Stuck with Bluegreen
Don't waste your time or money with Bluegreen Vacations. My family has been trying to cancel our timeshare for almost two years, but they just give us the runaround between their corporate office and their collections agency, Pinnacle Recovery.
Their own policy says they’ll cancel your membership after 120 days of non-payment, but we haven't paid a dime since March 2024 and they still won't let us go. Instead, they keep sending us bills for a service we can't even use. Bluegreen says they can't help because the account is in collections, and the collections agency says they can't help because Bluegreen has the account. It’s a total mess and they completely ignore our letters for months at a time. Save yourself the headache and stay far away from this company.
Here's what to expect from BG
If you buy Bluegreen, here is exactly what you can expect. You can expect to be lure you into a sales room by offering gifts, only to be trapped in a three hour sales presentation where they constantly rotate salespeople to wear you down. You can expect to be completely misled about the true costs, finding out later about hidden charges and watching your maintenance fees skyrocket year by year. You can also expect subpar properties that do not match the quality you were promised. On top of all that, you can expect them to look you in the eye and say it is a great investment your kids can take over without maintenance fees, which is a total lie. Save yourself the headache and walk away from Bluegreen Vacations.
Total misrepresentation from the word…
Total misrepresentation from the word go. Not one thing they promised is available.
I spent 20K of my pension money with Bluegreen to enjoy one week vacation per annum. I have waisted approximately 40 hours trying to plan a trip. No help available, rude phone operators. Cannot cancel and stuck in $1,400.00 per year maintenance fees for the rest of my life. Legal scammers.
Don’t fall for the manipulation and deceit
We went to a Bluegreen sales presentation and ended up trapped there for hours until we were completely exhausted and overwhelmed. Their sales staff are very pushy, they’ll manipulate you and tell you whatever it takes to get a signature. They directly lied to us by claiming their timeshare was a great investment and that the maintenance fees would never increase.
Once we signed the contract, we quickly realized the vacation options are incredibly limited and the fees are extremely high. When we tried to cancel right away, their customer service was completely dismissive. Instead of helping us exit the contract, they refused to let us out and actually tried to pressure us into upgrading. Now they just constantly call to demand payments and refuse to offer any real solutions. Do not fall for their deceptive sales pitches or “exclusive offers!”
Bluegreen failed to deliver the vision they sold us.
Bluegreen got us into a sales meeting while we were on a family trip, little did we know they were going to keep us there for over five hours. The reps were very aggressive to get us to purchase. They even told us we could cancel everything within six months. This turned out to be a horrible lie, as we’ve found there’s only 10 days to cancel. Since purchasing, we haven't been able to take a single vacation. I have checked for availability multiple times across the East Coast and there is never anything available. When we reached out for help, customer service just passed us around in circles and refused to resolve the issue. Do not trust Bluegreen Vacations.
I Want To Sue Them!!
Let me start by saying I have & will be submitting a BBB complaint-as well as an ALL OUT SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN to tell EVERYONE about this S C A M !
We purchased in good faith a "resort" pkgwe were going to use in July of this yr-Due to family circumstances we needed to change the dates. In doing so we found out that we would be staying @ a hotel-not @ a resort as we were promised-for our money! We explained we were told by the sales person we were purchasing a stay @ a resort in the Smoky Mountains-not a stay @ a regular “hotel”, which we could just do ourselves. She offered-& get this an “upgrade” to what we originally were promised-for another fee! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We said we aren’t traveling til July, so just give us a refund & we’re done-BUT NOOOOOOO-we had only 30 days from when we were sold to get a refund. That the oh-so-reputable salesperson should have told us that timeframe. I asked if there was a timeframe in which the company could make right on THE LIES we were told by their representative?? I spoke to several Reps & they were useless. We then heard from a Sharon Brown-equally as useless & she said she would "review the tapes"-she wrote back & said after listening to them-we were never promised a resort & had to take what we got as NO REFUND would be issued. I KNOW WHAT I WAS TOLD! Bottom Line-as stated in the rest of the reviews-DO NOT DO BUSINESS W/THESE SCAMMERS! They have had MANY MANY LAWSUITS! Thanks Trustpilot!
We purchased a timeshare from Bluegreen…
We purchased a timeshare from Bluegreen in April 2026 after a sales presentation that promised an easy and affordable vacation experience. The reality was very different: limited availability, rising fees, and misleading information. Key details were withheld, benefits were exaggerated, and we were pressured into a quick decision. Hence why I tried to cancel immediately after I returned home. They would not allow it 3 days late of the rescission period. Customer service has provided scripted responses with no solutions. This purchase does not match what was promised, and we feel misled from the start.
