At checkout the cashier was serving a lady who, by the chatty conversation she was having, knew the customer. On clearing the till area, it was our turn to be served. Our few products began to be sca... See more

Horrible staff at Booths Keswick
Went to the shop in Keswick today we had a support dog with us (in a buggy he’s disabled) we were half way round the shop when we were approached by a member of staff who told us rather rudely “no dogs allowed and to get out” when we tried to say to her that he was a support dog we were told NO DOGS ALLOWED. Very rude lady who is allergic to dogs. So if you have a support dog which includes guide dogs or if you have dog hair on you stay away from this store you will not be welcome. 😡🤬😡
This super market is probably the worst…
This super market is probably the worst in knutsford the only thing going for it is free parking so park there shop somewhere else
Booths never again. First time last time.
Called at Booths Keswick for breakfast sandwiches only to be told there is a thirty minute wait but the waitress said I will just go and check if this correct only to return and said it is now forty five minutes. So we asked for toast and marmalade so she replied it is still forty five minutes. We then decided we couldn’t wait so asked for three coffees to go, got back to the car and the paper cups were half empty and costing over £9. Contacted head office but fobbed it off as a minor issue and they had contacted the store manager to make sure standards were met. So all I can say is don’t use Booths if you are hungry use a local cafe where you will get better service and value for money. Please I hope you take notice of my experience because I will never shop at booths again. Just to let you know there is a Co op just around the corner and a lot cheaper give them a try.
Poor breakfast…
Our breakfast this morning at Booths Longton cafe was very poor. The vegetarian breakfast was cold apart from lukewarm baked beans and the scrambled eggs were over cooked and like rubber. My partners full breakfast was also lukewarm, the egg overcooked and far below the standard of previous breakfasts. The cafe temperature was very cold and uncomfortable. We were told nothing could be done about it! A very unpleasant experience which we will not repeat.
Terrible cottage pie
Purchased a not cheap cottage pie, thought it looked a bit “ loose “when I put it in the oven, turns out it was potatoes and gravy!no meat in it whatsoever.sort of a potato soup.
Avoid the Too good to go bags at…
Avoid the Too good to go bags at Chorley.
All I got this evening was bread, bread and more bread; no bakery items at all.
Very, very disappointing.
Starbucks offered a really great variety I will return there in future.
Poor prawn and mayo sandwich
Visited Keswick today and decided to purchase their meal deal. The only thing wrong was the prawn mayo sandwich. Far too much pepper and not enough mayo. In fact I couldn’t see any!!
Not a patch on Marks and Spencer’s
“Slogan” tote bags
Wanted to purchase a couple of the “slogan” tote bags but I couldn’t see the ones I wanted and had seen a couple of days previously. After mentioning this to Tev on the checkout, he advised I ask the manager to help. I did just that and the manager, went off to the stockroom and brought back the whole range for me to choose from. That’s what you expect from Booths. A service we regrettably don’t get down South. Hats off to the manager of the Settle store. Thank you very much.
Absolutely appalling customer service…
Absolutely appalling customer service from the Ulverston store. The products are always close to their sell by date! Just purchased two bottles of milk with a sell by two days away!!! Wished I’d noticed…..the bread just one day from sell by date. Spoke with a person within the store, who was rude, would not allow me to get a word in, not apologetic or empathetic towards the consumer. Luckily got the ladies name and will elevate this to Booths HO! A few lessons in customer service wouldn’t go amiss. Been a loyal customer of Booths, but no more…..I’ll choose to shop at a store that values its custom.
My Son bought some fresh pitted stuffed…
My Son bought some fresh pitted stuffed olives from Booths when he bit into one there was still a stone in and it subsequently broke his back Tooth. He rang the shop where they offered to refund the price of the olives but it does not compensate for the £100+ it is going to cost at the Dentist for it repairing. Be careful when you buy these things.
Awful fresh produce
Awful fresh produce - fruit and veg. Expensive and of the lowest quality. After 3 unsuccessful attempts at making a complaint on line I gave up - perhaps that’s what they want.
Parking scam
Parking scam being run in conjunction with Parking Eye. You overstay slightly and receive a PCN. You pay and then about 10 days later receive another PCN for same transgression but for twice the amount - obviously hoping that you are a regular shopper and won't check. I gave Booths chance to deny they were jointly running a scam and to sort it out. They ignored it - draw your own conclusions.
Shambolic Booths Card and Customer Service Experience
I am totally appalled by the lacklustre and insensitive response to my legitimate concerns received from this Dickensian Company.
My Booths Loyalty Card had accrued £20 worth of voucher entitlement when the value was deducted from my account on 20th March, 2024. Booth's have stated that their vouchers were mailed out to customers on the 2nd April, but as at today, almost 3 weeks later, I have not received my allocation. The Company response has thus far been patronising and dismissive in the extreme. This is a transcript of the response received from Booths, and they are rigidly holding to their position, citing "Company Policy"
:-
"Please rest assured I have looked into this for you and I can confirm that you were sent £20.00 in vouchers and we have the correct address details for you on file.
Please be aware there may be a delay due to the postal service but I can confirm that these have been sent to the correct address.
Therefore, if you could please wait until the voucher expiry date which is 26th May 2024 to confirm that the vouchers have definitely not been received and then we can look further into this for you."
I think it is patently a case of "Caveat Emptor" when dealing with this Archaic Business Model....and it may very possibly prove to be the catalyst, and the time to switch my long standing allegiance away from Booths as my historically preferred "go to" Supermarket!!
Motorist beware
Motorists beware - penalty parking charges are out of all proportion to the nuisance caused by overstaying. My sharing platter (very nice) with friends at Lytham Booth’s wine bar resulted in a £100 parking fine for overstaying due to having lost track of time. I was causing no hazard, no obstruction and there was plenty of room in the car park. I except the need for penalty charges in order to control parking - but £100 is surely excessive.
What has happened to Booths
What has happened to Booths? I had a shepherds pie and when it was cooked it looked like diarrhoea. Absolutely disgusting. Everything melted into one mush, I couldn’t believe it. I’ll be going elsewhere from now on!
Booths Longton Avoid
Booths Longton, no tills on after 9am, had to wait in big queue at kiosk. No space to try & pack shopping, no explanation or help. Dreadful experience and I won’t be shopping there again.
I have been a customer for over 30 yrs…
I have been a customer for over 30 yrs and have been let down today for glasses for my fundraiser. I was promised they would be available today. I originally asked for a donation but they said they were unable to supply as already donate to charities. Presumably this is the 25p i add voluntarily on my bill every time. The manager was not interested in our complaint
Undervalued customer
Good luck with your new build at Scotforth ALDI
😱
I’m perplexed
I’m perplexed - do you need to be over 25 to buy logs for a fire from this store? If ‘yes’ then why? If not, then was the (very) elderly gentleman on the checkout when he indicated that clearly we were ‘ over 25’ - something that did not go down well with my extremely young looking and attractive other half!!!!
Tried new cafe at Booths in Clitheroe…
Tried new cafe at Booths in Clitheroe today. Bit small, expensive at £6.25 for a ham n cheese toastier with thin slivers of ham in thick sliced bread. Nice caramelised onion chutney though. Very long wait for 2 sandwiches at 35mins. Upside was my partner got second pot of tea to replace first one that went cold. Loos were clean, cafe staff polite but very slow, average age about 21.
