Cannot activate. No barcode to scan. No help anywhere.

I cannot find the barcode. Tried everything. Eventually scanned the qr code on the pregnancy test-like thingy and pasted the results in to the box. At that point the activate button greyed out and I couldn't use it. The FAQ page doesn't seem to exist. Took a photo anyway in case anyone comes looking for me but all in all this is a bust. 😞

Do not buy this kit

Do not buy this kit. Worst experience and portal, give all your very personal info and does not feel at all secure.

Didn’t explain anything and confusing where to fill out.
Have taken photo wrong and not taken on top of the silly piece of paper they give so I bet it will be void anyway.

Ordered as a Day 2 test after returning…

Ordered as a Day 2 test after returning to UK from the USA. Had used this service successfully one week prior, but this time a clearly negative result which I uploaded via their website was determined to be 'inconclusive'. No further information/assistance/explanation on why this result was determined - except that I would need to do another one (obviously...). Could not recommend on this experience as there is a clear question mark over the quality of the results assessment.

This service is 100% useless

This service is 100% useless. Do not buy. Boots will happily take your fee but zero help on offer to manage the results. The QR scanner takes you to Boots Homepage, not the "Upload results page". You will be lucky to guess the barcode, since the barcode on the box apparently isn't a barcode. Boots have re-invented a barcode just for them. So here i am several hours after doing my negative test, not able to upload and register as requested. Don't bother calling because when you get through you then get sent to another number who then can't help....

Useless - clearly negative test is "inconclusive"

Useless. I submitted the picture of a clearly negative test and got a message that the lab could not determine the result of my swab test and it was inconclusive, requiring a re-test. And there is not even a way to contact them back to challenge the result. An excuse to charge me another £79.

Like others

Like others - the service is terrible - been trying for hours to scan the test device QR code to no avail - there is no barcode which would have been easier as digits apply - do not use this service - I have also made NHS aware as to how bad the service is.

Thanks to Mark Evans' review I looked at others. Got there eventually. I along with many others found out that the QR code on the device could not be scanned. I downloaded a QR scanning app on my phone which is old and hey presto - a 26 digit alpa numeric appeared - I saved this and entered it onto the portal and it worked - followed by uploading photo - I logged in on a laptop which was easier - hope this helps others who are frustrated. PS you have to enter the code twice manually as copy and paste from 1st entry will not allow progress.

I was very pleased with the 1st 2 tests…

I was very pleased with the 1st 2 tests I bought off Boots .However the day 2 DIY test is an absolute Disaster and would have Jesse Boot turning in his grave .The test itself was quite simple and gave me a big fat negative .However what ensued was an hour and a half of frustration and exasperation .Echoing all the other comments on here .Blaming myself as being technically incompetent .The test however did upload itself to my total surprise after 15 goes ,however it came back as indecisive...have a free go However that doesn't seem to be forthcoming .Boots just dont seem to care ...probably just rolling around in the cash raised from selling a few cotton buds and a cl of fluid
There must be a better choice for next time

Absolutely atrocious

Absolutely atrocious!
We eventually managed to work through the dreadful portal that gave all wrong instructions. Both of our tests were clearly negative. It was impossible to load one of the tests successfully. Unable to resubmit the results, one of the tests came back as inconclusive. They offered a voucher for a further test but the voucher is nonexistent.
This is a total disgrace from Boots who we’ve always regarded as reliable.

Shambles of a portal

Taking the test was easy. Then came the hard bit. Logged in to portal, tried to scan the test QR code - kept getting camera error messages (although gave me an umpteen digit code). Manually typed in the code (twice), and finally it recognised the kit. Next bit was uploading the the photograph - it simply would not respond on my phone. Finally I emailed the photo to my laptop, logged in from there, and managed to drag and drop the photo. 2 hours of my like I won't get back - an absolute shambles of a portal.

I won't be using this again

I won't be using this again. Utterly ridiculous. The ONLY way you can enter the QR code is by scanning it with your phone, actually copying out the 26 letters and numerals by hand (Copy and Paste DOESN'T work!) and entering it manually. The QR code will not scan. And the only way I found that out was by reading other reviews, otherwise I'd still be tearing my hair out. I hope this is useful to someone in the same predicament. It's not fit for purpose and the instructions are misleading.

Easy peasy nice and squeezy

Well after reading all the other reviews I was apprehensive about doing this test. It turned out to be a doddle!! The instructions were clear (I am no Brain of Britain) and the only slight issue I had was with uploading mine and my husband’s results to Recova. Took a couple of attempts but all went through. I am not tech-savvy either - used my iPhone.

it is impossible to upload the results, the qr does not work. there is no one to contact at Boots - they do not answer the phone and online it's just a bot which sends an automated message and no other follow-up!
Currently I intent to email the CEO and see if they are interest in my refund!!!

An Utter Disgrace.

Had a nightmare 2 hours trying to upload my wife's and my own Day 2 test. We followed the instructions , which are far from clear, and uploaded what we thought were our results. The next day as per 100's / 1000's ? of other livid customers, we were told our results were inconclusive! This was despite both tests showing negative.
How can a company with the reputation of Boots, allow the instructions for these tests to be so poorly written. Did nobody at Boots check that the instructions were easily understandable and in plain English?
Finally, with so many negative comments, why hasn't Boots reviewed the wording of the instructions.

Do not use this test

Do not use this test. it is a complete ripoff. the test instructions are poor, the web interface is nigh on impossible to navigate and despite a negative test, i got put down as inconclusive with no phone number to contact. I have been ringing them for hours....

What a palaver

What a palaver. I couldn’t activate the test because the qr code wouldn’t scan. However I hovered my camera over it, wrote down the number that popped up at the top of the photo, inputted that manually and it worked. Instructions from Boots are rubbish and no customer service telephone number that I could see. Won’t use again.

Boots did not bother sending the kits

Two x Day 2 at home TFT ordered from Spain. Returned to UK but kits never arrived. I tried calling them 3 times but Boots do not answer and cut the line after 30 mins. Sent email that took days to answer and Boots claim that " Post-Travel Testing Service is non-refundable and that the service is deemed to have been provided in full by Boots and ReCoVa-19 by providing you with your Booking Reference Number." In other words, Boots did not even bother sending the kits.
Boots did not answer my third email contesting their claim that they had not fulfilled the contract and so I contacted my credit card company (JaJa - very good response) and having completed the claim form but before JaJa got it Boots refunded the full amount albeit without any comment.