I can't choose a rating below one. Sorry incase its misleading

Bluegreen Vacations = Lies! It is very misleading and a poor investment. The sales pitch
promised me easy booking and frequent vacations with 10,000 points, but this proved false.
Even after I bought 5,000 more points, reservations were rarely available where I wanted them.
When I was lucky enough to reserva a location, they always high-pressured us into a review
meeting where they tried to sell me more points. The company pushed me to buy significantly
more points (up to 35,000 more for over $141,000) to be able to book further out, but I doubt
this will solve the availability problem. Also, it’s crazy that I needed to book years in advance,
still with no guarantee of availability. There seemed to be a constant issue with not having
enough points, no matter how much more I bought. My maintenance fees have been increasing
(from $1,800 to $2,039), and I was paying for a property I could not use. It’s just so wild!
Bluegreen’s contract = lifetime contract! Beware of this! They literally tell their clients that this is
for life! After all the issues, I wanted to cancel my ownership. I wanted to stop paying for my
mortgage since it’s ridiculous to pay for something I was tricked to buy and do not want to keep,
but I do not want to hurt my credit score, so I’ve been continuing payment. Bluegreen will not let
me out. I have approached them multiple times but their answer is NO. This is beyond
frustrating! The only option they would let me out is if I pay off all my mortgage loan & additional
2 years worth of maintenance fees (over $4000). This is beyond frustrating! I have to pay that
much for returning the property back to them? Go figure! I have no means to come up with that
money. They don’t care. They just want my money, just like all the other times. I need to end
doing any business with them. What a curse!

Lies for dollars
This company will try to sell you with very high pressure and blatant lies. The availability is basically nonexistent, especially in the Northeast. When we complained about never being able to book anything during a meeting, they used it against us to get us to spend more money. Apparently they’re a part of Hilton now and said everything was going to be fixed. It was all a scam. On top of everything else, ownership becomes more expensive as time goes on. Their fees constantly go up. Save your time and money.
I would not recommend Bluegreen to…
I would not recommend Bluegreen to anyone! Once you are trapped in they make it harder than anything to get out. When you are signing up, they give you a long list of promises, but the moment they have your money, all help disappears. You are completely on your own. 10/10 not worth it.
Hilton degrades legacy Bluegreen owners
The resort looks mostly like a scene from the 1970s. The 1980s and early 1990s are definitely calling to get their "luxury" bathrooms back. It is trapped in a complete time warp.Worse than the outdated look is how Bluegreen owners are being treated since Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) bought out the company. Owners are being cornered into aggressive sales meetings and forced to financially buy into the HGV Max community. If you refuse to pay more money to upgrade, your club fees are raised, and you are restricted only to the original Bluegreen resorts. While HGV slowly updates properties, Bluegreen-only members are being pushed into shoddy, neglected rooms. Other owners I spoke with are experiencing the exact same tier-system disrespect. Why should any consumer put more money into a company that treats its members this way?To top it all off, we experienced a severe ant infestation. I notified the front office, and they promised to clean and spray the villa while we were away. They failed miserably. The ants came back with a ferocity. My adult daughter even found them crawling inside her clean underwear. This is disgusting, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional.
High Pressure/Low Delivery
I purchased my Bluegreen Timeshare with the hopes of providing a great travel experience for my family. However, it has been disappointing. The point system is incredibly restrictive, making it nearly impossible to book places that we actually want to go during the time that we can travel. Also, the maintenance fees continue to go up, without explanation.
The worst part is the relentless pressure from their sales team. Every time you travel, they pressure you to attend meetings where they make you feel like what you currently own is pointless unless you upgrade and spend more money. It has gotten to the point where we actively seek out resorts without sales offices to avoid their high-pressure meetings. I would think twice about this company.
AVOID OWNERSHIP!!!!!!
While the properties are wonderful it is very difficult to get out of owning this timeshare even during financial hardship. No compassion whatsoever. After owning for 11+ yrs my husband had to go into an Alzheimers home. I no longer can pay maintenance fees and we no longer can use it. They will take timeshare back if i pay 18 more months of maintenance fees!!!!! That's over $2000 plus dollars. Avoid this company at all costs for owning. And if you don't pay it they turn you into a collection agency.
Income threshold to qualify for promotion
I signed up for a Bluegreen Vacations promotional package that included a heavily discounted two-night stay in exchange for attending a timeshare presentation. After booking, I received text messages with instructions for the tour, including directions to use valet parking and check in at the presentation location.
