Very disappointed with Booths. Shopped at Booths Penrith on Tuesday, before Christmas. The Raspberries were tasteless, the brussels were scabby, the pork pie crust was far too thick and finally the... See more

Julie at booths knutsford a rafis counter
She’s so very rude!
As a loyal customer of many years of booths Julie P is very rude and as a customer shopping I have heard her slagging the staff off aswell as customers. She is so unprofessional and when I’ve gone up to the stand she’s always been unapproachable, is very sarcastic and is not a genuine person. She tried to make hard sales you u and it’s not very inviting.
I do not go into booths any more due to this women and it’s a shame !
Parking fines at Booths
Booths are fine, even nice, if you don't mind paying a bit more. However, beware the parking cameras, as Booths allow Parkingeye (not a company with a good reputation) to police their two-hour parking limit. It doesn't seem to matter how much you spend in the store, you are getting a fine if you breach the time limit. So, if you must use Booths, skip the cafe and don't dawdle around the aisles. As for me, I think I'll skip Booths and dump the Booths card (not sure what that ever did anyway).
How Supermarkets Should Be
I find all the negative reviews below hard to credit. For years a highlight of our Lake District holidays has been to visit Booth's Supermarket in Windermere. Parking is convenient, the staff friendly and helpful and the variety of products, especially their own brands is delightful. The mainstream supermarkets could learn much from Booth's. We enjoyed the cafe and their dishes to cook at home are made with the very best ingredients.
Usually good
Voted Hales Barn store today. Disappointed that I wasn't asked for my Booths card and paid full price and no points.
Seems I wasn't recognised as a regular.
According to Ange, mental health isn’t real
Whilst visiting and using the cafe in Carnforth I had the unfortunate pleasure of overhearing a conversation between two old cafe workers, one named ‘Ange’ who were openly talking about mental health, claiming how it isn’t real and it’s just in your head whilst slagging off member of staff. what vile staff you have employed.
What a joke
What a joke, no hot food after 3pm and not permitted to have coffee and cake BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE A BOOTH CARD. Won't be shopping in Booths then.
Parking fine whilst spending money in cafe
After visiting the Fulwood branch, I received a parking fine when I left the car park. I spent just over 3 hours in the cafe with my sister where we bought 4 drinks and a meal, spending plenty of money within the business to justify the time. I received a letter from ParkingEye which stated that the time limit is 2 hours and a £50 fine if paid immediately. I have been to this store many times over the years and have never seen this sign and was unaware there was a time limit. I believe this is in place to prevent visitors to the hospital parking whilst there however, maybe there shouldn't be a cafe is there's a short time limit on how long you can stay in the car park!
I visited Booths Lytham St Annes on… 27 December and witnessed a young male member of staff be so rude to an Older Lady
I visited Booths Lytham St Annes on Friday 29th December and overhead the most appalling service by a young male member of the staff who when a retired Lady asked him near the fruit and vegetable section where the lift was be bark I am far to busy to help you
She was visibly shocked and said Yes but I am a customer which he replied Oh don’t try to be clever !
I suggested she contact the Manager but I think she was so upset she stood looking stunned
Another customer nearby pointed out were the lift was and she headed towards it
Booths if this is the type of Staff you are employing you should be throughly ashamed
Pre-ordered food for Christmas Meal - Out of stock
I was very disappointed with my local Booths in Hale Barns today. We decided to order our Christmas food from Booths this year instead of M&S and despite ordering this in early Nov 22, we were told today that the seafood starters were not in stock! They offered us a really rubbish alternative. There were several other people in the queue that had the same experience. They need a better food ordering and collection system. I wish I had just gone to M&S as I have done in past years.
A Christmas Collection Joke!
How can they get a Christmas collection service so wrong!?
Order online and select your collection date/time.
Arrive at the store, which in my case was St Annes, and head to the cafe, which was closed to enable collections, including its own checkout, but an oasis of calm compared to the general festive bedlam in the rest of the store.
Give your name, take a seat and your order is wheeled out. You're handed a paper copy of your order and directed to head to the main checkout, despite the Cafe having it's own checkout, which is just crazy. I remove my items from the trays, pack them and then head to checkout mayhem with a few additional items I had purchased.
After queuing for an absolute age, I place the few additional items on the conveyor along with a copy of my order, and naively expected the employee to scan the copy of my order along with the additional items before presenting me with the balance to pay. Oh no, everything from the order has to come out of the bag and is then individually scanned before I then have to repack it.
Hello, it's 2022 and you have both my order, so you know exactly what is being ordered, and my payment details, as you took a deposit, so just issue a barcode for each order, open the till in the Cafe and have someone there to take the payment, rather than forcing customers with collections back into the store. Better still, just head to M&S to see how it is done.
Shockingly bad!
