Sent my samples off after paying by PayPal, items sent as per instructions, heard not a thing for about six weeks despite chasing, then just received a refund without explanation. Appreciate company may not be trading but if they can action a refund then they can send an email, also notice now they’ve put their prices up as well.

Suspecting my integral garage ceiling is AIB but wanting confirmation before drilling it to install light fittings, I ordered an Asbestos Self Sampling Kit from Bradley Environmental. I chose this company because, as well as having a good name, they seem to be specialists on various aspects of health and safety and have in-house asbestos testing facilities, and although they charge more than many of their competitors I thought I would be getting a first class service.
The kit arrived promptly, but I was surprised it didn't contain an asbestos disposal bag for used PPE, which other sampling kits do. Enquiring through the chat box on their website, I was just told to put the used PPE in the household waste.
I sent the sample off to their Midlands lab on a Tuesday, and after having to chase them up on the Friday, finally received the results late the following Monday. Hardly the promised 24 hour turn-around!
As other reviews have mentioned, the results are less informative than one might hope, particularly with regard to the health risks of the material analysed. However, given that the sample turns out to contain both chrysotile and amosite, my next step should probably be to have a site survey and possibly have the material removed, both of which are offered by Bradley Environmental. Unfortunately I now don't feel I can trust their promises, so will have to look elsewhere.
Also, although I don't dispute the bare analysis result, I will look elsewhere for asbestos testing in future, as most other companies offer results in 24 or 48 hours, and at a lower cost.
