The quality of black out blinds Excellent.
The quality of these blinds was perfection, they are so simple to install, the blinds I purchased was bloc out plus. I had one problem with the blinds they wouldn't stay where I positioned them on the window they just kept rising up to the top? I gave them a call, and a man called Jack told me to rub the back with some emery cloth and I was sceptical at first as the back had already had paint removed from the area, he was suggesting that it already have been done and it did not look that me that the brakes were even touching but I did as he asked and it worked. Would it no not be as easy to include with the fitting instruction this tip?

We’re also glad Jack was able to help resolve the issue for you. Just to reassure you, the side rails are prepared during manufacturing and typically do not require any buffing or sanding by the customer. In rare cases, a small amount of the powder coating can remain, and a light rub with emery cloth can sort this, exactly as you have experienced.

Painful to fit
Please note that when you make your measurements Blocout do not take into consideration how much space their mechanisms you have to fit take up. The top bar you stick removes the amount of length you have to fit the side bars and the tracks. So if you measure 110cm length for instance you do well to actually say it’s 107cm for instance. We now need to hire someone to trim the metal side tracks as they were measured for the window length but the size of the cassette and top bar wipes out at least 20cm. Ridiculous.

We’re sorry to hear you’ve experienced difficulties with your installation. However, as the blind was cut down and altered after delivery, we’re unfortunately unable to verify whether the product was manufactured to the original specifications provided at the time of order. Once a blind has been modified, it’s no longer possible for us to assess sizing accuracy or offer a replacement.
When manufacturing the blind, we take the measurements provided and make the necessary adjustments to allow the blind to fit within the opening.
We are sorry we did not get an opportunity to resolve this before the blind was adjusted.
I purchased a large BlocOut blind and…
I purchased a large BlocOut blind and it is amazing!! Really well made. I went for the bells and whistles, motorised, with the internet bridge for Siri commands. And it all works really well! There are 2 problems that I think are design faults, and that is on the right hand side of the blind cartridge there is a battery charging plug in point, and this affects how deep inside the right hand rail the blind runs, causing an amount of light to bleed through. Also the side rails are so long that light rushed through behind the rails, and I had to drill through the side rails 800mm down from the top to add an extra fixing point. This fix worked perfectly. Other than these two criticisms, it is well made and easy to assemble, delivery was fast as well. Well done BlocOut!!

Over one month for delivery of a stock…
Over one month for delivery of a stock item. Two phone calls and promises of quick despatch and still had to chase again. Not a service level i would expect from all the promises given on website.

Still lets light in at edges and bottom...
We measured and fitted as per Blocout's instructions but light comes in around the edges and the bottom. It will not pull down any further, or screw in any closer.
They have now sent out a different seal for the bottom so that should hopefully help.

After checking the images you sent, the light leakage appears to be caused by slight unevenness in the window openings, which can affect the fit. We’ve provided guidance on adjustments that can help minimise this and have arranged to send additional components to improve the seal.
Stops the daylight from waking you up too early!
It makes such a difference not to be woken up by daylight! My blinds are set to open together with my alarm and I sleep like a baby until it opens!

Will never purchase another type of blind…
In the last 4 months we’ve gone from no BlocOut blinds to three, one in each bedroom.
They are everything they advertise and more! Whilst we’ve had to silicone around the edges of the blind frame on each of our windows to ensure 100% light blocking, this is no fault of the product - we have an old house with wonky walls.
The product is definitely more expensive than a regular blind however they are superior in every way!
We paid for the measurements guarantee and for two products didn’t need it, the third and largest blind we did and I cannot fault the process. Just a quick email; new measurements sent; DPD collection and new blind received.
All in all - highly recommend! Cannot fault customer service; product is easy to fit and most importantly works perfectly and does what it says without question.
