I'm starting to play Bridge again.

I'm starting to play Bridge again after about a 30 year break. When I played before, the Vienna system was played here in Iceland. So it's really good to practice playing with the robots that BBO offers. So thank you for helping me start playing this amazing game again.

I am frustrated with the bidding…

I am frustrated with the bidding responses when playing against thecomputer. the responses to my bids are poor and out of date ,misleading and make it almost impossible to make the bid. For example taking the bid to the four level with less than 10 points and less thanfour as support in the bid suit.
one other time my bid ws advanced to the four level when the partner bidder had no POINTS in the hand.

As a beginner

As a beginner, I really appreciate being able to see what the bids mean and it helps me to learn what the best next bid to make, AND of course, what it communicates to my partner. Great learning tool and I can play with people if I choose. Lots of options!

BBO is a flexible platform for play, practice or learning

BBO is an excellent platform for play and team practice. Most folks are familiar with the play aspect of BBO where you can login and play the game, either with your partner or with a robot.

BBO offers many tournaments with different designs in terms of playiong format.

Gut BBO is also an excellent stage for improving your game. You can load deals into BBO and then play those deals. So a teacher or another player can load deals to work a particular topic. You can play 24 deals on squeezes or endplays.

It's a great site for playing, practicing and learning.

Playing hands

Playing hands, robot partner bids ridiculous contracts. Defending, partner has almost no tricks! Playing, trumps are always skewed - eg 4/1. Finesses are always off!!!

Limited play

So far, my experience has been limited to solitaire play, but that is easy, fast and delightful...although my abilities are not! But it's great.

Great platform

Great platform, user friendly, simple to follow to practice bridge with multiple levels of play from solitaire practice games with robots to competitive tournaments and social relaxed bridge. Getting to know players from all over the world is such a great experience. Love it!

Bridge Base is just great

Bridge Base is just great. We play at least once a week. Almost everything about the site is spot on. Our only 'criticisms' are that (i) there is no time to type a comment and chat through how a hand went, as soon as it's finished (because the next deal has already happened) - we would quite like to give each other praise and help and advice but it can only be very brief comments as it holds up the next hand; (ii) we would value (at our level) an optional pause button merely for the casual games (we appreciate that at higher levels this would NOT be appreciated!). That aside, it's brilliant and we were just disappointed to only see the site well into Covid/lockdown. We recommend it to all bridge players, beginners or otherwise. Thank you!

Deal fairly

Deal fairly. Robot partner rarely makes a first bid if at all. I feel it’s VERY RIGGED for robots to win.
