Really disappointed with this greedy company. I had to cancel my retreat due to a late back injury and whilst they supposedly charge up to 15% of the retreat cost on their commission, the initial deposit is about 30%. In this instance they have refused to return any funds to me at all, even though the retreat organiser, who may have incurred some loss at my absence, was happy to fully refund me :(. Try to go direct to the retreat organiser in future!

The sum involved is 367.96 GBP

They make no explanation of why they need these funds- everyone else refunded, the flight, the hotel and diving I was going to do, but not this greedy company. And offering a reuse after a medical issue within a certain time frame is no help at all. I had an ankle fracture 2 years ago the day before a trip and it took a year to mend properly so I could not use the deposit and now I may be advised not to do yoga again as my back issue was caused by yoga before the trip. Why are you keeping my money?

I needed to change the date of my reservation for a yoga retreat and contacted the support, because no one could take care of my cat. They were very caring and efficient and accepted to change the scheduled date though it was all my fault. The answer was quick, human and very understanding. My English is poor as I am French so I received the answer both in French and English. It's really impressive !

I have had a very good experience in that school with the practises of yoga meditation the theory teachers are very good I recommend it

horrible customer service. i have asked for help multiple times and i receive bot generated replies signed by different "customer service representatives". never again! the only recourse i have is through the CC company! DO NOT USE BOOKYOGARETREAT.COM

I was in direct communication with a representative named Soniya from Ekant Yoga regarding logistics. Shortly before the retreat start date, I was unexpectedly informed that I was confirmed for a 50-hour Yoga Teacher Training course, which I never booked. After I raised concern, Soniya acknowledged this as a mistake and reconfirmed the Koh Samui retreat.

However, I was then informed that:

The Koh Samui retreat allegedly had insufficient participants

Ekant Yoga intended to combine my retreat with a different 50-hour YTT in Koh Phangan, at a different venue

Remaining payment of EUR 840 was requested via bank wire to a different business name: Diksha Yoga, which was described as a “sister school” used for tax purposes

Despite my reservations, I completed the wire transfer as instructed. When Ekant Yoga later insisted on changing the retreat location and format, I declined and requested a cancellation and full refund. Soniya explicitly agreed in writing to a full refund.

It has now been over three weeks, and:

I have not received my refund

Ekant Yoga is now claiming they never received my wire transfer

I have bank confirmation from Bank of America proving the transfer was completed

Ekant Yoga continues to request additional information while providing no evidence of refund processing

Additionally:

I contacted Wonderland Center in Koh Phangan, where the alleged 50-hour YTT was supposed to take place

Wonderland confirmed in writing that they do not know or work with Ekant Yoga

This raises serious concerns about the legitimacy of Ekant Yoga’s claims and advertised retreats

I am deeply concerned that:

Ekant Yoga may be operating under multiple business names

Retreats may be advertised without confirmed venues

Participants are being pressured to wire funds directly to third-party accounts

Refund commitments are not being honored

Given that this organizer is listed on your platform, I expect BookYogaRetreats to investigate Ekant Yoga and Diksha Yoga immediately, review their vetting status, and assist in resolving my refund. I am also preparing to report this matter to Yoga Alliance and relevant consumer protection authorities.

I have a complete record of emails, WhatsApp messages, wire transfer receipts, and venue confirmations, and I am prepared to provide all documentation upon request.

Please confirm receipt of this complaint and advise on next steps

As clearly mentioned in our emails, while the foundation name is the same, Rishikul Yogshala Rishikesh operates as an independent entity with different ownership, location, management and faculty. Therefore, suspending our Rishikesh listing without any dispute or conflict does not seem justified, especially when we have maintained transparency and clarity from the beginning.

We kindly request immediate reactivation of our Rishikesh account, as this suspension has affected our visibility and student inquiries. I had booked a trip through them but unfortunately the place I had booked ended up selling out at the same time I paid my deposit. When the place informed me, I reached out to Tripaneer customer service to refund my deposit which they did quickly (with me providing the proof of course) and were so understanding and helpful! They even gave me extra credit on top of my full refund to put towards a future trip which I will definitely be using soon! Great, friendly folks!

Thanks to your website i met wonderful people, enjoied beatiful nature and visited unique places.

