, which we received from you after you received the glasses, required sphere values ​​of +3.75 and +3.50, respectively, and an ADD value of +2.50 for each eye. You also indicated in your communication with us that you entered this incorrectly, which you forgot to mention here. The result is that your lenses are much thicker with the incorrect prescription you entered (+9.75 in the sizing) compared to the values ​​you should have (+6.25 in total). Fantastic staff at the Paris France store but the glasses did not meet my prescriptions

The staff at the store in Paris France was indeed exceptional. However the lenses that I received were not at all to my eyes. After numerous exchanges with black sheep thanks to the staff at the store I was offered a 20% discount on a replacement pair of glasses. I am putting five stars with the anticipation that the new glasses will be suited to my eyes, which I had checked in another optician; however if these glasses are too long in the shipping or, much worse if they do not meet my eyes corrections then I will drop my rating significantly.
I must admit all the same that the staff threw email has been very responsive.

Let's make clear i haven't got my…

Let's make clear i haven't got my glasses yet...but before hand I did alot of reading on progressive lenses and they are complicated...I ordered the high index (thin) lenses and PREMIUM Progressive lenses because it sounds like they have improved on progressives and people have less problems adjusting...I expect the adjustment period and plan on doing everything I can to make this a success. I did not have a pupillary distance reading from.my eye doctor and tried PD apps and cut out the BS ruler form...that was weird...anyway none were right or consistent... so I taped the ruler to my face an took 6 photos and sent them. We will see...also I made a duplicate order in error and was refunded the very next.day!! They said at lea 7 days. Wow...very nice, patient staff...will follow up after receiving glasses...

Do not order lenses for progressive vision

This company is not able to make progressive vision, i ordered two glasses with progressive vision lenses, I see nothing since the measures taken were not accurate. Customer service proposed to pay if I want to correct the lenses, is this normal ? never come back and will sue this company.

Blacksheep low price, inferior quality

Blacksheep Eyewear has very low prices, but their progressive lens intermediate vision area is unusable. I would not recommend Blacksheep. Once one provides the information requested and is provided by the customer, they will request more information. Once provided to them, more criteria will be added to their request. It goes on and on. This is very poor business practice. Blacksheep is not worth ones patronage.

Blacksheep optical inferior lenses

I ordered Blacksheep premium progressive lenses for the frames I selected. Upon receiving them, I observed the distance and close vision is very good. However, the intermediate vision is terrible making the glasses unusable. I requested a refund as per Blacksheep's stated guidelines. As requested, photos of the glasses with all manufacturer markings as well as the lenses were provided. The next day, Blacksheep requested a video of the lenses showing where the problem was. I provided 3 different videos showing the problem, including the original prescription from my optometrist. The following day, Blacksheep requested a photo of me wearing the glasses, plus another photo of the original prescription. With each request from Blacksheep, they keep changing the criteria for a refund. Do not purchase from Blacksheep Eyewear as their lenses are inferior.

Expérience tres décevante

Expérience décevante : Service client inexistant et qualité médiocre
​"Je déconseille fortement ce site. Commande passée le 12 décembre, reçue seulement le 26 janvier (soit 6 semaines d'attente).
​Le service client m'a contacté le 15 décembre pour une précision sur ma correction. J'ai répondu le jour même en joignant mon ordonnance et en demandant une modification de monture et de taille (disponible sur le site). Résultat : aucune réponse et ma demande a été totalement ignorée à la livraison.
​Côté produit, la monture est très fragile ("légère") et les verres progressifs sont de mauvaise qualité : le champ de vision est extrêmement étroit, bien moins performant que des verres premier prix achetés ailleurs. Si vous avez un magasin physique à proximité, n'hésitez pas, fuyez la vente en ligne chez ce marchand."
J’ai fait une Réclamation en ligne. J’attends leur réponse.
Si j'en reçois une, je rajouterai la suite qui lui aura été donnée.
Le 02 février 2026, blacksheep n’a toujours pas répondu à ma réclamation.

Après avoir pris connaissance de la réponse de Blacksheep, et dans un souci d'honnêteté, j’ai consulté ma boîte mail, la corbeille et les indésirables. Il n’y a pas de réponse en date du 22/12/25 comme vous le pretendez. Les seuls échanges que nous avons eus sont ceux du 15 décembre, mail auquel j’ai répondu comme expliqué ci dessus dans cet avis. J'ai relancé Blacksheep, courant jan ier, car je ne voyais rien venir. Je persiste à dire qu’à aucun moment je n’ai eu de réponse à mes demandes et sollicitations, raisons pour lesquelles je dis que le SAV est inexistant.
Dans l’attente d’une réponse de votre part à ma réclamation que je vous ai adressée le 26 janvier.
Toujours dans ce même souci de clarté, je modifierais cet avis en conséquence.

Deception: Deceptional experience: Non-existent customer service and poor quality
"I strongly advise against this site. Order placed on 12 December, received only on 26 January (6 weeks waiting).
Customer service contacted me on December 15 for details of my correction. I responded the same day by attaching my prescription and requesting a change in frame and size (available on the website). Result: no response and my request was completely ignored upon delivery.
On the product side, the frame is very fragile ("light") and the progressive lenses are of poor quality: the field of view is extremely narrow, much less efficient than first-price lenses purchased elsewhere. If you have a physical store nearby, don't hesitate, avoid selling online at this merchant."
I made a complaint online. I'm waiting for their response.
If I get one, I'll add the rest that's been given to it.
After reviewing Blacksheep's response, and in the interest of transparency, I checked my inbox, trash, and spam folder. There is no reply dated December 22, 2025, as you claim. The only correspondence we had was on December 15th, an email to which I replied as explained above in this review. I contacted Blacksheep again in January because I hadn't received any response. I maintain that I have never received any answers to my requests and inquiries, which is why I say their customer service is nonexistent.
I await your response to the complaint I sent you on January 26th.
On February 2, 2026, Blacksheep still hasn't responded to my complaint

To ensure clarity, I will update this review accordingly.
