Black Tie Moving Services Reviews 

The moving job was left incomplete, forcing us to transport a large number of items ourselves. The movers packed the truck inefficiently, ran out of space, and left behind major items—including two large TVs, glass tables, and large pictures/mirrors. We had to rent an additional truck the next day and rely on friends to move four carloads of remaining belongings.

At the new home, the movers struggled to bring furniture inside. We had to remove and reinstall couch legs ourselves. Dressers were carried upside down, causing drawers to jam and shift out of place. Several items were only partially moved, such as a desk moved without its drawers and a recliner moved without its power cord.

Because the move was billed hourly, we felt the movers extended the time unnecessarily. A job that should have taken about four hours instead took six—and still wasn’t finished. In 2018, the same items were moved in four hours by two movers.

Although the workers put in physical effort, they lacked the experience needed to pack and transport items properly. Several belongings were damaged, including a bookcase broken in half and scratches on both nightstands.

Incredible team of fast, hard-working, careful movers! We were impressed by how fast they were able to move all of our belongings and the care they took to do it right.

There is damage to a lamp shade and lamp poll. That needs to be deal with, They need to return to reassemble our king size bed that contains storage drawers.

The crew was courteous. They loaded everything in their trucks then unloaded them in my new home. All of my items arrived in one piece.

The team worked efficiently on an extremely hot 2 days and took extra care in preparing our furniture for the move. The team lead Emmanuel really set the pace and provided great direction.

First off, it was an extremely hot day when we moved and the guys were very polite. Having said that, we were very disappointed that some of our belongings were broken. This includes a few glasses, a two section desk where the top section completely broke off the bottom and a tote was completely cracked and broken. What mainly troubles us is that none of these things were reported to us, they were just placed and walked away from and left for us to discover.

Our crew of Myles, Hip, Josh and Anthony were outstanding! They were great to work with, great personalities and actually cared about our items and how they were handled! This is the 3rd move for my wife and I and this was a big 5 state move. We chose Black Tie Moving due to the fact that it was the same crew that loaded our trucks, traveled and unloaded. It was a total of 3 days, 1 to pack 2 - 26' trucks, 1 to travel and 1 to unload. We took bids from other companies but were never guaranteed an exact date to receive our trucks. This timing and the great response time from Chris and the team were some of the leading factors in our decision to use Black Tie!

From the first call to the moment our moving completed our move everything was excellent. I will be moving again in a few months to our new build and I will most definitely use Black Tie again.

The movers seemed to take care with my belongings, wrapping them carefully for the move. They arrived early in the morning, so I didn't have to wait for their arrival. The did an initial walk-through, to understand what needed to be packed and moved.
After the move to the new home, they didn't inform me that the upstairs items had NOT been unwrapped with the plastic shrink-wrap. I expected that to be done by the movers, but now I have to do it myself.

This experience was beyond horrible. I will NEVER use Black Tie Moving Services again! I will tell everyone I know to never use this company.

Edward and D'Andre were amazing. They were professional and worked efficiently while keeping a very positive demeanor the entire time. They are both a very positive representation to your company.

The team that served my move were all professional, polite, and proficient. And they had a great team lead. So I was very disappointed when I discovered that they left me with a nonworking laundry room. The team lead asked my son to go purchase a plug-in for the dryer, which he did, but we discovered that the cord he told my son to get was not long enough so it was not plugged in. No one informed me about this issue. The washing machine was not leveled and is still not leveled due to a problem with one of the legs. I am 83 years old so to fix this so I am going to have to hire somebody to come out. I would think your moving company would make sure this was done correctly and that you would send someone.
Also while I recognize that I was moving from a much larger home into a smaller location many of the labeled boxes were not put in the rooms where they belong. This has been very difficult for me to hire help to move them to their proper locations as they are too heavy for me to handle.
And the workbench in the garage was put on top of something and I still haven’t been able to get that situation rectified as again, I will have to hire someone that can help lift it and remove whatever is underneath it.
Several items have deep scratches, all of which appear they can be repaired so far, but all of these things made the move very stressful and have caused me extra time, effort and money which is disappointing.

Just average - definitely not “black tie” service. Disappointing amount of damage to furniture that they packed and lost/broken items that they packed. Would not use again for the price.