Overall our experience has been excellent.
5 stars for the atmosphere of welcome, the cleanliness of the rooms, the sense of community which includes group dinners sharing local food, and of course the yoga classes by Itta and Anna which were truly wonderful, and adaptable for all levels.
Just three personal suggestions for improvement would be:
1. to brighten the place up because first impression is that the venue is tired; a repaint of the gorgeous driveway mural, some bright or vibrant yoga pictures & colourful upholstery to lift the ambience.
2. An extra offering such as one meditation class and one massage in the package would raise the sense of value for money.
3. the yoga mats are also tired, hard and heavy.
Overall a wonderful experience and would recommend ☺️

7 Day Yoga, Culture Tour, Detox, Spa, and Self-awareness Wellness Retreat in Bali, Indonesia:

Overall, a great experience! This is a place for all people, of any age and any country to connect with themselves and each other. Everyone was super friendly, including staff and other visitors. The yoga sessions were instructed by 3/4 teachers on rotation, each giving you something different, which kept it interesting.

My first friendly face was Arkar, my driver. He was chatting away to me the entire car ride, but he was happy not to talk if you didn’t want to. I definitely recommend chatting though as I learned a lot about the culture through him and also asked him recommendations of places to go for my trip afterwards. Arkar truly went above and beyond for me, ensuring I was happy and continued to do so after my trip - so I’m very thankful.

All staff are incredible & friendly, and very accommodating! Whether you would like to drink from a coconut off of one of their trees, or you’d like to swap between detox meals and original meals each day - they are happy to do so. I do not like seafood & so when I explained this to them and suggested I take a detox meal on seafood nights, they were more than happy to simply give me chicken everyday instead.
You could also pass on any of the daily activities or yoga if you did not feel up for it - no questions asked.

I do want to highlight that not everybody will be on the same schedule as you - I was not expecting this. I had assumed that my tours would be with a group & as a solo traveller, I was excited to make friends this way. Each visitor has signed up for a different amount of days; some 4 days, some 7 days, some 14 days & some 30 days, etc., meaning their activities will not always align with yours and you may do some activities alone. However, some days your activities will align & you get to do this with the people you will naturally befriend at breakfast, lunch & dinner or at yoga each day.

I met some amazing people from all different countries; Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, USA. And it was fascinating conversing with them & learning so much about each place, & finding out how much we each had in common as well.

I’m very thankful for the staff for my experience and their welcoming friendly faces :)

I had a great retreat found by bookyogaretreat! Very professional yoga classes, easy communication by chat (I liked the fact you don't need to make an account, only use your email) and the information was complete.

Although unfortunately the yoga retreat did not go ahead my experience was first class.
I was given options and £50 to spend on another experience.
Although I opted for a refund this was done quickly and without hassle.
I was kept fully informed regarding the process.

I decided to go to Bali for 5 days before my friends arrived. I booked the Saturday before arriving Thursday.
As I was Solo and not really interested in having a 24/7 party holiday, I went looking to something that was all inclusive stress free and comfortable. I chose detox and yoga to help with lifestyle choices when I return home. Brilliant 5 days.

Terrible! Will definitely never book anything again with them.
They canceled the retreat, because there were no people, said I would get my money back.
Never got my money back!!!
So I really would advise you not booking with them.

I booked 2 retreats with them.
I ran into an issue with a provider and they have been totally unable to help. They said they'd but they did absolutely nothing at all. I had to sort it out by myself.
Also, the deposit you pay is the commission they take, nothing of your deposit goes to the provider.
So the only thing they do is to list retreats, because you don't even pay them for a service! When I had a problem with the 1st one, I had to pay on top of the retreat fee for admin fees. Of course, they didn't help with that neither.
Take the provider's name, book it directly with them. You'll save money. It doesn't make a difference for the teachers.

When we booked, I was worried because the price was so good, but it was amazing. The hotel was stunning. All food provided. The Yoga instructors were great. I am a very experienced Yogi and they adapted to challenge myself and also accommodate the others that were less experienced. You can pick and choose which and how many classes you would like to do a day so if you feel like relaxing there’s no pressure. Hot and cold spa’s, sauna, steam room, gym and an stunning view
