Excellent experience
Excellent experience, started the week having only a few days of experience on a moped and left with my full motorcycle license. The instruction was excellent throughout and learning was conducted safely finding a good balance pushing yourself and building on what you have learnt. More expensive than other options.

Great venue at Exeter centre with in house roads for practice in roadcraft cornering slow and fast manouvering hill starts adverse cambers etc.In addition great location for rideouts including Dartmoor.
Excellent training
I would like to thank all the team at Corser BMW Motorcycle training. I couldn't have asked for a better start to my road riding adventure. It was a lot of fun, and made perfect sense. The bikes are great, the instructors are the best. The proof was passing my Mod 1, and Mod 2 with no faults. The greatest thing is riding solo now with confidence.
Brilliant experience
Fantastic bikes, friendly, helpful and extremely knowledgable trainers. Course progressed at appropriate pace, with a good balance between pushing, coaching and nurturing from the tutor. Lovely fleet of well looked after bikes and decent protective kit offered throughout training. Recommend to anyone, new or experienced who wants to improve their bike skills.
BMW Rider Training - Royston
I took the 7-day course to include CBT, MOD1 and MOD2 at the Royston branch. Having never ridden a bike before I thought it was worth paying the little extra to get the comprehensive training.
I think it was CBT Plus because we used BMW 310 not a 125. The first day was manoeuvrers and the second day was out on the road. From day three we were on 750GS.
After you can ride a bike at the basic level much of the focus shifts to safety and road awareness. It's not just about getting ready to pass your test, it's about being safe on the roads with this training after you pass.
Safe to say I passed a month ago and am now riding around on my new machine loving life.
If you have a limited budget, I would get a cheaper first bike and spend more on training and good protective clothing, you can always upgrade the bike later. The cost per hour is quite reasonable given how much time you spend riding over 7 days.
All the bikes you train on will be current year, so the latest BMW models.
I have no regrets.
Bryan’s BMW rider training STOKE
Outstanding bunch at Bryan’s BMW rider training. Did a week intensive course for DAS, having had a couple years experience on a 125 some 5/6 years previously and recently redoing my CBT. They tailored the course ever so slightly as I had previous experience and the other student was brand new which really helped build that initial confidence back up and make the most of the time. Every member of staff was kind and friendly which really helps put you at ease and all were extremely helpful.
I’ve had many different instructors over the years for various different things and these are THE best instructors I’ve EVER had. Could not recommend them enough. Well done John and Kev. I’m amazed you got me to a level where I could achieve a pass without a single fault. Everyone at Bryan’s BMW should be proud of what they’ve created there and what they’re a part of there. Thank you so much.
Rookie to Rider, Royston
Just completed the 7 day Rookie to Rider course at the Royston centre. My experience was superb, I cannot thank Ian and team enough and would strongly recommend to others.
For me, it was important to be trained to ride a bike, not to just get through a test. Being in my fifties, it was always going to be a case of old dog, new tricks!
Ian, Dennis and Bob taught all of the elements in a professional and patient manner, imparting a lot of knowledge and experience along the way. Although I now hear "look up, turn your head" in my sleep :-)
The facilities, bikes and equipment are first class. The ability to practice the MOD1 exercises at the actual test centre was a big benefit.
I'm collecting my new bike in a few days, I'm eager to get out on the road. Education is a life long journey, I will be back!
Go here!
Had the best time at BMW Royston. All the team were friendly, helpful, chilled and above all professional. Nothing was rushed and everything explained clearly. The bikes used were in excellent condition and sorted to fit the rider. The training pad for slow manoeuvres was amazing. Plenty of room to practice. Dave took me for the majority of my training and is hilarious! Denis and Ian (The Boss) were always about giving advice and encouragement. I passed on the second attempt on MOD 1 as nerves got the better of me. Smashed both MOD’s a few weeks later so couldn’t be happier.
By far the best way to get your motorcycle license.
Trust me this is not expensive!
bryans stoke bmw rider training
I have recently just completed the 7 days bmw rider training DAS course at Bryans stoke on Trent. What a fantastic experience i have had.
a massive shout out to john my instructor, what a gentleman you are.
john took me from a rookie and i mean a proper rookie to a rider who was able to achieve a pass in my mod 1 and 2 first time.
thanks john for your patience and passing on your wealth of knowledge and your hard work that you put in for me to gain my full licence. Cannot thankyou enough
thanks to kev,roz and Trish for all your support throughout my 7 day course.
Kev at Bryans you have a fantastic setup and most importantly a fantastic team.
i cannot recommend Bryans enough
once again thanks for the experience
What an amazing few days
What an amazing few days! I literally had the best time and learned with an amazing instructor in Carol. I started being quite nervous and by test day I was so confident I passed MOD 1 and 2 with 1 minor.
It was all down to the amazing Carol! I can’t recommend her or this course enough
Highly recommend
Stoke on Trent centre. I had John for my main trainer but also had Kev and Roz. The trainers were very experienced, patient, approachable and friendly. Took a 7 day intensive for direct access and passed. Got my full licence in 7 days. Amazing
7 day DSA Exeter
Fantastic week. Instructors are amazing. They are great at building up your confidence and incredibly patient. No way I could do their job!!
Its amazing the progress you make in a short space of time. Facilities are great and private road network is an invaluable tool. Lots of new bikes for people of all heights. Passed both Mod1 & Mod2 1st time and have now bought a new BMW motorbike. Would and have recommend to multiple people. Will likely return for some advanced training at some point.
BMW Rider Training at Exeter
I attended BMW Rider Training at Exeter for my mod 1 and 2.
My instructor was Simon, a retired Police Officer of 30 years, with even more riding history than that.
A qualified instructor of the standards set by the DVSA. I fail to see how a 1 star can be given for this venue.
Top facilities, new bikes and positive friendly staff provided an excellent service in my opinion.
If you want to buy a BMW motorcycle or related clothing, this is the place to go as you get discounts.
I’m now the proud owner of a GS750 and loving the independence.
Bravo to those at Exeter and their fantastic instruction methods and a road network to practice before going on road.
Exeter BMW riding school.
I went to Exeter BMW riding school.
Absolutely brilliant instructors, all very patient and more than happy to take their time to teach you. I’ve never even sat on a motorbike before. They taught me how to ride confidently. I did a 7 day DAS course, my instructor Carol was a brilliant instructor along with Chris who also helped me.
Not sure why the 1 star reviewer gave a bad review, I found the kit to be clean, in very good condition and plenty of it. Everything you need is provided. The bikes are excellent too.
All in all an excellent riding school, which I would recommend to anyone!
Friendly and Professional
BMW Darlington: Friendly, professional team that train to a high standard and go the extra mile to let you concentrate purely on your learning and test.
Awful experience. Save your time and money
These guys are as much BMW as any random riding school is Honda.
I went to the Exeter Centre, and it was a waste of time and money. It was a local riding school called MTS! So what was the difference between the MTS and BMW courses? Well, the latter was more expensive
Was I trained by a BMW certified trainer? Nope. A police retiree and a random dude were trainers. Also, there were some other retirees to choose from, none of them a BMW employee or BMW certified trainer as far as I was told by them
Did I receive a BMW training certificate? Nope
Did the facilities have anything to do with BMW? Nope. Except for the bikes that you can buy one from Auto trader
Did they know how to train? Nope. I have a decade of experience in teaching and training--other fields, not riding--, and I studied and was trained to be a teacher, probably unlike these people. Based on my experience and merits, they have no competence in training. The least in your teaching is finding the flawed logic of your trainee and trying to fix it, not "threatening the mistake out of trainees"
Do they have swift and respectful customer service? Nope. I told them the whole story a week ago, and they couldn't care less. They are active when they want to take your money.
Did they have a dedicated changing room, as they advertised on their website? Nope. Take off your clothes in the middle of the training room.
Did they wash the clothes every day, as they say? Nope. The same sweaty gears of yesterday are waiting for you.
I can continue this list for a few more items.
You can choose these guys if you want to receive training from an random trainer who just happens to have riding experience. Paying 1600£ to learn from an ex-service guy how to clutch seems not a good deal
Avoid these people or lower your expectations. There is nothing related to BMW there except some logos and bikes. Following the same logic, the riding school in your neighbourhood is a Honda school.
Oh, about the 7-day DAS course. It was not a 7-day course. The last day was dedicated to the exams, so it was practically a 6-day course.
Also, they charged me for CBT but didn't give me my certificate (I had one from another school, but it is nice to get another one when you have paid for it, isn't it?)
All in all, a rubbish experience with some rude trainers. Avoid them, especially if you are not "local"