Gone to the dogs…
I honestly don’t know what has happened to the shop I have used for nearly 40 years. I regularly buy fruit for my grandsons packed lunches. Just recently we have bought fruit (berries in the main) only to find some fruits were rotten and had green mould on them. I complained to the “Twitter” team (along with photos of the offending fruits) who sent me a £5 voucher to say sorry along with assurances it wouldn’t happen again as all fruit is checked both at the warehouse and before it is put on the shelves. Well it has happened again..twice in as many weeks. I complained again to the “Twitter” team who suggested I email HQ with a “formal” complaint. I did this and the response from HQ was identical to the response from the Twitter team, basically I am a liar and Booths wouldn’t put rotten fruit onto their shelves. Well after 40 years I am disappointed to say I will no longer be shopping at Booths. I don’t know what has happened but it isn’t the shop I have used without any cause for complaint for 40 years. What a shower they have turned into, a once brilliant enterprise now full of grumpy, disgruntled staff who couldn’t give a xxxx about customers. I shopped at Aldi today for the first time and although the shop was a bit scruffy, the staff were really pleasant and helpful, but the biggest surprise was at the checkout where the prices were unbelievable.
Poor service in Booths Chorley.
Visited my local Booths supermarket fish counter in Chorley today. I selected a rainbow trout and sea bass. I asked that both were deboned, heads and tails removed and gutted. The guy on the counter said it would take 10 minutes and I said I would pop back to the counter after I’d picked up a few other items. On return to the counter the fish were wrapped and priced. I left the store and later that day I unwrapped them ready to bake. All the “fishmonger” had done was remove the heads and tails and gut the sea bass. No attempt had been made to de-bone either. The fins were left on and the bass hadn’t even been descaled. It must have taken all of 10 seconds to remove the heads. Why the 10 minute wait. Why do Booths pretend they have professional people working on their fish counters if they cannot even prepare a fresh fish for sale. In future I will stick to the excellent fresh fish stall on Chorley market where I don’t even need to ask for this service to be done. Beware if you expect a fish to be professionally prepared at Booths in Chorley. Personally I’d give it a miss.
Bought kale
Bought kale. Realized I had to wash it, but clumps of mud and dead and live bugs!!! Horror show. Disgusting....
I went to repair my old glasses
I went to repair my old glasses, i decided to get new pairs of glasses for both reading and distance. After eye tests and placing the order, I was told to collect them in 2 weeks, so far so good.
Everything went wrong when I went to collect the glasses. The reading glasses was totally out of focus and the distance pair was also slightly out of focus, so they decided to test my eyes again, they told me the first test was wrong for reading pair and they will sort out the other pair as well. After returning in 10 day, both pairs were out of focus AGAIN and at this point I was pretty annoyed and asked for a refund.
NEVER AGAIN WITH BOOTHS LEEDS
Booths ignored my email about my Experience.
I emailed the team at my local store to explain my experience whilst shopping, I haven't received any acknowledgment of my email and no reply. Don't shop there, chose another supermarket that values its customers!
Below is my email that was ignored.
I wanted to get in touch with you to share my experience
I visited your store, shopped, bought from your deli counter and checked out, i spent over £60.00, the store is fabulous, the staff I encountered in the store were very friendly and helpful and encouraged me to try samples which I then bought. The lady at the checkout was very chatty I had a very lovely experience.
I decided to treat myself to a coffee. I had a few bags, that I left in my trolley and tucked it away in a cleaning corner that wasn't being used.
Ordered my coffee and found a table.
When I sat down to enjoy a few minutes of peace, I noticed my trolley had been moved and left outside the entrance to the cafe.
I left my table and went over to it, a woman was wiping down tables and I asked if my trolley had been moved.
She told me that trolleys weren't allowed in the cafe for H&S reasons, which I accepted.
She suggested to leave my coffee and take the shopping to my car and then return.
There is no signage to advise that trolleys aren't allowed, the same woman saw me walk past her to the counter and didn't say anything? Just moved my trolley into the store.
Anyone could have taken my shopping that was paid for.
I took my bags out of the trolley and sat them on a spare seat at my table.
I was very disappointed by her attitude I quickly finished my drink and left.
Not sure if I want to return.
Please pass on my comments to your training manager.

Booths in Barrowford. Never Again
Booths in Barrowford, restaurant. 2 breakfasts ordered. My wife had just about finished hers. Mine nowhere to be seen. Staff very pleasant but seemed overfaced - and at the time we came it wasn’t that busy.
NOT IMPRESSED
I have been to my local booth's as…
I have been to my local booth's as usual, no complaints about staff or produce. I'm complaining about the parcel pick up at the quick pay till and lottery kiosk. All the customers in the que either returned the items and left or went to the self service till, me included however without my lottery ticket. Come on booth's, if you have opened up parcel collection then open a separate area to collect them and not the quick till.
Bacon sandwich deal
We had the bacon sandwich and two drinks for £8.
It was excellent value for money.
The sandwiches we perfectly cooked, well done to the chef