On the day of the presentation, I was delayed by traffic and road construction and arrived approximately 20 minutes late. I communicated this ahead of time and was told that it would not be a problem. When I arrived, I checked in and waited for my assigned representative.
Instead of discussing the presentation, the conversation quickly became focused on my income. I provided the income from my most recent tax return, but that was not accepted. I was repeatedly asked about my current income. Because my current income was lower than the amount the representative said was required, I was informed that I did not qualify for the presentation and, therefore, would not receive the promotional vacation benefits that had been offered.
What was most frustrating was that this qualification process happened only after I had already signed up, traveled to the location, and followed all of the instructions provided. The promotional materials and qualification information I saw did not make it clear that my eligibility for the presentation and associated gifts would ultimately depend on a higher current income threshold than I believed was required.
I do not have an issue with the sales staff themselves, who are simply following company policies. My concern is with the way the promotion was presented and administered. If Bluegreen Vacations intends to market these offers only to people above a certain income level, that requirement should be communicated clearly and prominently before customers commit their time and travel to attend.
The experience felt like a waste of time and left me disappointed with the company's transparency. Fortunately, I learned this before spending any additional money with the company.
I got into a Bluegreen meeting because…
I got into a Bluegreen meeting because I was genuinely interested in how timeshares worked, but the whole pitch ended up being incredibly high-pressure and manipulative. The sales reps were charming, fast-talking, and made a lot of false promises about how easy it would be to book vacations or rent out our points. I felt rushed into signing what turned out to be two separate contracts that were never properly explained to me. This has been a nightmare. There is barely any availability and the price of fees just keeps going up. This company will completely trap and mislead you.
Advertising very misleading
Advertising very misleading. Have up to a year to book package but buried within a 30 day cancelation period. After attempted booking beyond 30 days cancel, find company unable to deliver as customer expects.
Shore crest 1 at north myrtle beach
Shore crest 1 at north myrtle beach, room 1805, 5/23/26 to 5/28/26. Was guests with the owner, slept in guest room, the bed was horrible, what little sleep I did get left me feeling like I had slept on a bed of uneven rocks. The A/C system is next to this room and sounded like a 747 net every time it ran, and this was after it was "fixed" twice while we were there. I used earplugs in order to get what little sleep I did. Note: It was being replaced with a new one when we left. The clothes dryer takes about 2 hrs to dry even a minimal load. The icemaker in fridge is very slow, it might fill up the bucket in a week, maybe. The stove top cooks very slow. The sliding door to the balcony is very hard to slide open, you could possibly strain a muscle trying to open and close it. The owners also had issue's in the master bath, a door was falling off the jamb as the door hinge screws were striped out, maintenance did repair this while we were there. Went to lazy river at building 2 and it had a lot of trash in it, even a large band aid floating around, needless to say, we didn't stay in too long. As for me personally and based on my experience, I wound suggest you check your room out thoroughly upon arrival and before you unpack and settle in. Also, this room is directly in front of the elevators so expect a lot of noise and traffic. All issue's were reported and hopefully addressed so the next family will have a better experience. Good luck and enjoy the beach!
RUN AWAY!
Don't fall for BlueGreen's pitch! They promise that booking vacations will be easy. Total lie. We can’t get availability anywhere we want to go even booking a year out. We are now stuck paying massive bills for a timeshare we can’t even use! Run the other way if they come knocking on your door!
Timeshare nightmare
We’ve had Bluegreen for nearly 10 years. We got sucked into a sales pitch for some dining vouchers. We were heavily pressured and misled, with the sales reps promising it was a great investment and that we’d be able to vacation anywhere we wanted. That was completely inaccurate. Over the years, trying to actually book a vacation has been incredibly frustrating, and we've been denied weeks multiple times due to lack of availability. The maintenance fees only go up year over year, and the worst part is we are forced to pay them every single year even though our contract only lets us use the timeshare every other year. If you are thinking about buying with Bluegreen, save yourself the headache and your hard earned money
Beware of Incidental charges!!
Beware!!! We stayed in Orlando Fl. In February 12-15,2026. We arrived and I was asked for the taxes and an incidental deposit. I was okay with it, but the guy who was checking us in had no idea what he was doing. He charged my card. After our stay we left. The incidental deposit hold wasn't released. I called and they stated it was and it was my bank not releasing it. I spent over 5 hrs trying to correct this. My bank did a dispute to get the funds back. Now bluegreen vacations have disputed it. This is ridiculous. So beware they charge your card.