I suffered a TIA at the beginning of my biking journey and didn't think I'd ever be able to get my full license, after doing the intensive 7-day training which they tailored to me and my needs I can now say I have my full A motorbike license after passing both MODs first time. I did mine at the Stoke-On-Trent site and the team there were absolutely fantastic, I'd highly recommend doing this course if like me you learn better intensively rather than the odd few-hours lessons here and there.
Exceptionally skilled instructors delivering an outstanding learning experience!
Shoutout to the incredible Brian, Ian, and the whole squad at the BMW Rider Training Centre Royston! The week-long intensive course to get my full bike license was an absolute blast. I mean, who knew learning could be so much fun? These guys are seriously pros, catering to each of our needs and sharing their wisdom with flair. Before I could even say "vroom vroom," I was zooming around and having a blast. Oh, and did I mention that I aced the course? Yep, I'm ready to hit the road with my fancy new motorbike from BMW Motorrad. Huge props to Brian, Ian, and the entire team for making this experience outstanding and unforgettable. They not only taught me how to ride, but also ignited a fire within me to constantly improve as a rider. These folks are the real deal, folks – true experts who teach with a passion that's contagious. So, a million thanks again. Can't wait to join you all for some epic touring soon. See you on the open road!!

Everything promised was delivered ,very structured training from Brian and Ian and a great laugh... Hugely experienced people who understand the misgivings of the student and gave support where neccessary ... couldnt have asked for more
Unreal experience
Kevin and the team are second to non. As a professional athlete I am constantly around world class coaches day in and day out. The way Kevin and the team teach is no different, they are sensational at their jobs and made the process so simple and Interesting! I couldn’t recommend a better place to learn!
